Spider-Man 4- What Might Have Been

Spider-man 4 was orignally scheduled to be released earlier this year before Sam Raimi and co dropped out, but was this the right choice?

For many spider-man 3 was a terrible film. It didn't live up to its predecessors and failed to live up to the hype. But when spider-man 4 was announced many thought that Sam Raimi could redeem himself. The buzz then kicked in, everyone was anticipating who the villian would be. Many thought the villian was going to be either the lizard or carnage, both would be very easy to introduce as they both have pre established back stories.

However, everyone was baffled when Sony announced that the villian would be the vulture, am I the only one who can't name any good vulture stories. Then Sony decided to piss us off more by anouncing the black cat as well, except the black cat would of been the vultures daughter and called herself the vulturess.

The plot as far as I know is as follows:
Peter Parker gets over MJ (WTF?) and finds a new girl, whose father is the vulture, Peter, torn between his new girlfriend and taking down the vulture, he decididly kills him. However his new girlfriend surprisingly doesn't like this and rejects him. Peter then decides to abandon his powers and the movie ends. Presumably for number 5 to pick up where it left off.

So in short: Yes it was a good choice, a VERY good choice.

This might have been short. But god I am glad they never made it. Peter would probably have been a even bigger crybaby in it. But The Vulture would have been cool as long as they wouldn't make him like in the Spider Man 1 Movie Game. I wish it could have been The Lizard....or maybe even Shocker....he might have been fun. But that is just me.

Wasn't Anne Hathaway rumored to play the Black Cat...?

I really dont believe that was Raimi's aim (rumors)... If that was the case then the film would of been made, right? The reboot was Sony's tool to earn money for another 10 years... so dont be surprised if Andrew Garfield's film gets rebooted by its fourth installment

Even so, Im really desolated by the fact that we wont know how the story could of continued... really

Just like how Marvel is doing a TV show on the Hulk (unrelated to Avengers), Raimi should have a TV series of all the old cast members continuing with the OG Spider-Man stories

I remember watching part Spider-Man in the 4th grade.... Guess you can say that a lot of us grew up with Toby as Pete

Besides some plot details that needed to be changed it could have been good. They had casted John Malkovich to be The Vulture which was pretty cool. I just didn't like the idea of vulture girl or whatever they were gonna do.
