2013:
4: THOR: THE DARK WORLD- I am really anticipating this movie, but from what I have seen and heard, I'm not as excited for this as I am the others. Maybe when a trailer is released, it will go higher on my list, but right now, I care about these other films more.
3: IRON MAN 3- This is number three because I am really hoping that this movie wraps up the trilogy that they have built up, and I want to see how the world of the MCU is in the aftermath of The Avengers. I'm hoping the Mandarin will be the coolest MCU villain we've seen yet.
2: THE WOLVERINE- I know many people are wondering why this beats Iron Man 3, but we haven't seen Wolverine in a really good film since X2, and we haven't seen a good solo Wolverine film yet. As a matter of fact, we haven't seen a solo Wolverine film yet, what with all the cameos in Origins. I really want this to start the solo Wolverine series. I'm glad it's still in-continuity, but I want it to break away from the X-series.
1: MAN OF STEEL- Now, this is at the top of my list because Superman is my favorite character, and he hasn't been in a good movie since 1980, and I hope this reboot takes him in a new direction. Plus, the rumor that this may actually start off the official DC cinematic universe makes this even cooler.
2014:
5: NINJA TURTLES- I don't care about this film that much, but because TMNT was a comic book first, I'm gonna include it. I want to see a Turtles reboot, but the fact that they might be aliens and Megan Fox is in it just makes me go, "don't care."
4: CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER- I know that we haven't heard much, but from what I've heard, I just am not that excited for it. I know a lot of people like the fact that he's leading a team, but I would rather just see him go solo as an agent of SHIELD. Still, I do want to see this and it looks like it has the potential to be really cool.
3: GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY- Even though we've heard less about this than Winter Soldier, I am more excited for this because it is not a sequel and instead introducing new characters to the MCU. I also want to see Thanos pop up somewhere.
2: THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2- From what we have heard and seen, I think this is gonna be great. I want this to not only set up future sequels, but to establish this series as part of the MCU. The suit is the is the coolest suit we've seen in the series yet, and I'm glad that they are using new villains like Electro and Rhino and not doing villains we've seen before. Save Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus for 4&5.
1: X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST- This is my most anticipated CBM of 2014 because it looks like the X-franchise is back on track, and I can't wait to see the actors from the original trilogy back with the cast from First Class. I want to see how Singer corrects continuity mistakes and sets up future installments. What I don't want to see is them just erase X3 and Origins from existence. Sure, they weren't very good, but they happened. If you want to pretend like they didn't exist, go for a reboot. Other than that, I think this is gonna be awesome. I also hope that they put Deadpool and Gambit in the film and do those characters justice. Plus, if Deadpool is well liked in this movie, maybe we could finally see a Deadpool solo film.
2015:
3: THE FANTASTIC FOUR- Let me start by saying that I am VERY excited for this film. I can't wait to see a really good reboot of the Fantastic Four. I'm hoping we finally see the real FF, and I also want to see how they cross this over with the X-Men. Even though I wish this was part of the MCU, I will remain optimistic about this until I see the films.
2: THE AVENGERS 2- I know a lot of you are thinking "what?! How could this not be at the top of the list?!" I CANNOT wait until this is released. I really want to see Thanos as the villain, and I hope to see a referance to Spider-Man somewhere. This movie is gonna be great, and I can't wait.
1: ANT-MAN- No, I'm not joking. I am glad Edgar Wright is directing, he's done great work. Another thing that makes me excited for this movie is the fact that he said it won't have a comedic tone, like 2005's Fantastic Four. Even though Avengers 2 will be awesome, I really want to see this due to the fact that it is a relatively unknown character and a smaller scale film, not like a summer blockbuster. It's getting away from the normal type of superhero films, and is doing something differant. I hope this is a cool spy film, and I think it's gonna be awesome.
