Director: Directors are responsible for overseeing creative aspects of a film under the overall control of the film producer. They often develop the vision for a film and carry out the vision, deciding how the film should look, in other words they make their vision come to life. They are responsible for turning the script into a sequence of shots. They also direct what tone it should have and what an audience should gain from the cinematic experience. Film directors are responsible for deciding camera angles, lens effects and lighting with the help of the cinematographer and set design with the production designer. They will often take part in hiring the cast and key crew members. They coordinate the actors' moves, or blocking and also may be involved in the writing, financing and editing of a film.

Irvin Kershner (Notable Works: Eyes of Laura Mars, The Empire Strikes Back, Never Say Never Again): He's got the sharp eye that results in great filmmaking. Irvin is an amazing director. He's a legendary director who made what many consider the Best Star Wars Film of all time. As talented as he is, he'd be a perfect director for Green Lantern.

Screenwriters: Screenwriters are responsible for researching the story, developing the narrative, writing the screenplay, and delivering it, in the required format, to Development Executives. Screenwriters therefore have great influence over the creative direction and emotional impact of the screenplay and, arguably, of the finished film. They either pitch original ideas to Producers in the hope that they will be optioned or sold, or screenwriters are commissioned by a producer to create a screenplay from a concept, true story, existing screen work or literary work, such as a novel, poem, play, comic book or short story.

Lawrence Kasadan (Notable Works: Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Empire Strikes Back, Silverado): Lawrence is responsible for the Empire Strikes Back Script that became the iconic movie, His reworking of Liegh Brackett's draft fixed the few errors and added Iconic scenes to the movie. Not to mention penning the classic Raider of the Lost Ark, there is really no Reason why he couldn't do an amazing Green Lantern Movie.

Composer: A film score (also sometimes called background music or incidental music) is original music written specifically to accompany a film. The score forms part of the film's soundtrack, which also usually includes dialogue and sound effects, and comprises a number of orchestral, instrumental or choral pieces called cues which are timed to begin and end at specific points during the film in order to enhance the dramatic narrative and the emotional impact of the scene in question. Scores are written by one or more composers, under the guidance of the film's director and/or producer, and are then usually performed by an ensemble of musicians – most often comprising an orchestra or band, instrumental soloists, and choir or vocalists – and recorded by a sound engineer.

John Williams (Notable Works: Star Wars, Superman, Raiders of the Lost Ark): Williams is a legend with music, he never gives a bad score and always improves over time. He's composed at least three of the most memorable film scores of all time. If you can get John Williams to score your movie then you do it!

Guardian "Puppets" Designed and Creation: In all honesty in an 80's Green Lantern Film, The Guardians would likely be Puppets it would be the best practical way to do it.

Stuart Freeborn (Notable Works: Star Wars {Franchise}), Jim Hensen (Notable Works: The Muppets {Franchise}), and Frank Oz (Notable Works: The Muppets {Franchise} Star Wars {Franchise}): The Reason why I chose this crew was because they all worked on the Yoda Puppet for Empire Strikes Back. With the amazing work they did on Yoda, there is no reason why they shouldn't Be the crew for the Guardians.

Guardians of the Universe (Height: 3' 5" {Average} Age: Unknown): The Guardians of the Universe evolved on the planet Maltus, and were possibly the first intelligent life forms in the Universe. At this time they were tall greyish blue humanoids with black hair. They became scientists and thinkers, experimenting on the worlds around them. The Maltusians relocated to the planet Oa (at "the center of the Universe") and became the Guardians. Their goal was simple: combat evil and create an orderly universe. And they acted quickly on that goal. During this period they also changed to their current appearance.

Frank Oz (Notable Works: The Muppets {Franchise}, Out to Lunch, Star Wars {Franchise}) Frank Welker (Notable Works: Scooby-Doo, Superfriends, Transformers), and Peter Cullen (Notable Works: Transformers {Franchise}|G.I. Joe, Voltron): They're the most talented voice actors of all time, being able to truly manipulate and switch their voices around. Really embody their characters with the bare essentials they have to do it.

Abin Sur (Height: 6' 1", Age: Unknown {Presumed 40's}): Abin Sur was the Green Lantern of Sector 2814, one of the greatest members of the Green Lantern Corps until his untimely tragic death. His starship crash-landed on the planet Earth, killing him and causing his ring to seek out a replacement.

Clive Revill (Height: 5' 7", Age: 57 {As of 1987} Notable Works: A Fine Madness, Rum Runners, The Empire Strikes Back): Clive is a legend, he's acted for years and began doing smaller parts around the 80's. For a Part Like Abin Sur you want a guy Like Clive who's going to give the role exactly what it needs to work right.

Hal Jordan (Height: 6', Age: 30's): Hal Jordan is the most well-known Green Lantern. He was the first earthman ever inducted into the Green Lantern Corps, and has been heralded as possibly the greatest Green Lantern of all time.

Michael Biehn (Height: 6', Age: 31 {As of 1987} Notable Works: The Fan, The Terminator, Aliens): I'd be lying if i said that The Terminator didn't convince me. His performance in Terminator is a mature Hal Jordan, taking liberties with his orders but doing whatever it takes to get the Job done. Biehn is an actor with a Cult Following. Honestly I see him as the most Talented man for the job.

Carol Ferris (Height: 5' 7", Age: 30's): Carol Ferris is the romantic interest of Hal Jordan. Businesswoman and pilot, she is the owner of Ferris Aircraft, taking after her father Carl Ferris.

Melody Anderson (Height: 5' 7", Age: 32 {As of 1987} Notable Works: Flash Gordon, Dead & Buried, High School U.S.A.): Honestly she did such a fantastic job in Flash that I hear her voice when i read Carol in the Silver Age books. Melody truly is a perfect fit for the role of Lady Ferris.

Tomar-Re (Height: 6' 2", Age: 30's): Tomar-Re was a scientist on the planet Xudar before joining the Green Lantern Corps. He became a pivotal member of the Corps, training new members and serving in the Honor Guard. He investigated reports of abuses of power by Sinestro on Korugar.

Mark Hamill (Height: 5' 9", Age: 36 {As of 1987} Notable Works: Star Wars Trilogy): Hamill is an actor I'm a fan off, with Tomar-Re i think practical effects are the way to go, and using Hamill is getting a trained and well talented actor to seperate himself from Star Wars and embody a new franchise. It would be no question that he could play the character.

Kilowog (Height: 7' 8", Age: 40's-50's): Kilowog is a high-ranking officer and drill instructor of the Green Lantern Corps, responsible for teaching and mentoring newly recruited Lanterns. The last surviving member of his planet Bolovax Vik, his entire family is deceased. Most distinctively, he refers to all of his trainees as "Poozers."

Richard Kiel (Height: 7' 2", Age: 48 {As of 1987} Notable Works: Moonraker, The Wild Wild West, Pale Rider): A wonderful actor, best known as Jaws in the 007 Franchise. He's a tall man just 6 inches shorter than the character, now Honestly i think we can do Kilowog with some natural effects. I think the wright amount of make-up and maybe puppeteering mixed with a muscle suit would really enable Kiel to embody Kilowog and becoming iconic as Kilowog.

Sinestro (Height: 6' 7", Age: 40's-50's): Sinestro was a former member of the Green Lantern Corps who was banished into the anti-matter universe of Qward. He acquired a power ring that emits yellow energy to counter the Green Lantern's green energy.

Frank Langella (Height: 6' 4", Age: 49 {As of 1987} Notable Works: The Mark of Zorror, Dracula, Sphinx): Seriously this choice was a no-brainer, his brilliant performances as Dracula and Skeletor are a slight indication, but when you see his Shakespearian work in Masters of the Universe, it just shows you he knows how to make a movie memorable.

Green Lantern, Batman, and Superman will Return in 80'S JUSTICE LEAGUE!

1987 seems to be a great year for the DC heroes in the big screen. Superman, Batman and now Green Lantern fighting their archenemies Lex Luthor, Joker and now, Sinestro, respectively.

An 80's movie JLA, huh? AWESOME! Marvel Cinematic Universe eat your heart out.

Wow, this has got to be one of the best ideas for a "way back when" Green Lantern film. I really like that you used Frank Langella as Sinestro--I saw his turn as Dracula this year, and MAN he was chilling!

When you have a minute, check out my latest fancast: "G.I. Joe: Special Missions"--The Series.

Now THAT is perfect casting! I've always thought Michael Biehn would have made a great Hal Jordan in an '80s Green Lantern movie. He just screams Hal Jordan to me every time I see him on Terminator.

It started as one period piece Superman fancast disowning the horrid abomination known as Superman IV: Quest of Peace. Now, a full-fledged DC Cinematic Universe with an 80's JLA as the cherry on top. Even better, no Batman & Robin in the horizon, well a manly man like Kurt Russell as Batman doesn't need a teeny-weeny Robin. And Irvin Kershner doesn't have a George Lucas to hog all his deserved spotlight since The Empire Strikes Back. Sit on a corner Ryan Reynolds, Michael Biehn can mop the floor with you.

This is really great, man!
It is so well done. The cast is perfect, the reasoning for why you casted each actor is perfect, and your attention to detail is perfect! Great work!

I was referring to RobertGarlen's Batman film series fancasts. Batman fights the Joker in it's third installment The Legend of Batman in 1987. In 1989, Batman fights Two-Face and Catwoman in The Trial of Batman.

Biehn as Hal Jordan is [frick]ing brilliant. That would be casting perfection at the level of Christopher Reeve as Superman. Just a perfect casting choice.

Wow, this is an absolutely perfect period-piece casting!
Wonderfully written!

This would have made an absolute classic movie that
would have gone down with the likes of BLADE RUNNER
and ALIENS and the first STAR WARS!

I'm totally blown away, ROBERT!
