This is a fan cast for one of my more favorite comic series, Hellblazer. I hope there is a reboot soon, with a stellar cast, along the lines of this one.
Reason: He is one of my favorite directors right now and I think he would be perfect to helm a
Hellblazer film! His credits include
Pan’s Labyrinth as well as
Hellboy and Hellboy II: The Golden Army.
Reason For Casting: While not the most original casting, I think the role as John Constantine would be right up Paul Bettany’s alley, given his roles in
Priest and
Legion. He is also known for appearing in the films
A Beautiful Mind,
The Da Vinci Code, as well as having a cameo in
Iron Man,
Iron Man 2, and
The Avengers as J.A.R.V.I.S.
Reason For Casting: Warren Brown is a solid actor who I first saw in the television show
Luther. In addition, he has also been in
Hollyoaks. I have confidence in Warren Brown’s skills as an actor to bring a new levity to the role of John Constantine’s best friend.
Reason For Casting: Mackenzie Crook is best known for his role in the British television series
The Office as well as having a role in the first three
Pirates of the Caribbean films. He is a great actor and would be able to pull off Gary Lester fairly well.
Reason For Casting: Probably best recognizable from his role as Steven Obanno in
Casino Royale as well as a reoccurring role in the television show
24. He’s a fantastic actor who should be more mainstream, but that’s just my opinion.
Reason For Casting: Ginnifer Goodwin, best known for her role in the television series,
Big Love, now stars in the series
Once Upon A Time as Snow White.
Reason For Casting: Odette Yustman can be seen on Fox’s
House as well as in J.J. Abram’s
Cloverfield. She is a wonderful actress who would be fantastic as the disgraced succubus Chantinelle.
Reason For Casting: Michelle Ryan first came to my attention in the television series
Bionic Woman, and from there she has appeared in
Merlin,
Doctor Who, and now has a lead role in
Mr. Eleven. I think she would be perfect for the role of Constantine’s old girlfriend, Kit.
Reason For Casting: James Purefoy is one of the more intense actors I’ve seen. His performances in
Solomon Kane and
Rome are terrific. He ranks up there for me with Daniel Day Lewis in the role of the First of the Fallen.
Reason For Casting: Maxim Mehmet is probably a lesser known actor who has recently starred in
The Red Baron and
Faust. He is a great actor who would do great things in the role of one of Constantine’s more persistent foes.
Reason For Casting: Hugo Weaving is a brilliant actor who is recognizable in his roles in
The Lord of the Rings trilogy,
The Matrix, and most recently as the Red Skull in
Captain America: The First Avenger. While I don’t usually like to cross comic book movie actors, I do think this would be okay because I really just want Hugo Weaving’s voice. I would want Mnemoth to be CGI with Hugo Weaving voicing the hunger demon.
Reason For Casting: The Family Man, for those who do not know, is a serial killer who takes souvenirs of his victims, which are entire households. Daniel Craig’s performance in
The Road to Perdition convinced me he would be ideal for this role. Daniel Craig has also been in
Cowboys & Aliens,
Munich, and is the newest incarnation of James Bond in
Casino Royale,
Quantum of Solace, and the upcoming
Skyfall.
Reason For Casting: Joel Edgerton is a great actor who I’ve been seeing a lot of lately. He has been in the riveting film
Warrior,
The Thing, as well as
Smokin’ Aces. I think he would revolutionize the role of Swamp Thing.
Reason For Casting: Jim Caviezel is a pretty great actor who has been in
The Count of Monte Cristo, the television shows
The Prisoner and
Person of Interest. I mean, he was Jesus Christ in
The Passion of the Christ! He would be incredible as the Phantom Stranger.
Well, this is my fan cast! Hope you enjoyed it! Sound off down below!
