Falsworth: First Avenger Costume Design

Falsworth: First Avenger Costume Design

A little spare time on my hands I had a try at designing an Union Jack inspired outfit for the Falsworth character in The First Avenger: Captain America film...

Going on the points mentioned in my previous article I decide to look into how the Union Jack outfit could be referenced on screen without giving the character the true costume.

Much like the Captain America outfit that is being used the best way to achieve the red lines (in this case the ones that cross the costume) is by using red straps. Best use of strapping i have seen in this manner was on parachutes with a quick release catch. Using this i made my Falsworth a British paratrooper and incorporated the Union Jack elements into suit.

(note: there should also be a horizontal line across the chest as part of the jumpsuit and red trimmings on the wrists)

The Union Jack symbol is achieved by the vertical (and at some point horizontal) red strip being part of the jumpsuit while the cross is the four parachute straps linking to a quick release system on the chest.

Paulley: I would just like to say before too many moaning comments come up, that this was done in a couple of hours using only Google and MS Paint. So cut me some slack :P

Accessories wise Falsworth would use a Commando FF-S Fighting Knife and a WW1 Webley MK6 Revolver

Well done!
Love the mask and the jumpsuit. For the belts to practically come together while still making the Union Jack obvious (I think) would be hard to make work.It needs the thick white seams down the sides.
Then of course the jumpsuit and mask need to be navy blue.
You've chosen just the right weapons too.

Well Union Jack did start off with a black face mask in WW1.. though i kinda did it for ease, plus it broke up the costume a bit more...
