Scooby-Doo is an American animated cartoon franchise, comprising several animated television series produced from 1969 to the present day. The original series, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, was created for Hanna-Barbera Productions by writers Joe Ruby and Ken Spears in 1969. This Saturday morning cartoon series featured four teenagers—Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley, and Norville "Shaggy" Rogers— and their talking brown Great Dane dog named Scooby-Doo, who solve mysteries involving supposedly supernatural creatures through a series of antics and missteps.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, here is my take on the Scooby-Doo gang, I have not casted any villains.
Directors:
Chris Miller and Phil Lord
Known For:
21 Jump Street (2012), Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs (2010)
Chris Miller and Phil Lord are talented directors, not only did they handle to direct a new animated film, but they also made 21 Jump Street relevant again. Showing off there action experties in Jump Street, I figured the two would be able to give us a reliable take on Scooby-Doo.
Cast:
Andrew Garfield as Shaggy
Known For:
The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), The Social Network (2010), Boy A (2007)
Star of last years superhero blockbuster,
The Amazing Spider-Man, Mr Andrew Garfield or The Cat for short, I have always wanted to use The Cat in one of my casts, and I'm really glad I can do so for Scooby-Doo. Andrew has turned into a multi actor, what I mean by this is that he can play serious (
The Social Network) and he can play charming and witty (
The Amazing Spider-Man).
Armie Hammer as Fred
Known For:
The Social Network (2010), Mirror, Mirror (2012), The Lone Ranger (2013)
Staring in this summers anticipated film,
The Lone Ranger is Mr Hammer. You tell me that name is not awesome, anyway apart from having good chemistry with The Cat as the two acting together in The Social Network I feel Armie would Hammer ;) the role of Fred Jones. Okay enough... Stop it's hammer time.
Leighton Meester as Daphne
Known For:
Gossip Girl (2007-2012), Date Night (2010), That's My Boy (2012)
My personal pick for
The Amazing Spider-Man 2's Mary Jane Watson, was Leighton Meester, and when she was not cast I was pretty upset. But now like The Cat, I can use her in one of my casts, and thus we have Daphne. I don't know why, but for some reason I see her as Daphne, she has the look and attitude to play the role and you would totally buy her falling for Armie Hammer.
Aubrey Plaza as Velma
Known For:
Scott Pilgrim Vs The World (2010), Safety Not Guaranteed (2012), Funny People (2009)
I love Aubrey Plaza, I find her to be one of the most underrated actresses in Hollywood today, from her humorous roles all the way to her touching roles, I would love her to play Velma. Aubrey looks like a hot nerd, I mean she is awkward and shy (go watch her Ellen Video) but when she is funny, she can be hilarious (Jay Leno show). So yeah she's my pick for Velma, I also think she would have great chemistry with Andrew Garfield.
Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo (Voice)
Known For:
Transformers (1984), Scooby-Doo (2002-Present)
I understand this is no where near original, but I mean don't fix what ain't broken. Frank nails the voice of Scooby, and I for one would never change. He fits the role so perfectly.
So that's my cast guys, I hope you guys enjoyed it. Comment below and let me know how you felt about the cast. Thanks!
