It just couldn’t be real. It just couldn’t have happened. It did. The Justice League mourned, Central City mourned and the whole world grieved the loss of The Flash. It was just that, he was shot and killed. Live, on national television, for the whole world to see. There was no way it could’ve been stopped…but Kal-El...Superman…The Last Kryptonian…he knew. He knew what had to be done. The image of Flash’s death was on repeat in his head.

The mindless crazed hollow forest of the dead, shined brightly in Luthor’s eyes as he lined up the shot. Two “Men-In-Black” held The Flash’s arms behind his back and pushed him down to the ground. He was helpless, he couldn’t move…he couldn’t think and couldn’t believe what was happening. Two tears shed down Wally’s face as he knew his seconds were numbered. Any moment now, any second now, the trigger would be pulled and Wally would be able to tell Mr. and Mrs. Wayne about Batman’s accomplishments. Luthor sent out a dark chuckle, it was more eerie than anything The Joker had busted out from that crazed smile of his. Mothers had covered their children’s eyes, but they knew they could never see their favorite speed demon again. Luthor readied his finger onto the trigger of the shotgun and asked with a smirk…”Any last words to President Luthor?” The Flash looked up, all he could think about was the Justice League and how they would handle the loss. He knew they would snap, and that he, The Flash, had let them down. He coughed a drop or two of blood, and from his last breath of air, he smiled up at the President, closed his eyes and with a weak, sick voice, managed to say the words “Meet you in Hell. It’ll be very, very soon.” Luthor then quickly pulled back the trigger, and the sound of thunder shot through that gun. A speeding bullet, one that Superman couldn’t even stop, raced through the paces of the air, and jumped inside of The Flash’s skull.

Superman jumped out from his bed and let out a scream that could be heard throughout the Watchtower. He cried. The man of steel was no longer invulnerable. After another thought, he realized The Flash’s death had hurt him in a way that no one else’s had. Not even that of Dan Turpin’s death that occurred several years earlier at the hands of Darkseid. Wonder Woman opened the door to Superman’s room and walked inside. The look of horror was on her face, as all she saw was burned bedroom sheets, broken glass from a lamp and destroyed drawers everywhere. Superman was kneeling on the ground, crying his eyes out. She sat down beside him, and rubbed his back for comfort. He looked up at her, sharing the same feeling.

“Clark.” whispered Diana.

“It was my fault, it was all of our faults, we could’ve stopped Lex…he knows this was his ultimate victory over me. He’s not playing games anymore, Diana!” screamed Clark Kent.

Wonder Woman felt Clark’s pain. She knew what he felt. Superman had lost his mind at the moment. He couldn’t think of anything else but The Flash. He couldn’t think of anyone else but The Flash.

“Wally died a hero. He tried his hardest defending us. He’s saved the world more than once, that’s a great accomplishment for one man. Come on, Clark…” Diana tried everything she could to console Superman, but it didn’t work.

Superman stood up. He walked over to the giant window of the watchtower room, gleaning over planet Earth. His eyes glowed red with rage.

He thought for a minute or two. He got an idea and turned back at Diana, and smiled. Diana saw the look on his face, something she’d never seen before, something…evil.

“Lex Luthor will die tomorrow. He will pay for what he’s done to Wally, and I, will get closure” Clark said with a dark, mad tone.

Would Superman actually kill Lex Luthor?
