Mistress Kizuna casts... Random X-Men and Villains!

With so many X-Men fancasts going around, I decided it was time to step up to the plate and add my own input. Enjoy!

I finally did it!

I decided to cast a (semi) full X-Men reboot. I don't have every single character, but you may find the ones I got acceptable.

Let's get the show on the road!

Professor Charles Xavier: Either Patrick Stewart or as an alternative, Mark Strong.

Scott Summers/Cyclops: Jared Padalecki

Jean Grey/Pheonix: Gemma Arterton. I decided to take a little risk. Casting Jean's a lot harder than it looks.

James Howlett/Logan/Wolverine: Christian Kane. Seems to be quite a favorite for some here, and after seeing him act, I'm pretty convinced he'd rock Wolverine.

Anna Raven/Rogue: Olivia Wilde

Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat: Lucy Hale. She's a young up-and-comer and totally looks like Kitty too.

Piotr Rasputin/Colossus: James Lafferty

Warren Worthington III/Angel: Alex Pettyfer

Hank McCoy/Beast: Jon Hamm

Bobby Drake/Iceman: Chace Crawford

Alison Blair/Dazzler: Ashley Tisdale. Before you start giving me crap for this choice, listen to me on this. Ashley is both a singer and an actress, and can play this kind of part well. And she could use a superhero part to distance herself from the stuck-up "Queen-Bee" image she played before. In a weird way, she kinda grew on me.

Ororo Munroe/Storm: Naomie Harris

Emma Frost: Tricia Helfer. Emma needs an actress that's not too young or old, and can play seductive, harsh, ruthless and oddly likeable at the same time. Just watch Tricia on Battlestar Galactica as Number Six and you'll see my point.

Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler: Cillian Murphy. Before you start going off on him being "too creepy" for this role, I will first direct you to Cillian's other movies, namely The Wind That Shakes the Barley, Intermission, Sunshine, and The Edge of Love, where he was the farthest thing from a villain in those. And besides, I would think Nightcrawler can benefit from a great character actor that can portray dark and charming at the same time. As for the whole "But he already played Scarecrow!" argument, Ryan Reynolds is playing both Deadpool and Green Lantern; what's to stop Cillian from doing the same? And besides, Cillian's not playing anymore villains and I'd love to see him expand his wings in a more heroic role.

Jubilation Lee/Jubilee: Kelly Vitz. Youthful, actually is Asian, and already has some superhero experience (in the movie Sky High). I think she’d be perfect!

Remy LeBeau: Taylor Kitsch. Okay, I'll admit to keeping him around, because I really liked his small but great performance in Wolverine. A little more screentime ought to be just what he needs to really show what he can do with this role.

Elisabeth Braddock/Psylocke: Lena Headey.

Josh Foley/Elixir: Jackson Rathbone. JSYK, I will not tolerate bashing of actors from the Twilight movies. Many of them actually are good actors; it's not their faults they're stuck acting with a mediocre at best script. Anyway, Elixir needs a fairly youthful and "cute" kind of actor, and Jackson can totally do both.

Sean Cassidy/Banshee: Sean Bean. Fan favorite, 'nuff said.

Lorna Dane/Polaris: Katie Cassidy. I'm open to other suggestions though.

Jamie Madrox/Multiple Man: Brian Austin Green

Alex Summers/Havok: Garrett Hedlund

Sam Gunthrie/Cannonball: Travis Van Winkle.

James Proudstar/Warpath: Alex Meraz. Another actor from the Twilight saga? Maybe, but Meraz actually is Native American (as Warpath should be), but also has the build for it too.

Max Eisenhardt/Magneto: Clive Owen

Raven Darkholme/Mystique: Christina Hendricks

Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch: Eva Green

Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver: Paul Wesley

Yuriko Oyama/Lady Deathstrike: Keiko Kitagawa

St. John Allerdyce/Pyro: Ryan Kwanten. He's actually Australian and can definitely play a hotheaded jerk.

Victor Creed/Sabretooth: Liev Schrieber. One of the few things that made Wolverine watchable. I hope they'll bring him back because he was fun to watch.

Mortimer Toynbee/Toad: Patrick Fugit

Nathaniel Essex/Mr. Sinister: James Caviezel. I wanted to try out something left field. So I went to James Caviezel, a great actor who could really do well with a role like this. And he seems the right age for it too.

En Sabah Nur/Apocalypse: Michael Clarke Duncan. I can't think of anyone else with that same kind of intimidating build, and he can act too.

Michael Biehn

Neena Thurman: Katee Sackhoff

Wade Wilson/Deadpool: Ryan Reynolds

Moira MacTaggert: Amanda Peet. I saw this pick on another fan cast here (I forgot whose it was though), and I liked it so much, I had to use it.

Bolivar Trask: Benjamin Bratt

Steven Lang: Matthew Settle

Rev. William Stryker: Eric Roberts

And it's done! Again, I know I didn't get every single character, but I did get as many as I could. Hope you found it satisfactory! ;)

Interesting cast, some of these choises I really dislike like Padalecki as Cyclops but others I love like Fugit as Toad and Murphey as Nightcrawler.

Sorry but didn't really like this FanCast. Maybe next time.

@Ryden, thanks.

@Starsapphire, well, Mark can also play heroic roles too. And Xavier is sometimes morally ambiguous.

@NightAvenger, Thanks for the feedback.

@Anil Rickly, Rosamund Pike doesn't really seem ruthless enough to be Emma in my mind. And Patrick Fugit doesn't have the right look for Bucky at all; his face is too round and he doesn't have that "soldier" vibe to him. And Sebastian Stan's already been cast as Bucky, so yeah...

@airbeyonder, well, what picks didn't you like? Be specific please.

I'm with you a million percent on Cillian Murphy as Nightcrawler. (If nothing else, have you ever seen him drop into a low squat--? He's flexible as anything, and he's got strong quads!) He's slight but lanky, slender and wiry; golden eyes would look great with those cheekbones; and he does shy-but-heroic very well. Sign him up!

Mark Stong: YES there, too. Sure, he's been playing a ton of villains lately, but those brown eyes can be absolutely soulful and mesmerizing. Read-your-mind mesmerizing, yeah....

I like it...and I've always thought Murphy as Kurt would be amazing. There are a few choices I'd change, but over all it's really good.

I like it Mistress@!

Cillian Murphy is my pick, too, for
Kurt Wagner!

I was the one who started the Christian
Kane as Logan thing! I saw him on LEVERAGE on TNT
and he just shouted Wolverine to me! Plus
he's short and one of Wolverine's nicknames
is RUNT!

I never thought of Strong as Prof X but
he definitely could seal the deal!

In my book this is a very fine fancast!

DDD's happy, ya using Christian Kane!!! : P

And i agree very fine cast @ MISTRESS!

A bit short on info or none on a lot of your picks, hey only pick i really really really dislike is JARRED as CYCLOPS, hate that pick so much it hurts! : D

(Its the same level of hatred as Ackles for Cap lol)

The dude cannot act and would ruin SCOTT SUMMERS, PINE all the way! NIGHTAVENGER lol!

PRYO too is wasted, i like the guy who played PRYO in the movies RYAN is a perfect JOHNNY STORM!

DAZZLER = No comment! : p

Never seen ALEX PETTYEER cast as anything till i cast him as a young CAPTAIN BRITAIN, i knew he'd be picked for different casts in future picks, but not this soon lol! : D

Yeah he'd make a cool ANGEL too!

Love your risk on JEAN GREY, nice one!

Kinda knew you'd pick EVA GREEN for SCARLET WITCH lol, yeah she own it!!!

TRAVIS great CANNONBALL!!

Really glad you kept the GAMBIT pick, don't know why ppl want HARRY OSBORN for GAMBIT really don't?

SABRETOOTH owned!

CABLE HELL YEAH!

The rest great stuff!!!

OWEN as MAGNETO = PERFECT! Glad ppl like that one, though he's the younger MAGS, though in the comics he got younger so why not!

APPOCALYPSE isn't a big black man lol, but he'd be okay, most people want MCD so i ain't gonna argue anymore! : D

The rest i really like so its bout 3 outta the whole cast not keen, pretty good going!

Great pick for STRONG (got him as DOOM but PROF X great pick too!)

Hah, I see that three of my choices in my "Sailor Moon" fancast have appeared.

@Leee, actually, I had the Alex Pettyfer/Angel idea for a while now. And Ryan Kwanten could be a good Johnny Storm too. Thanks for the feedback.

@RoadDog, heh, yeah, James, Ashley and Kelly, I presume? Well, I saw a rumor that Ashley was in consideration for Dazzler, and I thought "hey, she just might be good for it." As for James and Kelly, well, they just popped up.

I know it's a year later, but I'm actually gonna do a full blow-by-blow review of your cast.

- Mark Strong I've heard about getting fancasted as Professor X. He does look like him, and at 6'2", of decent stature. And he can be sympathetic to a point.
- Jared as Cyclops, not too bad. He can play the unsure leader, and after watching an episode of Supernatural where Sam is stuck in a time loop, then loses Dean, it's very much like Cyclops after he loses Jean Grey.
- I hear Gemma also appearing in fancasts as Jean. I'm not sure, I think Claire Danes would be a somewhat better choice. Her panicky perfomance in Terminator: Rise of the Machines is reminiscent to how Jean would handle the Phoenix Force burning inside of her.
- DDD is understandable jazzed about Kane as Wolverine.
- Man, Olivia Wilde as Rogue. I'm not 100% sure if I can see it, but I can somehow envision her sporting a Southern accent. She might need to gain a few pounds, however. Nevertheless, a VERY inspired choice, I may have to borrow it!
- Lucy Hale is more sarcastic and edgy than Kitty Pryde is supposed to be. I think Lyndsy Fonseca or Vanessa Hudgens (check out that new Candies video she did to see what I mean) are better choices.
- Funny you chose Lafferty of Colossus. I had him for Cyclops in my Children of the Atom fancast (my version of X-Men: First Class). He may need to beef up a bit, but I think he'd be perfect once he learns to speak Russian.
- You know, I also cast Alex as Warren in my COAM fancast. Great minds think alike!
- I'm more of a "Keifer Sutherland for Beast" guy, but Jon Hamm seems to be the undisputed pick.
- Chace is my pick for Speedball, while Shia LaBeouf is my choice for Iceman (note, he's Jewish like the character). But good call, nonetheless.
- Wow, where was I when Tisdale was called upon to play Dazzler in an X-Men film? Personally, Aly Michalka has the look down and is a somewhat better singer.
- Great choice for Storm.
- Now that's an awesome choice for Emma Frost! She has a stronger vocal presence out of the choices I've read (Ali Larter, Sara Foster), and at 5'10", you nailed the height down perfectly! Shame that she's also a strong pick for Mystique after seeing her kick ass in that Black Keys music video.
- You don't have to defend yourself choosing Cillian Murphy as Nightcrawler. Especially since DDD, master fancaster extraordinaire, also picked him as well. If he learns German, then yes, he'd work.
- Hmm, I could go with Kelly as Jubilee.
- Seeing as your cast more or less exists outside of the Singerverse, I don't know about Taylor Kitsch going for another round (he'd be older than he was in Borigins). In a new movie universe, I say Justin Hartley, seeing as he plays a roguish, charming rebel on Smallville. And he has prior weapon training.
- Great pick for Betsy Braddock before she wound up in the body of a female ninja.
- I don't know much about Elixir, but Jackson seems like a good choice.
- Can't argue with a fan favorite for Banshee. Though isn't Banshee supposed to be young?
- How about Nicky Whelan for Polaris, seeing as you're looking at alternate choices.
- BAG!
- I dunno, Garrett would make a far better Nova. His work in Tron: Legacy would fit the tone for any film centered around the character.
- You got my choice for Human Torch! But visually, he looks the part.
- Isn't the character about 7' tall? DDD and I are height sticklers, and we prefer someone a little taller than Alex Meraz. He might work as Neil Shaara.
- Clive Owen: the perfect First Class-era Magneto.
- Christina Hendricks doesn't have the right body for Mystique (I saw a shot of her in a two-piece bikini; gunt shot on the starboard front!). Plus, like I said, Tricia Helfer is a better choice.
- Your picks for the Maximoff twins are probably the best I've seen. Especially Paul Wesley, who is visually on target. Can't believe not many people were tickled by it than I am. Maybe I'll borrow it.
- I see you even lifted a star of Sailor Moon to play Deathstrike. Not bad, she could definitely work.
- Ryan Kwanten is Australian, and the right height for Pyro, but he's too famous for a lesser-known character of that magnitude.
- I'm with you that Liev Schreiber killed as Sabretooth. But in a new movie universe, I think Alexander Skarsgard or Joe Mangianello may be the choices to look at.
- I never imagined the kid from Almost Famous made a good choice for Toad, but I think you've hit the mark. And visually, he looks perfect.
- Jim Caviezel is too nice to play Mister Sinister. I'm in favor of Jeremy Irons, seeing as his voice would match the character.
- Michael Clarke Duncan works good as Apocalypse.
- Eh, Michael Biehn is a tad too scrawny to play Cable, who stands at a massive 6'8". I know where it came from, Deadpool referencing Terminator in the comics. But I'm going with Dolph Lundgren or Adam Baldwin.
- Katee looks like a good choice for Domino.
- I too hope Ryan Reynolds plays Deadpool again.
- Great choices for the human antagonists (interesting you chose the Humphrey father for Stephen Lang).

Great cast. You should try this again, and add characters like Bishop and the like.
