FAN FICTION: X-Men (CB Movies I would like to see)
Notes: In my first installment X4: Children of the Atom I feel that I successfully rebooted the franchise while allowing fans of Singer’s version closure by resolving the previous continuity in favor of a more Fan Friendly and even more accessible version.
Using the classic “Days of FUTURE PAST” storyline (Originated by Chris Claremont) and the characters of Bishop and Cable, I successfully reintroduced the original five X-Men from the comics and established Singer’s version of the characters as an alternate timeline.
Now I present the sequel to that FAN FICTION. I hope you enjoy this as much as the previous entry. I received positive feedback on the storyline and presentation, so I intend to continue with more entries into this series.
Synopsis:
Magneto emerges after Hank McCoy (a.k.a BEAST) isolates the mutant gene, first attempting to destroy the information & later coveting its potential to change the status quo.
Xavier continuers to train his young students while they must contend with an older & much more experienced: “Brotherhood of Evil Mutants”.
X-Men
Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson, Aaron Johnson, Emma Stone, Billy Crudup, Zac Efron, Michael Angarano, Olivia Wilde, Luke Goss, Robert Knepper, Ethan Suplee & Edward Furlong.
Background: This sequel will focus on the further formation of the X-Men as a team and examine the “Cost of Pride”.
Quote: Pride cometh before a fall.
Opening:
In a nod to the movies from the Singer universe, this movie will also feature an opening teaser set in a Nazi concentration camp. Young Magnus (age 12) has recently manifested his powers and begins attacking the Nazi soldiers, razing the military camp in the process as he leads his people to safety.
MAGNETO THEME:
Note: This song will be playing during Magneto’s rise to power in the Concentration camp.
Magneto deftly disarms the soldiers, turns bullets from his path sending them back at the soldiers, disassembles tanks and other weaponry all while guiding the other prisoners safely to the gates.
The Nazi’s retreat, running for their lives (One soldier’s pants fall off as a magnetically influenced bayonet embeds itself into his buttocks.).
Magneto swells with pride at having been able to save his people as he turns to the other prisoners, arms outstretched.
One of the refugees picks up a stone and smashes it into the child’s head.

Ext. Empire State University (circa 1965)
Master shot of a robust and crowded campus as many students mill about trying to get to classes. A few college girls talk about the cute new anthropology professor: Hank McCoy.
Hank McCoy is a tenured professor at Empire State University and has a number of lucrative private contracts with the Brand Corporation. Popular among his students and faculty and well regarded in his private partnership with Brand, Hank seemingly has it all. He is even dating his assistant, Linda Donaldson and thinking of hanging up his tights as an X-man.
At the Xavier Institute (here known as: Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters), the remaining four X-men are attempting to complete a battery of tests in the Danger Room with disastrous results. Professor X stresses the importance of teamwork and having the ability to work in tandem, complimenting each others gifts.
• Cyclops struggles with his role on the team seeing little self worth in himself other than his mutant ability which renders him a living weapon.
• He is also anguished over a potent crush he has developed for fellow student and teammate, Jean Grey. She seems oblivious to his feelings while the other teammates (particularly Iceman) chide him about it.
• Most of the team looks at Beast as the de facto “Leader” because of his age and confidence.
• Xavier tries constantly to reach Scott and help the boy overcome his lack of confidence. Note: Xavier views Scott as his adoptive son although he never verbally mentions this fact.
After the failed training session, Jean is walking the school grounds when Warren swoops down and carries her off for an afternoon flight. Scott watches dejected as Beast arrives home. Hank is mostly dismissive and slightly condescending of his teammates.
He speaks with Xavier alone in the latter’s study regarding his decision to retire from active crime fighting … Xavier explains that he is okay with Hank’s decision, but chides him over his lack of humility as of late. Hank cuts off an imminent lecture by informing Xavier that he has finally managed to isolate the mutant gene.
Hank and Xavier have a mini-argument about the implications of this discovery and the possible consequences of Hank’s actions. Xavier argues that mutation is caused through “natural selection”. Hank replies that his discovery is beneficiary because it will make it possible for dangerous mutants to be “cured” of their abilities.
… “Or for men to give themselves power … without understanding, without temperament and moral control.”-Xavier.
Elsewhere, Warren and Jean have alighted on top of a water tower overlooking the NYC streets. (Note: They are still wearing their school uniforms aka costumes). They talk about Hank and being a better team.
Warren tries to put the moves on Jean, but she continually talks about Scott. He begins to get angry when Jean notices something happening on the streets.
STREET LEVEL:
A massively obese and seven foot tall criminal Fred Dukes (aka Blob), steps out into oncoming traffic in the path of a fast approaching armored truck.
The armored truck runs into Blob with the impact of a freight train and is surprisingly stopped in its tracks [Visual cue: The impact has the effect of an airbag expansion.].
The guards inside the truck fire at Blob from the shelter of the truck. Blob reaches down and grabs the front end of the truck lifting it chest level and slamming it to the streets jarring the men inside.
A police car suddenly pulls up to the scene, but before the officers can exit the vehicle … TOAD suddenly lands on top of the patrol car, smashing it and trapping the officers inside.
Toad is the “brains” between in this duo of criminals and harshly orders Blob to tear the doors off of the truck. Blob complies and the guards run for their lives leaving the mutants with the vehicle.
Toad jumps in the truck and begins to grab as much of the stored money as possible, placing it in a burlap sack … The double doors suddenly fly back onto the truck trapping him inside.
Outside the truck Blob looks on bewildered as Toad yells insults at him from the vehicle’s interior.
Mag-?!! -Blob utters as he looks around, fear written all over his face.
The engine block suddenly emerges from the damaged police vehicle and repeatedly slams into Blob’s head until he falls over.
Marvel Girl (Jean in costume) stands near the damaged car looking at the downed man mountain.
Toad suddenly smashes through the top of the armored truck having used the mutant strength in his legs to escape. He has a number of filled money bags in his grasp as he looks directly at Marvel Girl. He also looks up to see the Angel swooping in on him.
He elects to escape rather than fight hopping away from the scene in superhuman leaps of thirty to fifty feet in the air. Angel gives chase across the city relieving him of a few of the money bags. He grabs Toad and struggles with him as the criminal cries out a name … “Mastermind”!!
A strange, seedy looking individual watches from a nearby rooftop smiling at the scene before him. He has strange eyes, one pupil red while the other is green … His eyes begin to grow.
Angel suddenly finds his wings missing and screams as he falls towards the pavement. He lets go of toad who lands creating a crater in the street as he hops away.
Angel suddenly realizes that he still has his wings and barely halts his fall into a church yard. He sits there momentarily relieved to be alive.
STAN’S TRADITIONAL CAMEO
Some NYC onlookers and a few beat reporters snap photos of him, before he quickly flies away leaving a few of his feathers floating in the air. A priest picks up one of the feathers looking skyward.
Mastermind watches Angel with some binoculars amused and casually exits the rooftop.
Marvel Girl uses her telekinesis to free the police officers from their crushed patrol car. Instead of gratitude, the officers point weapons at her and begin to arrest her as some onlookers throw rocks and trash.
Angel swoops down and snatches Jean from their clutches.
The officers fire at the two escaping mutants.
Back at the mansion, Xavier scolds Jean and Warren for not contacting the rest of the team. Cyclops and Warren have words regarding him “putting Jean in danger.” Hank interjects that his discovery will make vigilante policing of criminal mutants obsolete and storms out of the room.
Xavier tells the other X-men that Hank wants to leave the team. Warren balks and attempts to elect himself as team leader. The argument continues.
In his room Hank gets a call from Linda Donaldson who is still working at the lab. Hank tells her of his decision to leave the school (He really wants to pursue a relationship with Linda.).
She invites Hank out for a drink to loosen up.
She hangs up the phone and is suddenly alerted by loud noise coming from Hank’s office. She enters the office to find two strange (Male and Female) individuals inside. The male is a tall lithe individual with a full head of white hair and a sinister look about him. The female, a bold exotic looking beauty, casually sits on Hank’s desk as her companion looks through the file cabinets and otherwise trashes the office (Both are dressed to the nines in immaculately tailored suits.).
Notes: Quicksilver and The Scarlett Witch have an almost symbiotic relationship and never leave each other’s company.
Linda asks them who they are and what they are doing in the office. Quicksilver demands Hank’s research notes on the mutant gene. Linda panics and attempts to flee when Wanda eyes flash red. Linda trips, falling into the door and knocking herself unconscious.
Wanda smiles and looks over at her brother who begins moving around the office in a blur of superhuman speed. Papers are scattered everywhere.
Hank, who has been waiting for Linda at a local bar for quite some time becomes nervous and calls the lab.
The phone is dead.
Hank rushes to the lab to find the place trashed. Some security guards and paramedics attend to fallen lab personnel. Linda is nowhere to be found.
FADE OUT:
Cerebro:
Professor X emerges from the Cerebro chamber claiming that he found no trace of Linda … But that he did find Toad and Blob. He X-men stand assembled in costume. Beast is visibly angry.
FADE IN:
Linda awakens to find Hank cradling her in his arms. He tells her everything is okay and that the criminals have been arrested. He asks her if she told them where he keeps his research.
“No … I didn’t tell them you keep your work at the school lab.”-Linda
Beast thanks her and suddenly starts kissing her roughly. She shoves him away to find Mastermind looking at her laughing. She screams…
RAILROAD YARD:
(Ariel Shot)
Toad and Blob walk across the railroad yard in a drunken stupor loudly carousing and singing [They have been out enjoying their stolen money from the armored car heist.]. They enter a single, solitary passenger car.
Inside they find Wanda, Pietro and Mastermind standing over a delirious Linda Donaldson. She is sitting on the floor with her arms outstretched in front of her … Her eyes suggest that she is in some sort of trance.
“That’s enough Jason!!” –Wanda
“Just having a bit of fun with the little lady.” –Mastermind (Jason Wyngarde)
“You heard my sister Wyngarde.” –Quicksilver [Threatening tone]
Mastermind releases Linda who scurries into a corner cowering in fear.
Wanda turns to Toad and Blob …
“You know you weren’t supposed o leave the yard. “He” would like a word with you too.
The two mutants are visibly terrified.
Tell the old man that spanking is gonna have to wait …. We have company. –Mastermind
Some television monitors in the railroad car have been jerry rigged into a surveillance system.
Ext. Ariel Shot of the Railroad
Angel approaches the yard from a high altitude, while Iceman slides in a little bit lower towing Marvel Girl & Cyclops on an ice slide.
Beast bounds across the tops of a number of rail cars.
RAILROAD MUTANT BATTLE THEME:
• Mastermind emerges from between two cars and gives Angel extreme vertigo causing him to plummet to the earth.
• Iceman saves Angel by creating a mound of snow to cushion his fall.
• Blob pushes a rail car into the ice slide smashing it and sending the x-men sprawling. Marvel Girl responds by levitating a hunk of metal and hurling it at the towering mutant.
• The Scarlett Witch redirects the metal with her Hex Power, causing it to strike Iceman. Iceman is down.
• Blob runs towards Marvel Girl causing slight tremors (due to his massive weight) as he raises his massive fist to strike.
• He is knocked back ten feet by an optic blast from Cyclops. “You caught me-by surprise Slim.” The Blob slowly rises to his feet as subsequent optic blasts strike him. “Hey in case you hadn’t noticed four eyes … nothing can move me when I don’t wanna be moved.”
• Toad leaps over the Blob and into Cyclops with a super powered drop kick that sends him flying into a rail car unconscious. Jean runs to Cyclops’ side as Toad initiates a second leap …
• Beast caches Toad mid-air with a kick of his own which causes the young mutant to land on top a rail car a bit addled. “Where’s Linda?!!”-He demands. Toad gives him a sudden kick which nearly knocks him off the car, as he responds … “Don’t you mean-Where’s what’s left of her?” Beast yells as Toad leaps of from the rail road car. Beast jumps after him forgetting his teammates.
• Marvel Girl shakes Cyclops as she notices the Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver standing in the distance passively watching them. Mastermind emerges on the other side of her followed by Toad. Marvel Girl realizes that she and the groggy Cyclops are surrounded.
• She shakes Cyclops … “Scott!! You’ve gotta get up!! We’re in trouble!! Cyclops sits up surveying the situation and instinctively goes for his visor.
• Quicksilver rushes Marvel Girl and Cyclops snatching her and stealing his visor. “JEAN!!”- Cyclops. “Scott!!”- Marvel Girl. Quicksilver puts his hand over her mouth. (Close up: Scott uses his ears to locate Jean.) Marvel Girl bites Quicksilver’s hands and yells –“Six o’clock Scott!!”
• Cyclops fires a wild blast through his fingers which unintentionally heads directly at Scarlett Witch. Quicksilver uses his speed to swap his sister with Jean who is knocked unconscious.
• “Jean? ... Jean! JEAN?!!!” Cyclops is unnerved by the silence that greets him.
• Blob has crushed the opening in Cyclops’ visor and hands it to Quicksilver. Quicksilver rushes Cyclops and places the crushed visor on his features again.
• Quicksilver blitzes Cyclops with a flurry of strikes and kicks. Cyclops curls into a fetal position under the pressure of the attack.
• “That’s enough Pietro!!”-Scarlett Witch. He immediately stops attacking Cyclops at the sound of his sister’s voice.
• Cyclops recognizes that their voices are coming from the opposite
direction of Jean and quickly rips off his visor.
Cut to: Cerebro
“No!!!”-Professor X is traumatized by the dismantling of his team and their trauma during the attack.
• A massive optic blast levels everything in its path. The side of the yard facing Cyclops is completely flattened. Cyclops kneels in the midst of a small crater holding Jean (His eyes are tightly shut.).
• Ariel Shot of the rail yard engulfed in a massive dust cloud. A fleet of police cars and emergency vehicles approach the area.
• Shots of the partially gutted terminal as throngs of people injured and otherwise evacuate the area.
• Beast has returned to the site of the mutant skirmish and is distraught at the devastation before him. Angel flies down yelling at him (Where were you?!!). He helps Iceman to his feet as they both notice the assembled Brotherhood standing amidst dust cloud unaffected by Cyclops’ optic beam.
• Strange burgundy looking electrical energy crackles around them suggesting some sort of force field.
MAGNETO EMERGES FROM THE DUST CLOUD.
“I thought you lived in a school.”- Magneto.
Magneto and his Brotherhood disappear into the dust cloud leaving the defeated X-men.
The departed mutants are quickly replaced by throngs of police and swat team members who point weapons at the downed X-men team.
Their eyes suddenly roll up into their heads as the officers go into a catatonic state. One of the officers speaks to the X-men.
“I can’t hold this many people for long … Return to the mansion.”
Professor X has stopped the crowd.
Mansion / Medical Bay:
Scott stands over Jean ignoring everything else in the room. Iceman tries to comfort him by explaining that they weren’t ready for the Brotherhood.
Professor X, Hank & Warren (Angel) all engage in a three way argument. Warren accuses Hank of abandoning the team for his “girlfriend”.
“What team?”-Hank
Hank storms out of the medical bay tossing his cowl on the floor.
“Hank!!”- Professor X
“Let him go Professor... We’re better off as a quartet anyway.”-Warren.
EMPIRE STATE UNIVERSITY:
Students gather around puzzled that Hank’s class door is closed and locked. A “CLASS CANCELLED TODAY” sign is on the door.
UNIVERSIY LAB:
Hank is working on his mutant formula and talking into a recorder. He reveals that his current research has found and isolated the mutant genome. He holds up and examines a beaker containing a liquid extract of the mutant genome.
“This approximates everything that makes us who we are. I must find a way to reverse everything that makes us who unique.-god forgive me.”-Hank.
As he places the recorder on the desk, he finds Linda’s purse staring him in the face. Toad sits in one of the desks facing him.
“Care for a trade?”- Toad.
Toad notices that Hank is holding a beaker full of strange liquid and attempts to grab it with his extendable tongue. Hank struggles with Toad and reaches for a bunson burner holding it up to Toad’s tongue. Toad retracts his tongue causing Hank to spill the solution on himself.
The chemical has a STRANGE REACTION when it comes in contact with Hank. Energy momentarily crackles around his body.
Toad hops over the counter and sloppily stuffs Hank’s notes into the pockets of his jacket. He heads for the lab doors when he hears an animalistic growl.
Hank jumps over the counter and pins Toad to the floor demanding to know where Linda is being held. Toad screams when he looks at Hank’s face and calls out to Blob.
Blob pushes a wall of books over on Hank as Toad kicks him off with a powerful thrust of his legs.
Hank jumps emerges from the mound of books leaping towards Toad. –Only o be slammed into the floor by a powerful swipe of Blob’s arm. Hank lies embedded into the hardwood floor unconscious.
Toad laughs and hops out of a window. Blob leaves through the hole he made in the wall as a number of school alarms sound.
Hank’s students and school faculty run into the damaged classroom and survey the damage. Some football players help Hank to his feet.
A female student suddenly screams as she looks at Hank.
The Football players who were assisting him recoil half falling over upturned furniture.
-Hank now resembles a massive blue furred, bestial looking humanoid!-
He looks at his hands and places his clawed finger up o his face.
Hank shoves a throng of screaming students out of his way as he bolts runs from the class moving in an apelike manner.
EXT. EMPIRE STATE UNIVERSITY
Masses of students and other staff run screaming across campus and away from Hank as he attempts to make it to his car.
He is arrested by campus police brandishing weapons and beat with batons.
INT. X-Mansion / Medical Bay
Jean awakens from her bed to see Scott exiting the room. She calls out to him and asks him to return. He apologizes for hurting her and worries about his future believing Professor X will disband the team. They begin to bond when Warren enters the room. Scott excuses himself and runs into Iceman in the hallway.
“Come on dude, we gotta go.”- Bobby
“What’s going on?”- Scott
“It’s Hank … He needs our help. The Professor is having the car brought around.”-Bobby
Montage Theme “Strawberry Alarm Clock”
The following images are set to this music.
• Shot of Scott and Bobby runny down the stairs into Xavier’s Bentley.
• Shot of a raucous crowd of people picketing outside the police station. Police struggle to hold the protesters back.
• Shot of Warren comforting Jean, placing his arm around her and staring in the opposite direction.
• Shot of Hank crouched down in his jail cell as Charles Xavier sits outside the jail bars.
• Shot of the devastated railroad yard. A single passenger car moves off into the horizon line magnetically drawn along the track. A disheveled looking Linda Donaldson is found abandoned near the railroad.
FADE OUT:
RAILROAD CAR
The Brotherhood stand around in the car waiting. Toad counts the rest of his stolen money while Blob watches. Unknown to them, the other members
are staring in their direction. Magneto emerges from a private room at the end of the car. Everyone turns their attention towards him except Toad.
Blob nudges his partner in crime.
Toad looks in Magneto’s direction and shoves the money back into his satchel bag.
“I would like to congratulate you on retrieving Dr. McCoy’s research notes Toad… Job-well done.”- Magneto
He starts clapping his hands and the other members follow suit. Toad smiles showing his yellow teeth.
Magneto stops clapping abruptly followed by everyone else. Toad realizes what’s coming and starts to get visibly nervous. Blob is clueless.
“Why do we “do” what we do … Toad?”-Magneto
“To get-rich?”-Toad
Magneto asks again as he takes a few steps towards the frightened mutant.
“Why do we “do” what we do? TELL ME –Boy?!!”
Hey Man- Mag-net-o … No need to get bent out of shape. We’re helping the mutants …right?”-Toad
“That is right Mortimer.” – Magneto
“Its Toad man … Just Toad.”- Toad
“No, Mortimer Toynbee… THAT is your BIRTH NAME, is it not?”-Magneto
“Look man, I left all that behind when I joined the brotherhood.”- Toad
“Or so you would have us believe Mortimer … You did “rob” an armored truck recently didn’t you?”- Magneto
“Hey, I was gonna cut you in Magneto … honest.”- Toad
Toad hands the satchel bag to Magneto who snatches it from his grasp. Magneto tightens his fists around the bag. He suddenly strikes Toad over the head with it a number of times as the young mutant screams before flinging the bag in the corner scattering the money.
“You have no grasp of what we do here in the brotherhood Mortimer. You are little more than a nuisance I allow to exist. You are a petty criminal with a miniscule grasp of the very world around you. You sicken and disgust me.”- Magneto
“I got you those notes didn’t I? Where would your brotherhood be without that huh?”- Toad
Magneto looks out the corner of his eye.
Suddenly the room comes alive as metal objects fly from all corners binding and wrapping the screaming mutant into a living cocoon of metal.
“Toad- You did deliver he notes to the brotherhood. They were in such a disheveled state it will take me weeks to decipher them. You have been nursing that money bag like a newborn child since you stole it … But my notes are delivered in a wrinkled greasy mass. What you care about is quite obvious-boy.”- Magneto
He didn’t mean to mess up Magneto. Please don’t hurt him, he’s my friend.”- Blob
“Well then you can take care of him …. I banish you both from this cabal.”-Magneto
The wall of the railroad car parts into a spherical opening and Toad flies out of the hole in a blur of speed.
COUNTRYSIDE / EVENING
The metal encased Toad hits a hillside and rolls down the brush to the bottom of a ravine… Blob follows shortly in a similar fashion.
Blob bursts his restraints and watched the railroad car move off towards the horizon line.
Tears run down his face.
SIBERIA / MILITTARY BASE & NUCLEAR SILO
The base is little more than a small ratty looking hangar. A few soldiers’ mill about going through the motions.
INSIDE
The interior of the hangar is a façade for a nuclear missile. Some soldiers are playing cards near the observation when tremors begin to shake the base. Some of the soldiers are knocked from their seats. Some technical personnel begin checking the instruments. One individual sleeping in his quarters is shaken from his bunk bed and falls headfirst on the cold floor.
• Techs attempt to stop the missile but are knocked unconscious by Quicksilver who speeds through the facility disabling the military personnel.
• Soviet personnel attempt to radio out and are disabled by an electrical jolt courtesy of the Scarlett Witch (Insert).
The base personnel have run to the observation booth.
THEME: MAGNETO STEALS A NUCLEAR MISSILE
The nuclear missile is steadily rising upward towards the top of the silo. The silo’s massive doors suddenly open and the missile clears the facility.
The remaining personnel watch the missile just “float” away as no one realizes multiple explosives have been left by Quicksilver during his run through the facility.
The Soviet base explodes.
X-Mansion
Scott, Warren and Bobby watch a newscast detailing the tense international situation as a direct result of Magneto’s actions. Warren gets angry and leaves the mansion in costume for a night flight.
Jean carries a tray of food down the hall to Hank’s room. The door is closed and numerous untouched trays litter the outside of his door.
She knocks at his door and he yells for her to go away. She asks why he hasn’t been taking multiple calls to the mansion from Linda.
Hank doesn’t answer … Jean uses her telekinesis to open the door and enter his room. Hank (Now in his more familiar advanced blue state.) rages at her and runs her from the room.
Professor X comforts Jean telling her about the Greek myth of Icarus and who he flew too close to the sun as an analogy for Beast’s problems.
He stresses that it is important that the X-men remain a family first and foremost.
Xavier apologizes, taking blame for the team’s earlier failure in that he limited his team by placing psychic blocks in Jean’s mind to make her telepathic abilities almost non-existent. She asks him if he’s going to disband the X-men.
“What kind of teacher would I be if I gave up on my students?”
• Xavier opens Jean’s mind with his considerable telepathic abilities.
• She gets a psychic rush as her mind begins to expand beyond the room, the mansion, it’s grounds and the nearby city.
FADE OUT:
DANGER ROOM SEQUENCE:
• Scott learns to ricochet his optic blasts.
• Xavier teaches Jean to create a force field with her telekinesis. Xavier blind folds her and has a machine launch multiple tennis balls at her from all angles until she finally creates a force bubble.
• Xavier takes Scott to an airfield to “teach him how to fly.” He gives him some fatherly advice regarding Warren & Jean.
Bobby visits Hank in his room and calls him on being a coward. He chides Hank into leaving the safety of his room and seeing Linda.
LINDA’S HOME:
Hank and Bobby attempt to visit Linda at her home, but she is horrified at Hank’s new appearance and slams the door in their faces. Bobby apologizes and Hank tells him there is nothing to apologize about. They leave as throngs of onlookers stare and point.
SUBURBAN NEIGHBORHOOD / Night:
Angel flies over the area looking for trouble. In a nearby mall parking lot he spots a lynch mob chasing what appears to be a little girl. The little girl gets hit in the back with a rock and he crowd swarms her. He swoops down and snatches her from the clutches of the mob.
He discovers that the girl is a mutant with an alien (think grey) appearance.
“Are you an Angel?”
He doesn’t answer … He flies the girl back to the X-mansion where she expires as he and the other X-men look on. Warren breaks down as the other X-men comfort him.
RUSSIAN VILLAGE / UST-ORDYNSKI COLLECTIVE / DAY:
Magneto (civilian clothes) stands on a hill overlooking a small village. He watches the military gather to confront him with a pair of binoculars.
• Wanda and Pietro are also present. She is worried about what he is going to do. Magneto assures her that his intentions are benevolent and asks Pietro if he planted the device.
• A strange device made from the stolen soviet missile sits in a nearby barn. Some soldiers discover it.
MAGNETO DETONATES THE DEVICE:
The results are immediate … and a failure.
Wanda is horrified as Magneto shrugs off the results of his actions, talking about what he’ll do right next time. She confronts him telling him that his actions are “evil.”
“My dear … We are the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants after all.”-Magneto
Magneto recounts his time in a Nazi concentration camp and talks of man’s inherent destructive nature in creating the atom bomb.
“Will you stand against me? Your very father for the humans who can’t even decide whether they envy or fear you? … But would kill you all the same?
“Father is right Wanda … Remember what happened to mother.”- Quicksilver.
Wanda looks back towards the devastated village and sadly follows her family.
X-MANSION / WAR ROOM:
Xavier emerges from Cerebro and informs the X-men that he could find Magneto but that he has discovered a trace of Toad’s consciousness.
FIELD / DAY:
The X-men find Blob sitting in a field crying. The Brotherhood has abandoned him and Toad is completely encased in metal. Marvel Girl uses her new found telepathic abilities to scan the enshrouded Toad and realizes he is still alive. Cyclops frees him with a narrow optic blast.
Jean scans the frightened mutant’s mind.
“He doesn’t know anything.”-Marvel Girl
THEME FOR MAGNETO’S HIDEOUT:
ABANDONED DAM / DAM:
Wanda emerges from a hatch in the long since abandoned structure and stands alone starring at the horizon line. She slowly removes her tiara as tears roll down her cheeks.
CEREBRO:
Professor X makes a mental connection to Wanda.
“It’s alright child. You are very brave. Magnus should be very proud of the daughter he’s raised.”- Prof. X
ABANDONED DAM / DAM:
Wanda slowly turns to find her father looking at her. There is genuine hurt in his eyes. Pietro stands at his side tearing up. She slowly walks toward them.
FADE OUT:
X-JET / SUNSET:
The X-Men fly to Magneto’s hideout for a final showdown with Magneto and the Brotherhood. Xavier briefs them on Magneto’s strengths and weaknesses. He tells Jean telepathically that it will be up to her to keep the team linked mentally as Magneto has the ability to disrupt his telepathy with his power of magnetism.
“Whatever happens … Remember this .. the X-Men are a family first and foremost.”-Professor X
Beast sits in the cockpit working on a small device.
THEME FOR FINAL BATTLE WITH THE BROTHERHOOD:
ABANDONED DAM / DAM / INTERIOR:
The X-men approach and enter the dam unabated. Once inside the structure, the hatch magnetically seals them inside. Hank hands Cyclops the device he was working on in the plane.
• Quicksilver suddenly attacks, blitzing the team and pushing Cyclops and Marvel Girl over the railing sending them plummeting.
• Iceman falls down several flights of stairs cracking his icy shell.
• Angel grabs Cyclops but misses Marvel Girl.
• Marvel Girl creates a telekinetic bubble to save herself and levitates back up to the top of the railing.
• Cyclops orders Angel to drop him on a lower level and proceeds to run down the stairs.
• Pietro stops moving for a moment to verbally gloat calling the team “X-Babies.”
• Iceman hurls insults back at Quicksilver who speeds towards him only to run into a foot thick clear wall of ice, Bobby has erected. He is stunned for a moment as Iceman lowers the temperature in the dam and ices the stairwell.
• Quicksilver attempts o run up the stairwell but slips and slides into another wall … this one a telekinetic construct created by Marvel Girl.
• Quicksilver jumps over the railing and is immediately hit by a full strength optic blast courtesy of Cyclops. Cyclops stands at the bottom of the stairwell with his hand up to his visor.
• Quicksilver is propelled throw the roof and miles away as he lands in the brush of the surrounding area. He doesn’t move.
• Angel flies through the facility and is fired on by some hired mercenaries. He takes out a number of the men, but is hit in the shoulder by a stray bullet.
• Iceman creates a barrage of snowballs and snow to disable the rest of the mercenaries.
• The X-men find Wanda in a room sitting in a chair with a metal band around her skull. The band is decreasing in circumference. Cyclops removes it with a narrow optic beam. Wanda falls forward, unconscious but alive. Jean scans the room and picks up a thick metal cup. She flings it at a wall. Mastermind falls over unconscious. They leave Wanda to find Magneto.
Magneto has finished working on his next weapon and fires it from a makeshift silo in the dam. The X-men arrive in time to see the missile launch.
Angel grabs Beast and flies after he missile. Magneto sends multiple objects at them and magnetically closes the top of the silo after the missile. Cyclops blasts the roof off of the makeshift silo freeing Angel and Beast.
THEME FOR FINAL FIGHT WITH MAGNETO
They turn to Magneto …
“Where is that missile going?”-Cyclops
“Why merry old New York City, 1407 Graymalkin Lane in Salem Center to be exact. Sending my regards to Charles as it were.” –Magneto as he puts on his signature helmet.
• Cyclops fires on Magneto who deflects the beam with a force field of his own.
• Iceman attempts to freeze the villain only to have him convert the cold into an electrical charge and zap him.
• Marvel erects a telekinetic bubble around her teammates and herself.
• Magneto bombards the bubble with steel girders and other heavy objects manipulated magnetically.
Angel flies Beast close enough to jump onto the missile. Beast uses his claws to move along the surface of the missile and ultimately force himself inside it. Once inside, Beast disables the mutant device and pulls out a number of wires causing the missile to fall out of the air.
He jumps out of the missile and Angel catches him with his bad arm barely keeping both of the men aloft as he missile harmlessly explodes in the ocean below.
Back at the Magneto’s hideout:
• Jean attempts o telekinetically remove Magneto’s helmet. He uses his considerable power to fight her off while simultaneously compressing the bubble around the remaining X-men.
• Iceman tries to help Marvel Girl by creating an ice globe construct to counter Magneto. Through their psychic link, Cyclops mentally tells Marvel Girl to raise the bottom of the force field. He has the device Beast gave him and slips it into the magnetic field. It immediately jets through the air and sticks to Magneto's chest. Metal objects begin to fly back towards Magneto and he finds himself encased in a sphere of metal. [Note: Hank's device reversed Magneto's ability.]
• Cyclops banks his optic beam at a forty five degree angle and stuns Magneto knocking his helmet off.
• Marvel Girl telekinetically disposes of the helmet by making it fly out of the silo and into the ocean.
“You will pay dearly for your insolence children. You will be taught not to interfere in the affairs of Gods.” –Magneto
“Really now Erick- Have you become so bitter and alone that you would delude yourself with visions of grandeur? You are no-god.” –Professor X
“Charles?”-Magneto
Professor X suddenly appears as a barely visible ghost image before Magneto.
“You Erick Lehnsherr… Deus Maximus … Magnus Eisenhardt, despite all the names you have called yourself … Are a scared, pathetic little boy no better than the evil men who once decided your fate.” –Professor X
Professor X stands in front of Magneto as the villain recoils in fear.
He measures his steps as he walks towards a cowering Magneto and places his palm on the mutant’s forehead.
-THE SCREEN GOES BLACK-
FADE IN:
NAZI CONCENTRATION CAMP:
Erick finds himself in a disgusting hovel of a cell. He looks up to see Xavier starring at him through the bars.
“Charles ?!! …CHARLES?!! NO!! .. YOU CANT LEAVE ME HERE!!”
Xavier fades away like a ghost.
Overhead shot of Magneto lying in a fetal position in his cell as the camera dollies outward revealing it to be a mental construct.
ABANDONED DAM / DAM / INTERIOR:
Magneto falls over comatose.
He X-men regroup and leave the area taking Wanda with them.
EXT. ABANDONED DAM / DAM:
The coast guard and two navy battleships approach the Dam from the ocean as the X-Jet flies away overhead.
FADE OUT:
POST CREDIT SEQUENCE:
X-MANSION:
Wanda awakens to find Xavier sitting at her bedside. She asks what he intends to do with her.
“That’s all up to you Ms. Maximoff. There’s Somebody here to meet you.”- Xavier
“Well Good evening, what is it? Miss-Max-i-moff? … Depending on how things go, I think the U.S. government can commute your sentence.”- Nick Fury
“What do you want?” –Wanda
“I want you to be a part of the Avenger’s Initiative.”-Nick Fury
