Justice League Of America is a new monthly comic book from the likes of Geoff Johns and David Fincher. The book will focus on lesser known DC characters like Vibe or Katana. This is my fan-cast for the Movie adaptation of JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA.
Steve Trevor: Bradley Cooper
Bio: Steve Trevor is established in the seventh issue of Justice League to be the head of the newly formed A.R.G.U.S (Advanced Research Group for Uniting Superhumans), a former member of Team 7, and the liaison to the UN for the Justice League. Promoted to the rank of Colonel, his assistant is Etta Candy. He confides to Etta that he has confessed his romantic interest to Wonder Woman, but his feelings were not reciprocated. Steve Trevor is ousted as the liason of the Justice League and the liason between the League and ARGUS. Steve Trevor is in a pub brooding when Green Arrow in his civies comes in. He tells Trevor in ran into an individual calling himself Multiplex. A blinding light knocks Arrow out and when he awakes there is a communicator with a weird insignia on the face. Trevor then has Arrow go on a dsangerous mission for him.
Reason for Casting: Bradley Cooper naturally comes off as a nice guy, have you guys seen Silver Linings Playbook? The dude is a genius. In that film he gets cheated on by his wife, and much like the New 52 Steve, He could play a very down to earth and realistic Steve Trevor.
Oliver Queen/Green Arrow: Stephen Amell
Bio: When millionaire Oliver Queen fell overboard, he was washed up on a deserted island where he was forced to learn how to hunt with a bow and arrow in order to survive. He eventually escaped from the island by overpowering some drug smugglers and handing them over to the authorities. Changed by his experiences, he decided to give something back to society, in as exciting a way as possible - becoming a crime-fighter, using his archery skills for good. Dubbed Green Arrow, he took on a sidekick, Speedy, who was also his ward, Roy Harper. Green Arrow either lost or gave up his vast wealth (accounts vary), and became a hero more permanently, fighting alongside the Justice League of America.
Reason for Casting: I know this is not original at all. But recently i have finally started to watch CW's Arrow. And to my surprise the show is actually really good, I think Stephen plays a very convincing Green Arrow and thats why he is casted.
Carter Hall/The Savage Hawkman: Gerard Butler
Bio: Carter Hall was a priest in a past life, and still possesses the ability to bless mundane objects. For example: By muttering a prayer in front of a building's sprinkler system, he was once able to convert the water into Holy Water in order to destroy a vampire.
Reincarnation: the Nth metal knife which murdered Hawkman in his original incarnation as Khufu had an unusual effect upon his soul and that of his lover Chay-Ara(Hawkgirl). The pair are locked in a seemingly endless cycle of death and rebirth throughout the centuries. While not a superhuman power per se, this propensity for reincarnation has allowed Hawkman to cheat death and return to active duty in his current incarnation.
Reason for Casting: After watching 300 the other day, and then reading JLA yesterday i would love Gerard Butler to play Hawkman, after reading the book, whenever Hawkman spoke i would read it in Gerard's voice. it sounded so perfect.
Katana: Jamie Chung
Bio: After a number of adventures with the Birds of Prey, Katana leaves the group in order to keep an eye on a cult of assassins known as the Daggers. She later accepts membership in Amanda Waller's new Justice League of America in exchange for information on her husband's murderers.
Reason for Casting: Um? It's Jamie Chung... NEXT!
Simon Baz/Green Lantern: Omari Hardwick
Bio: Simon Baz was a Lebanese-American child living in Dearborn, Michigan during the events of the September 11 attacks in 2001. Growing up with their family, Simon and his sister, Sira were both bullied and persecuted due to their ethnicity. As a young adult, Simon began to get involved in street racing, and eventually car theft; the former that put his brother-in-law in a coma in the hospital and the latter because of the financial crisis that hit the Detroit area in one of the hardest hit areas of the United States.
Reason for Casting: Tbh i always have liked Omari, i have always wanted to include him in one of my fan casts and i'm really happy i can include him as Simon Baz. He would totally kick ass in this role, Heck he was in Kick-Ass!!
J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter: Will Smith
Bio: On his home planet of Mars, J'onn J'onzz was a manhunter, the martian equivalent of a police force, though the role meant far more than that. A great planetary hero, he lived to be his race's last survivor, when all others died of a horrific telepathic plague. Brought to Earth by the scientist Dr Erdel, he adopted this planet as his home and did his best to walk among humans as one of them, taking on the personas of various people who had died before their time. Eventually, he went public as a hero and joined the fledgling Justice League of America, where his vast physical and mental abilities, including shape-shifting, flight, telepathy and much more, were much valued. A dependable member of the Justice League for many years, J'onn is one of the most trusted members of the heroic community, particularly in the Pacific countries, to which he tries to dedicate as much time as possible.
Reason for Casting: Will Smith is a tremendous actor, if you don't think so then go watch Ali or Pursuit of Happiness. When he wants to be emotional he can be emotional, when he wants to be funny, he can be funny. when he wants to kick ass... he can kick ass. Will Smith has played a superhero before in 2008's Handcock. So i feel he could definitely portray Martian Manhunter correctly and stay true to the wonderful comic books.
Selina Kyle/Catwoman: Jennifer Morrison
Bio: After a troubled childhood, Selina Kyle took to the streets and to selling her body. She was trained to defend herself by Ted Grant, better known as Wildcat, with whom she has since kept in contact, despite the fact that she is a known felon, committing a number of high-profile thefts in Gotham City and the rest of the world. She is not a killer, although the Gotham police are always wary of her - she is strictly a thief, but a most 'professional' one. A certain amount of sexual tension exists between her and Batman, though she would deny any attraction between them. Recently, Selina has become a sworn enemy of James Gordon, who managed to get her sent to jail for a short while. She was even suspected of shooting him, though she proved innocent of this crime.
Reason for Casting: Jennifer Morrison is one fine actress, having seen her in such TV shows as How I Met your Mother, and Once Upon a Time. I could see her play a down to earth but yet sexy Catwoman.
Paco Ramone/Vibe: Josh Hutcherson
Bio: The leader of Detrot street gang Los Lobos, Paco Ramone had a super-power he kept hidden from his peers - the ability to create sonic shock waves. After an encounter with the Justice League of America, his abilities became more public knowledge, and he began training with the League. His time as a hero was cut tragically short when he was murdered by one of Professor Ivo's androids.
Reason for Casting: Josh Hutcherson has expressed interest in a CBM. he loves comic books and sadly missed out on the role of Peter Parker in last year's The Amazing Spider-Man. But good things come to those who wait, As this new Comic series is only 1 issue old, I feel Vibe will play a huge role in the series and maybe will become the leader in the not so distant future.
Courtney Whitmore/Star-Girl: Ashley Benson
Bio: When her mother and new step-father decided to move to Blue Valley, away from her usual city haunts, Courtney was not best pleased. So, when she discovered that her stepfather Pat Dugan used to be the hero Stripesy, she took up the identity of a new Star-Spangled Kid mainly to annoy him, but has discovered that she finds it pretty good fun. She uses the original's cosmic converter belt in her butt-kicking, which gives her increased strength and an as-yet undefined number of other abilities.
Reason for Casting: Ashley Benson will appear in the upcoming film Spring Breakers, and having seen her in many other shows and movies, I feel she would portray Star-Girl as a young female asset to the team, like Vibe she is young, so expect great things from her in the future.
