As many of you know by now, the Iron Man Trilogy has won the "Best Comic Book Trilogy of all Time" award. I thought it would be appropriate to do an award ceremony in honor of this achievement.

And finally the top ten reasons the Iron Man Trilogy deserved to win The Greatest Comic Book Trilogy of all Time Award.

Number 10. The special effect were top notch. Some of the best Hollywood has to offer.

Number 9. The set pieces were all beautiful. Love or hate this trilogy every agrees the sets were some of the best.

Number 8. Every villain in the trilogy was fleshed out and fully developed. Their motives were clear, and the reason for doing them well defined.

Number 7. The romance felt real. The way Tony and Pepper slowly fell in love felt very authentic and not at all forced. (*cough Man of Steel-Thor cough*

Number 6. The movie was straight up hilarious. Go ahead and hate the story, the characters, and the great action, but you'd be lying if you said you didn't crack up during all three Iron Man films.

Number 5. The stories were pulled straight from the comics. Marvel did make the movies after all.

Number 4. ACTION. This trilogy had the best action in any superhero/comic book trilogy ever. This reason alone is enough for some people. Not me. Which brings us to...

Number 3. Great dialogue. I've always said I don't care how bad a story in a movie is, how bad the action or humor is, as long as it has great dialogue you can't lose. Great dialogue is key to making an entertaining film. All three films had witty, natural, interesting dialogue.

Number 2. The supporting characters almost stole the show at every turn. Pepper, Rhodey, even Jarvis all make up some really great supporting characters. They aren't just there to fill the gaps. They really feel like a part of the world and a part of who Tony Stark is. Many films feel like they threw in a romance because that's what people expect. The Iron Man trilogy doesn't feel that way at all. It really felt like two people falling in love. James Rhodes really felt like Tony's best friend. All the character felt natural and perfect for the story and situation.

Number 1. Robert Downey Jr. Do I really need to say more?

Ok I will. Robert Downey Jr. is to Iron Man what Christopher Reeve is to Superman. He played the character so perfectly that Marvel has slowly tweaked the character to match the movie counter part. Much in the same way Superman had little to no personality until Reeve showed up and breathed life into the character. You know someone hit it out of the part when the source material even looks to the actors performance when writing the character.

Share what your thoughts are on the Iron Man trilogy below. And for the record I will delete any attempt to turn this into a Batman flame war. Go ahead and beat up on this trilogy all you want, tell us why you loved it all you want. But no flame war. In the spirit of peace I present this picture in hopes that we can all get along.

Roflmfao! I'm clapping right now. I read your other article and laughed at you guys arguing. This.......this I will come back to in a little while to see what happens. You are literally luring them back in. Lol!

I do agree. Out of all the cbms that got to part three, I enjoy the Iron man ones the most. I liked all the other movies too. I'm not a harsh critic. A couple disappointments, Venom and Bane mostly, and I'm a huge fan of the Mandarin from the comics. Yet, I still wasn't let down by Iron man 3.

BRAVO!!!

Where and when was this trilogy declared officially that it's the best comic book trilogy of all time?

Yeah, I like Iron Man 2 and 3 for what they are. But the only excellent film in the series is Iron Man 1. The Dark Knight trilogy had three excellent films, not a weak film in that trilogy. The weakest point was TDKR but even that was excellent IMHO. Spider-Man trilogy had two excellent films, and Spidey 3 is on par with Iron Man 2 & 3. X-Men is the same two excellent films one bad.

I'm also not sure how Blade fits into the mix. I've finally watched the whole trilogy. I mean I like Iron Man 1 better than all three Blades, but Blade 1 & 2 are a thousand times better than Iron Man 2 & 3. So idk, I guess I'd put Blade and Iron Man tied for fourth and fifth best.

Agree to disagree on TDK being the weakest. BB is my favorite of the trilogy, not to mention my favorite CBM of all time. With TDK at second place....I'm not entirely sure where TDKR fits into things. I'd probably try to fit it in the top 10 or 12, it's not that I disliked it or had anything against it. It's more that I just found multiple other CBMs more interesting and enjoyable... TDKR is excellence, but I feel there are a handful that are more excellent. That's IMHO though, I do think Bane was an excellent villain arguably top 10 of all time. I just didn't like Talia...

Also, shouldn't the classic Batman and Superman series' count? The fourth films are just fourth films, the first three should still be counted a trilogy.
