Green Lantern Movie Fancast

In a world where that Ryan Reynolds movie never happened...

Ryan Gosling as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern
A truly underappreciated actor, Gosling is not good for just his looks but also has the acting chops to portray an amazing Hal jordan in my opinion.

Mila Kunis as Carol Ferris/Star Sapphire
Mila has proven to me that she is able to play great female roles besides the typical damsel-in-distress. She's my pick for playing Carol Ferris who eventually becomes the villain Star Sapphire.

John Cho as Thomas Kalmaku
Hal Jordan's mechanic and the man who chronicles Hal's superhero journies after successfully deducing his identity. Smart, capable and always respectfully depicted best friend, eventually becoming a business executive and more.

Common as John Stewart
Given a chance due to his work on Hell on Wheels, Common is my choice for John Stewart. No big role here just a quick cameo with his name said. This cameo could very much indeed open up room for a John Stewart spin-off though.

Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow
CBMs are making big moves by bringing in TV series characters to the big screen and DC should hurry up if they want to catch up with Marvel. My suggestion is Stephen Ammell coming to the screen as Green Arrow. Stephen does amazing work on the show and seeing as how Arrow has been a supporting character of Green Lantern, they could work that in somehow.

John Hurt as the voices of the Guardians of the Universe
A man with a golden voice that you may not recognize instantly. John is able to deliver a calm demeanor and quickly transition into an angry tirade at the drop of a dime which is why I feel he is the perfect man to voice the superiors to the Green Lantern.

Hugo Weaving as Thaal Sinestro
A former Green Lantern and mentor to Hal Jordan. Sinestro was cast to the anti-matter universe for his dictatorship over planets and species alike. By exiling Sinestro to a world ruled by evil beings who specifically hated him as a Green Lantern, the Guardians hoped to humble him. However, their attempt at punishment would be a major miscalculation. Sinestro believed himself to have been wronged by his former masters and now hated them.

John Goodman as the voice of Kilowog
Enemy-turned-ally of Hal. Kilwog saw himself as the most prized member of the Green Lantern Corps and questioned why they needed the earthling Hal. Kilwog eventually began to respect Hal during the battle with Sinestro and pledged his loyalty to the newest Green Lantern.

Ving Rhames as the voice of Larfleeze
A post-credits scene sees Larfleeze gazing into his orange light and reciting his infamous oath.
"What's mine is mine
and mine and mine,
And mine, and mine, and mine!
Not yours!"

Green Lantern did a lot of things wrong but I thought Blake Lively as Carol Ferris was a good choice, plus I'm not a huge Mila Kunis fan.
Aside from that I'd be fine with the rest

The one good thing about GL was the casting. I thought everyone fit their roles very well.

But this has some decent choices.

Blake was great as Carol. I thought she got across the independence that a woman in her career needs and she had sizzling chemistry with Ryan (quite obviously)

Everything you said about Ryan Gosling is correct. However, you conveniently left out that he has said that he won't do a CBM.

@CherryBomb let's say that that GL film got a franchise. Blake doesn't have the..."assets" to pull off Star Sapphire. She's awfully "flat" if you catch my drift.

Are you joking?

As far as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern Ryan Gosling is just not who I would envision as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern even though he would make a great Green Lantern, I see Ryan Gosling as more Flash than anything...now as for who I would have went with as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern I would have went with Chris Pine or Garrett Hedlund

Mila Kunis as Carol Ferris, I would definitely agree with you on this pick she would be perfect in this role

Same with Hugo Weaving as Sinestro, I really love him as Sinestro and I really do hope if there is ever a reboot that he is cast as the character

Same with Common as John Stewart, he would be perfect as John Stewart/Green Lantern so I agree with you on this pick

As Oliver Queen/Green Arrow I would go with Charlie Hunnam because not only is he a fan favorite for the role but based off the comics he actually looks like he could be Green Arrow

As the Guardians of the Universe I would definitely go with Sir Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart or Terence Stamp, most likely Stamp would be my pick

John Cho as Kalmuku, he would be perfect

As Kilowog, I would go with Ving Rhames in this role instead

As Larfleeze, instead of Ving Rhames in this role I would go with Jude Law

Ryan Gosling as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern??? I'm not a fan of that choice but the rest of your choices are good.

I don't like your Ferris choice either, but what is with you all praising Blake Lively as Carol?!? She was AWFUL. Just as bad as Hector Hammond. Blake is nothing but eye candy and lacks the intimdiation a fighter pilot like Carol needs.

Interesting choice for Larfleeze. He very much like Gollum, so I've always thought he would get a similar, snake-like voice. But Marcellus? Hmmm

@TheRaven

Don't think she can act? Watch her in The Town, Private Lives if Pippa Lee and especially Hick, she's very talented and only getting better.

@DrunkenPirateNukem You realize that Mila Kunis is alot more than Meg? She's impressed me and alot of others with her roles including the Wicked Witch in Oz the Great and Powerful, Lily in Black Swan and Book of Eli.

I thought Blake Lively was a good Carol Ferris. I actually enjoyed most of the main cast for the GL movie, and would keep it all if possible.

I am not a Gosling fan. His acting is very wooden. He's more of a stand there and look pretty type than he is a good actor.

The only choice I really liked was Sinestro. Other than that no.

Idk why in the hell everybody suddenly likes Blake Lively as Carol, she was terrible in the movie. Easily amongst the worst parts of the movie.

The only one I disagree with is Ving Rhames as Larfleeze. Larfleeze to me is sort of a sniveling character, Ving Rhames's strong slow voice would be better for someone like kilowog.
