A quick and short Summary and Character list for my upcoming DC TV series project.
The Series is about a young couple Mark Cooper and Lindsey Fillon, In the pilot it is revealed that both the Justice League and The Legion of Doom want Lindsey for some unknown reason, the pair are warned by this whilst out on a romantic date one night by a mysterious old woman and are warned that if either the Legion of Doom or even the Justice League capture Lindsey, that great harm will come to her. The series then starts with Mark choosing to go on the run with her to both protect and help her, having to hide in secret from pretty much the whole world whilst at the same time trying to uncover what’s going on travelling from one place to another.
Mark: The protagonist of the series, a young man (early to mid 20s) who’s constantly on the run from both the world’s heroes and its villains to protect the girl he loves.
Lindsey: A young woman (early 20s) who is sought after by every super powered character in the world and must rely on both Marks and her own instincts to stay alive.
Benji: A man of mystery and the source of Mark and Lindsey’s trouble, his appearances in the first season are very brief but vital and become clear out of everyone he knows what’s going on.
During the season which has 13 episodes, each episode after the pilot involves Mark and/or Lindsey coming across at least one person from the dc universe and in most cases must stop or escape from them.
These could include Superman, Batman, Lex Luther, Green Lantern, Joker etc, however which characters actually appear and what order they come in has to make sense, for example having Mark and Lindsey escaping from the Batman in one episode only to then have to deal with Superman in the next is silly and doesn’t make sense.
Even though each episode has its own storyline, there is a bigger plot that also carries on throughout the season and every ending should have some kind of twist or revelation to it much like LOST or 24, thus expanding the story and making it even more intriguing.
Bigger isn’t always better, just because all the dc universe are after them doesn’t mean that every episode will have only the bigger and more known characters hunting them, even though the thought of Superman, followed by Wonder Woman then Flash and then Lex Luther etc every episode sounds cool it wouldn’t be practical for all of them to appear all in one season, also this is a great way to give lesser known but still awesome heroes and villains there time to shine on the screen.
Every episode will carry a different feel to it not all of them are going to be over the top action and suspense episodes, there’s also going to be ones dealing with Marks and Lindsey’s feelings towards each other, how much Mark is willing to go for her and how much Lindsey is willing to let Mark go to keep her safe, there will be ones depending on the specified dc character(s) in the episode that have a more horror, creepy feel to it, there could even be more comedic and light hearted episodes, I don’t want the series to be completely dark.
It should be clear that whatever it is about Lindsey that the Justice League and the Legion of Doom want with her it is incredibly important and throughout the first season we only get little teasers of what those reasons could be.
Another thing is dc characters won’t always be the problem that the couple face, there’ll also be more realistic and drastic obstacles that threaten their safety.
Lastly even with all the action, plot mystery, adventure etc going on at the very heart of the series it’s about a young couple showing how much they are willing to go for one another and continually going up against odds that would normally crush both a relationship and the human spirit.
I just want to end by saying I have some great ideas in mind and the overall arc which can be released bit by bit as I go on through the episodes I hope everyone will really enjoy, but as this is fan-made and not wanting to get ahead of myself I’d love to hear what you guys think of the idea in general, and if you think it could be worth your time to read, I’ve put a lot of thought into it and am more than happily willing to put a lot more for the simple reason of me loving to write but my real enjoyment is giving something that fellow fans like me can enjoy.
