Chapter One.
Today.
*This is how it ends.*
--Blood pours from his face and body. His once unbreakable bones have become little more than dust. The fight had lasted for days, but now in this moment, everything was peaceful. Peaceful and broken.
---14 April 1912.
--A ship glides across the waters of the Atlantic. Passengers from every demographic enjoy the night sky, which happens to be unusually clear tonight. A young husband holds his new wife in his arms. Just then, a streak shoots across the sky, then another and another!
--A meteor shower dazzles the passengers of this mighty sea-faring vessel. But none of them realize what they are beholding. A small space pod, hidden amongst the meteors shoots across the sky. Shards of crystal fall off, and land in the water.
--Upon contact, the crystals sprout up and become giant shards and huge iceberg-like masses! The boat is doomed.
--Survivors wouldn't reach land for another three days, but the tiny space pod would crash to Earth in a matter of moments.
--A young scientist and businessman named Alexander Luthor heads to a Metropolis to investigate the crash site early the next morning. He is a handsome man with tan skin and fiery red hair and green eyes. He walks to the site of the crash. The tiny space pod rests at the bottom of the crater with green rocks surrounding it. His hands begin to shake. He coughs into his hand, and there is blood. He collapses.
---1915.
--Alexander is bald now, and his skin is pale. His once green eyes are faded to gray, and have sunken into his head with dark circles. He sits in a tall chair facing a large window in a penthouse in Metropolis.
--A young man walks into the room.
--"Mr. Luthor, this just came for you." The young man hands Alexander an envelope from his coat pocket. Alexander opens it, and reads the letter before turning to the young man.
--"Be sure that the crew is ready to dig by Monday."
--"Yes sir." The young man leaves. Alexander stares at the skyline of Metropolis.
--Jonathan and Martha Kent drive a shiny black 1914 Cadillac. She wears a dress with flowers on it, and he wears a dark brown suit.
--"We're going to have a baby, Jonathan."
--"I know, Martha. I know."
--The car pulls into the parking lot of a small building. "Luthor-Queen Orphanage," reads the sign above the door. The couple walk in.
*I was sick and small when they found me.*
--Jonathan and Martha are guided by a plump woman around the orphanage. They stop at every room except number AC01.
--"What's in there?" Martha asks politely.
--"A very sick little boy. Come on, let me show you the play area." Jonathan and Martha share a look.
--"Let us meet him." Jonathan extorts.
--The boy is small and pale when the Kents first meet him. His eyes are sunken in and he is very skinny. He wheezes hard and struggles to breathe. Martha's eyes well up with tears.
--"We want him." She says with a shaky, tearful voice.
--"Ma'am, this child is--"
--"She's made up her mind, and there's no changing it. Where do we sign?" Jonathan interrupts.
*They took me home, and for the first time in my life, I felt the warmth of love and the glow of the yellow sun.*
--Martha walks out of the orphanage with her husband, holding the boy in her arms. The boy's skin begins to glow with a golden light as the sun hits it for the first time. His blue eyes brighten. His strength is growing.
