Those already cast:
Superman/Clark Kent/Kal-El - Henry Cavill (Red Riding Hood 2006, Immortals)
I'm glad they decided to go with Cavill. I never heard of him until he was cast as Supes, but he looks too perfect.
Lois Lane - Amy Adams (Enchanted, The Fighter)
I still feel mixed about her being in the role. I love her as an actress and all, but to me she just doesn't seem to fit as Lois (Especially since she's a decade older than Cavill and a decade younger than Diane Lane), and personally I would've preferred Olivia Wilde or Emily Blunt. We'll see what Snyder does with her though.
Jonathan 'Pa' Kent - Kevin Costner (Dances With Wolves, JFK)
Harrison Ford was my original choice, but after it was announced that Costner was in talks, I immediately changed my mind about Ford. Costner's a good actor, and he seems like an excellent choice to play Supes' dad.
Martha 'Ma' Kent - Diane Lane (Judge Dredd, Secretariat)
I'll admit that this seems like a pretty interesting choice. Lane seems way too young for the role, and only a decade older than Amy Adams. Then again, CGI her with elder stuff, and we'll see what she can do.
Now on to the actual 'fan' cast.
Young Clark Kent - Josh Hutcherson (The Kids Are Alright, Bridge To Terabithea)
I'm glad that Hutcherson didn't get the role of Spider-Man (I like him as an actor, but Spidey? No thanks), but he seems like he could do the younger Man Of Steel well.
Others I considered: None
Allies:
Perry White - JK Simmons (Spider-Man series, Juno)
Simmons was pretty much my first choice for the role. He can play that cranky, obnoxious boss to perfection. As long as he doesn't make White seem too much like J Jonah Jameson, he would NAIL the role.
Others I considered: None
Jimmy Olsen - Michael Cera (Juno, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World)
I admittedly haven't seen any films with Cera, but I saw a few fan casts pop up with him in the role, and he looks like he'd rock it.
Others I considered: Jesse Eisenburg
Lana Lang - Emma Roberts (Valentine's Day, Nancy Drew)
I came across Roberts one day, and after some consideration I was like "Sure, why not?".
Others I considered: Linsday Lohan (very briefly), Hilary Duff
Supergirl/Kara Zor-El - Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, You Again)
I didn't need to think much for this one. Bell's a sweet actress, and I can easily see her as Supergirl.
Others I considered: Taylor Swift
Jor-El - Liam Neeson (K-19: The Widowmaker, Taken)
This was kind of tough to decide, but Neeson is so good of an actor that I can put him as Darkseid and still be satisfied.
Others I considered: Jeremy Irons
Lara Lor-Van - Tea Leoni (Jurassic Park III, Bad Boys)
After some serious searching, I came across Leoni one day and immediately was convinced she would do well.
Others I considered: Michelle Pfieffer
Villains:
Lex Luthor - Daniel Day-Lewis (There Will Be Blood, Last Of The Mohicans)
Mark Strong was my original choice, but since he's caught up as Sinestro in the Green Lantern franchise, I decided to pick someone else. After a lot of consideration, I decided on the Oscar nominated Day-Lewis. Tan his skin some and he'll nail it.
Others I considered: Billy Zane, Mark Strong
Doomsday - CGI (voiced by Frank Welker?)
We need a Death Of Superman live action adaptation. It's a chillingly dark story, and one I can see being a box office success.
Others I considered: None
Brainiac - Viggo Mortensen (Lord Of The Rings series, GI Jane)
Viggo's been heavily rumored to play General Zod, but (should he be in MOS) what if he's actually playing Brainiac (who's rumored to be the main villain)? I can see it happening. Ralph Fiennes was my original choice, but I'm saving him for an update of my Justice League cast.
Others I considered: Ralph Fiennes
Darkseid - Michael Clarke Duncan (Daredevil, The Green Mile)
I was hesitant of casting Duncan into a CBM after his bad track record for Daredevil, but I honestly can see him quite easily as the dude. Darkseid is a severely underrated character, and he can be quite a challenge to Supes.
Others I considered: Jeremy Irons, Michael Ironside
General Zod - Gerard Butler (300, The Phantom Of The Opera)
Zod is one of the most rumored villains for MOS, and while I'd rather he not be in the first movie, I can want him in any future sequel. Butler's a good actor, and I hope those rumors of his being eyed for Zod are true (plus, he has worked with Snyder before, so that's always a plus).
Others I considered: Viggo Mortensen, Josh Brolin
Bizarro - Edgar Ramirez (Vantage Point, The Bourne Ultimatium)
Bizarro seems to be hinted at for MOS, and the rumor of Ramirez being eyed at for the role seems to confirm that. I mean...look at him and Cavill. They look an awful lot alike.
Others I considered: Tom Welling
Metallo - Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception, : The Rise Of Cobra)
I'm still hesitant about this choice, but JGL has proven to be an actor of many capabilities, and I can honestly see him in the role without much effort.
Others I considered: Sam Worthington
Bruno Mannheim - Benicio del Toro (Sin City, The Wolfman)
I'm honestly very unfamiliar with both characters, but Toro looks like Mannheim well enough. I'm interested in seeing this happen.
Others I considered: None
Well, there's my cast for the new Superman franchise. Next fancast will probably be either an X-Men reboot or an update of my JLA film (that doesn't coincide with the current Batman, Superman or Green Lantern franchises). Shout out any suggestions in the usual place below.
