According to his website, ra-pictures.com, in 2009 Kyle Roberts started up Reckless Abandonment Pictures to focus on independent motion picture projects both short and long form. He has now put out an interactive video pitting Shellhead against The Dark Knight. Here is the press release that was sent to me:
Ever wonder who would win in a fight between Iron Man and Batman? Well you get to choose in this interactive clash of the billionaires!

After over 3 months of work, I've officially completed this stop motion! There was over 1,000 pictures taken, and some video as well, both done with the Canon 7D. I used two Hot Toys Figures, the Battle Damaged Iron Man and Dark Knight figure. Within the next couple weeks these figures and this animation will be on display at the Toy and Action Figure Museum. Hope you enjoyed this interactive adventure!

The Toy and Action Figure Museum site has an interesting 360 degree interactive camera option to explore with. There is some great stuff there that anyone would love to add to his own collection.

DogsOfWar-Personally, I've never been a believer in the "Batman always wins" rule but in this case I think he would come out the victor in most cases. Since the question has been posed, I will leave it up to you to decide and discuss. Let me know what you thought of this video as well.

Excuse me?

A battle suit that can withstand hits from an F-22 and fires guided missiles and pulses of energy that can knock a 2 ton iron-monger suit off its feet vs a guy with a batarang and a grappling gun?

No contest.

Batman is low-powered. The only way he ever beats any super is with extensive planning, days, weeks or months of preparation, the element of surprise (vs Stark whose speciality is planning for the future?) and a very generous writer who gives him a sliver of a chance.

Smarts v smarts and resources v resources, Stark and Wayne are pretty evenly matched, but in terms of sheer firepower Iron Man completely owns Bats.

I'm a fan of Bats too, but to even suggest he'd last more than 10 seconds against Iron Man is bordering on the ridiculous.

If you're going to match hero v hero, at least make them comparable in power levels or it becomes a simple popularity contest which can end up with farcical results (see Batman vs Hulk).

@KeithM - I agree with you on the popularity contest aspect but this one strikes me as slightly different. Batman does have some pretty powerful weapons and vehicles at his disposal. You are right about the time aspect. If this is a quick fight, IM takes him down most likely. If Bats has any type of time, he will find a way.

really tho batmans biggest villains don't really have superpowers poison ivy isn't really super-powered all bane has is strength and Mr.freeze just has his gun or whatever just throw Mr.freeze in a volcano and that's that

Ironman would probably win buy Wayne would destroy Stark. But if Captain America can take down Ironman on occasion than Batman can too.

I am a huge Iron Man fan, but the problem is Bruce Wayne knows about Iron Man already and assuredly he has a contingency in place just like he did for the Justice League. Batman wins. Vs. anyone. Except George Clooney.

Movie iron man would kill movie batman.

Iron Man not only has that tank missile, he has that "one off" laser weapon that literally slices through steel.

If Iron Man's armor can withstand a tank shell, it can certainly withstand a human punch.

@ryguy88 thats true, but captain america can also take a hell of a lot more of a beating before he loses than most people. But seriously, ironman 4 out of 5 times would probs win against batman, tony stark isnt as resourceful as batman is, but he does have more firepower and his character is built on the fact that he is a futurist, so if they had equal amount of time to prepare for the fight then tony stark would probably win imo. remember though I am a hardcore ironman fan and I only know the very basics about batman so dont take my opinion to seriously.

It depends on which Batman and which Iron Man.

Movie-verse, Batman would win. He has way better fighting skills and the tech to go head-to-head. RDJ's Iron Man hasn't been an impressive fighter at all. In fact, he never really won a battle based on fighting ability. In Iron Man 2, he technically lost twice to Whiplash because each time he needed help.

Comics-wise, Iron Man would win, but the setting could really affect the outcome in Batman's favor.

Batman would win. I know its ridicoulus to say but COME ON! HE IS THE BATMAN!! Bruce Wayne is superior to Stark. Even though his Batsuit probably isnt as ridicoulus as Iron Mans suit he would kick his ass. Iron Man vs Batman's armored suit in Arkham Asylum would turn out badly for Stark. Iron Man cannot be stupid enough to even try to fight Bats.

@Intruder Why's that ridiculous? And I didn't say he had "way better tech". Don't just say something and not explain because then you're just being biased. In TDK, he had all sorts of new tech specifically developed for a task. Sky hook, the gun-bending grip, and cell-phone omni vision.

You think Batman would just be kicking him? C'mon, at least try to think reasonably about it.

I am so sick of people thinking Batman is so awesome. Batman is a tool. Iron Man would stomp a mud hole in Batman. The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller when Batman beats Superman is beyond crap. Batman is a detective who happens to wear a bat-suit. Iron Man is an inventor who wears a mechanical suit that is powered by an arc reactor more powerful then nuclear power. Batman has a batarang, Iron Man has repulsor rays. Batman can be stabbed, bit by dogs and shot, Iron Man can take on an F16 fighter. Iron Man took out a tank, Batman got his ass handed to him by a guy in a burlap mask. Batman is at the lower end of super heroes. He ranks with the Blue Beetle and AntMan.

It's certainly debatable. Both characters have advantages and disadvantages, and I don't know who would win! I guess it would just depend on who was telling the tale of their battle, because writers who are a fan of a certain character usually find an off the wall reason for their hero to win even with impossible odds.

However, it is pretty biased to say Batman would win because he is batman. It would be more appropriate to say Batman would win because the writer would give him exactly the gadget he needs to win at the last moment.

And I would also like to see a more evenly matched battle!

I swear, I'm really starting to dislike Batman. What does reading Batman do to people that makes them think he can take down any character that has ever been just because "He's Batman"? He is badass but he is not the be all end all baddest alive. Think it through people.
