FAN CAST: DR.STRANGE "The Sorcerer Supreme"

FAN CAST: DR.STRANGE "The Sorcerer Supreme"

Marvel Studios will bring a Dr.Strange movie into full gear soon. This is how I would like for them to go about hiring the talent to make it a good one.

First off, my choice of director. Since Del Toro and Jackson are both pre-occupied with other fantasy movies...I choose.. Sophia Coppola.

Ok, I know you must be thinking I hit my head real hard. But to the trained eye, she has a outstanding visual style thats reminscient of her daddy.. You may have heard of him... He did a couple of small films like "The Godfather Trilogy" and "Bram Stokers Dracula". She is very similar but has a more modern vibe to her, besides she already won a Best Picture Oscar for "Lost in Translation" and that was no fluke. If you havent seen that movie I highly recommend it.

The Movie itself will be an Origin story because unlike some other Superheroes, Dr.Strange has never been raped and mutilated by other studios.

Anyway, lets get down to the casting

DR.STRANGE: Johnny Depp

"Stephen Strange is a world-renowned but selfish neurosurgeon, until a car accident damaged his hands, preventing him from practicing surgery. Depressed and scouring the world for a cure to his condition, Strange locates a hermit called the Ancient One in the Himalayas. After Strange selflessly attempts to thwart the Ancient One's traitorous disciple, Baron Mordo, he is taught the mystic arts."

If you can give 1 reason why this is a bad choice, I can give 3 reasons why it's a good choice.. This is almost a no-brainer casting.

BARON MORDO: Daniel Day Lewis

"Originally a Transylvanian nobleman (born in Varf Mandra), Mordo became a student of the Tibetan sorcerer known as the Ancient One. When Mordo plotted to kill his teacher, the Ancient One's visitor Dr. Stephen Strange learned of the plot, forcing Mordo to cast restraining spells to prevent him from warning his Master or attacking him. Unfortunately, when Strange selflessly decided to accept the Ancient One's offer to learn magic in order to help the old man, the Ancient One freed him from those spells, which he was fully aware were in place, and trained him as a formidable enemy of Mordo"

D-Day Lewis can play the biggest douchebag on the planet while making people respect him.. A talent worthy of Mordo. Besides, who wouldnt want to see Lewis cast necromancy spells in a Movie? ;)

THE ANCIENT ONE: Chow Yun Fat

"After a car crash, Stephen Strange came to the Ancient One to cure the nerve damage in his hands. The Ancient One accepted him as his student when he tried to warn the Ancient One of Mordo's dealings with Dormammu. Mordo soon left the palace and Stephen became the Ancient One's successor as Doctor Strange."

Chow is one cool cat.. If that aint The Ancient One than I dont know who is. This role will help us all forgive him as Master Roshi.

CLEA: Cameron Diaz

"Clea is a human-appearing being and maternally related to the other-dimensional Faltine race of energy beings. The daughter of Umar and the niece of the demonic tyrant Dormammu, the noble Clea has been, sporadically, ruler of the Dark Dimension, the mystical realm to which Dormammu had been banished and which he subsequently conquered."

She looks the part and is an underrated actress.. Also, I would love to see the chemistry between her and Depp.

WONG: Russel Wong

"Wong is the descendant and look-alike of Kan, a Chinese monk who lived roughly one thousand years ago and was a student of the occult. Kan was also a teacher and a healer, and though his order of monks was devoted to the ways of peace, he was also a skillful warrior who would fight when necessary."

He has the same name and even looks like him.. Besides Im a big fan of his role as "Danyael" in "The Prophecy 2"

DORMAMMU: Iain Glen

"Born untold thousands or even millions of years ago in the dimension of the vastly powerful energy-entities called the Faltine, Dormammu and his sibling Umar gathered matter to themselves to increase their power, a practice anathema to their fellow Faltine. Ultimately slaying their parent Sinifer, they were driven from their home dimension and assumed human form to explore others. Their search for conquests brought them to the Dark Dimension, a mystic realm riddled with natural warps into pocket universes within the dimension itself."

His roles in Tomb Raider and Resident Evil's make him the perfect choice to play a Dark God imo.

Well, those are the major roles I have chosen.. Im not even going to bother with minor castings and Marvel Universe cameos.. You can fill in the small stuff yourselves..

Leave a comment and let me know how bad this sucks. Thanks for looking. =)

I got 3 reasons Johnny Depp is now no
good for Doc Strange... He's too big
for the role, He's too Depp for the role--lol,
and I want to see Doctor Strange being
portrayed by some actor, not "THE" JOHNNY
DEPP portraying this character, uh, what
was his name again...oh, yeah DOCTOR
STRANGE!

And I used to like him for the part.

Also I'd rather see someone a little more
fatherly-looking than the baby-faced Depp.

The rest of your cast is great, altho' I
personally do not like Cameron Diaz! But
that's just me.

But all-in-all very nice, INTRUDER@!

BTW, Kudos for the Sophia Coppola choice
for director! She "IS" reminiscent of her
daddy!

Her OSCAR win was definitely well-earned!

The apple didn't fall too far from the tree,
here!

Hey Intruder@ I never meant no extreme harshness
about my comment on Johnny Depp. I use to like
him for the role but then I got to thinking
he has just become too well-known for oddball
huge characters and would totally overshadow
Doc Strange! That's what I meant by too Depp
but I guess that's kinda the same as saying he's
become too high profile for the role and I already
said that in my first point but my meaning is a
little bit different for TOO DEPP!

DDL on the other hand is a damn chameleon! He
doesn't even look like himself in his parts
or even feel like himself! I mean he freaked
me out in THERE WILL BE BLOOD! Man, who was that
guy cuz it sure wasn't DDL at all! So he would
be perfect for Mordo, he would become him!

Plus what I meant about his looks is he's baby-
faced! He may be a father but he really looks
young! Strange is a little older and rougher
looking! That's all I meant!

I prefer someone a little older-looking and
a bit less perfect in the face and someone who
would be able to chameleon into the role like say...
Daniel Day Lewis...hey, there's a thought, DDL
as Doc Strange! LOL But seriously he would own
Strange and probably win an OSCAR for it! Not that
Johnny hasn't deservedly won his share of OSCARS!

But no terrible offense meant, bud! :)

...And yes I'm being horribly picky! LOL
But Doc Strange is one of my all-time
favorite Marvel characters and I just want
to see Doc Strange when I see him not "STRANGE
DEPP"! lol

But yeah, exceedingly picky!
That's me! Sorry! Very Sorry!

Well done. Not too keen on Diaz though. I've never been a big fan of hers. But she was hot in The Mask;)
