FANCAST: The Amazing Spider-Man
"With great power comes a great beatdown!"
Directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World)
Based on stories by various Marvel Comics writers
Shiloh Fernandez is Peter Parker / Spider-Man
Shiloh is a charismatic young actor, who could play the cocky, wise-cracking Spidey very well, and I can practically hear his voice blurting out some of Spidey's most infamous one-liners. Plus, He has the right build and height. I'd like most of Spidey's stunts to be done by Levi Meeuwenberg.
Candice Accola is Gwen Stacy
She just screams Gwen to me. I can't explain it, but if you've seen her act, or in an interview, you may know what I mean. She's cute, and bubbly, and is also a fine actress.
Chace Crawford is Harry Osborn
He does a good job at playing the "Golden Boy" on Gossip Girl, and really put his acting chops on display in Twelve. Harry wouldn't become Green Goblin in the series.
Deborah Ann Woll is Mary Jane Watson
Deborah is a great actress, and is absolutely gorgeous, a big contrast to Kirsten Dunst, the MJ of Raimi's Trilogy.
Rutger Hauer is Uncle Ben
I've been wanting to include him in one of my casts for some time. He's a great actor from way back. He could own this role, no doubt.
Blythe Danner is Aunt May
In my opinion, Aunt May is best when portrayed as a little cooky, and for that, Danner fits the bill extremely well.
Mark Harmon is Captain George Stacy
Harmon often plays men of the law, and always does it well. I actually didn't realize just how much he looked the part until I put the pic together. It's nuts. Here Stacy would work as Spidey's Gordon, like in The Spectacular Spider-Man animated series.
Alex Pettyfer is Flash Thompson
He's a decent actor, who I think he could do the role justice in all aspects. I can see him as the bully/jock Flash, and as the Flash who loses his legs in the war, and becomes Agent Venom.
John C. McGinley is J Jonah Jameson
McGinley's character Dr. Cox on Scrubs was brash, demanding, and an absolute blast to watch tear his co-workers new ones often. J.K. Simmons is near impossible to replace. I think McGinley could play the role similiarly, but slightly less over the top.
Autumn Reeser is Betty Brant
This was a no-brainer. Reeser would kick this role's ass, like she did with Katie on the short lived No Ordinary Family.
Jason Isaacs is Norman Osborn / The Green Goblin
Issacs is great at playing sinister characters, and it doesn't get much more sinister than megalomaniacal industrialist Norman Osborn, except for maybe his counterpart, The Green Goblin.
Jensen Ackles is Eddie Brock / Venom
This was a rather tough role to cast. I wanted someone who not only looks the part, but also whose voice I could imagine distortedly coming out of Venom. I chose Ackles. He meets those specifications, and more.
Ethan Hawke is Dr. Curt Connors / The Lizard
Another no-brainer. Hawke's an intense actor, who could bring that into play as the man obsessed with getting his hand back.
Tony Todd is Mysterio
Todd is an unnerving, creepy actor. Specifically in the Candyman and Final Destination films. I think it'd be cool if Mysterio was purposely portrayed as kind of a cheesy horror movie villain. His identity would never be revealed.
Mads Mikkelsen is Doctor Octopus
Mikkelsen could keep the character from coming off as too campy. He has that glare down pat, and could play the role very dark, and callous.
Elisha Cuthbert is Black Cat
Yep, Jack Bauer's little girl. She's crazy hot, and can play the role of the playful seductress very well, as shown in The Girl Next Door.
Scott Adkins is Kraven The Hunter
Adkins is a great martial artist, and is not too shabby as far as acting goes either. With some fine-tuning he could do a pretty solid accent as well.
Christopher Heyerdahl is The Vulture
You may know him from Supernatural, Smallville, or even Twilight. He has quite a bit of experience as creepy, but intelligent villains, so this role isn't much of a stretch at all.
Zack Ward is Cletus Kasady / Carnage
I've seen this guy play nothing but small roles, but he did stand out to me in Freddy vs. Jason, despite having a very minor role. He was rather scary when "possessed" by Freddy Krueger.
Adam Baldwin is Flint Marko / Sandman
Baldwin was good on Firefly, and certainly looks the part. I liked Thomas Haden Church's portrayal, and would like to see Baldwin do something like that.
Matt Willig is Aleksei Sytsevich / Rhino
Rhino is a brute villain, and not a lot of acting skills are required to play him, but Willig is a solid actor and is massive, standing at 6 foot 8, and weighing over 300lbs.
