There’s a war in Gotham. It’s being fought every day. The two sides…Oswald Cobblepot and Roman Sionis, also known as The Penguin and Black Mask. Despite their differences, both Penguin and Black Mask want the Batman DEAD! Each hires someone to take him out. The Penguin hiring Victor Fires and Black Mask gets Floyd Lawton. Victor Fries being a failed theft that used his “chilling” technology to get money for a personal project. Floyd Lawton being a mercenary for hire. Can Batman fight off Mr. Freeze and Deadshot while also attempting to put the gang war to a halt?
BATMAN/BRUCE WAYNE - BEN AFFLECK
(Argo, The Town)
BATMAN: Bruce Wayne witnessed the murder of his billionaire parents as a child, swearing to avenge them. He trained extensively to achieve mental and physical perfection, mastering martial arts, detective skills, and criminal psychology. Costumed as a bat to prey on criminals' fear, and utilizing a high-tech arsenal, the legendary Batman was born.
BEN AFFLECK: Ben Affleck is, in my opinion, a great actor. Almost a year go it was announced that he would be the next Batman, following Christian Bale's great performance. This Batman is hardened, brutal, and becoming less and less of a fighter for justice and more and more of nothing but a fighter. This due to what had happened tragically that night 6 months before.

ALFRED PENNYWORTH - JEREMY IRONS
(BvS: Dawn of Justice, The Borgias)
ALFRED: Alfred Pennyworth is Bruce Wayne's loyal father figure and butler. Alfred raised Bruce (and later Dick Grayson) after the death of the Waynes. A former British secret agent, Alfred is a skilled surgeon who often fixes members of the Bat-Family.
JEREMY IRONS: Jeremy Irons is an amazing actor and our new Alfred!!! I want him to bring something to the table we've never seen before. Michael Caine was a great refresher in the TDK trilogy and now I want another refreshment, and Jeremy Irons could be that.
ALSO CONSIDERED:
none
COMMISSIONER JAMES GORDON - TOM HANKS
(Saving Private Ryan, Forrest Gump)
COMMISSIONER GORDON: James Gordon was one of Batman's first supporters, helping him fight against crime and corruption. Rising to the rank of Commissioner in the Gotham City Police Department, he remains one of Batman's greatest allies. Commissioner Gordon does not trust Batman anymore. Not only did on his watch one of his partners died, but the other was shot and crippled, this partner being his daughter. He has stated Batman as an outlaw and Bats has been on the run since. Inside he still knows he's a good man, but after the Arkham incident the people of Gotham have completely turned against him and he decided to side with them in anger.
TOM HANKS: Tom Hanks is a world class actor and one of the best of all time. He is amazing and something about him SCREAMS Commissioner Gordon to me. I think he would do amazing in the role and it would be a dream of mine to se him as this character on film.
ALSO CONSIDERED:
Ted Levine
CATWOMAN/SELINA KYLE - KATE BECKINSALE
(Underworld, Van Helsing)
CATWOMAN: Catwoman, the costumed alias persona of Selina Kyle, is a mostly reformed cat burglar with an on-again, off-again, romantic relationship with Batman. She is shown as a woman who is very strong-willed, independent and morally conflicted with her past.
KATE BECKINSALE: Kate Beckinsale would be an amazing Catwoman. I wanted to cast an actress closer to the age of our Batman, and she is just a year younger. She has shown how badass she can be and I think she'd make a lovely Catwoman!!!
ALSO CONSIDERED:
Gemma Arterton
Emily Blunt
RENEE MONTOYA - ZOE SALDANA
(Star Trek Series, Guardians of the Galaxy)
RENEE MONTOYA: Renee Montoya was a Gotham City native who joined Gotham City Police Department. She was promoted to detective by Commissioner Gordon and partnered with Harvey Bullock. The character was originally created for Batman: the Animated Series. However, before debuting on the television series, her character was introduced in an issue of the Batman ongoing series in 1992 and had a recurring role as one of the faces of the Gotham City Police Department.
ZOE SALDANA: Zoe Saldana is a great actress. Saldana can kick-ass and that's something she'd need to be able to do in the role of Renee Montoya. I'd love to see her as this strong character, and I believe she could do the role justice.
ALSO CONSIDERED:
none
HARVEY BULLOCK - JON BERNTHAL
(The Walking Dead, The Wolf of Wall Street)
HARVEY BULLOCK: Harvey Bullock was once a corrupt GCPD cop, until he turned over a new leaf and made a conscious effort to be an honest lawman. He is now one of Jim Gordon's most trusted officers.
JON BERNTHAL: Jon Bernthal's performance in The Wolf of Wall Street convinced me to cast him in this role. Despite him being on the wrong side of the law in this, I think it'd be awesome to see him play Sgt. Bullock. He has the acting ability and presence and just fits the role perfectly in my eyes.
ALSO CONSIDERED:
Michael Chiklis
EDWARD NIGMA - SCOOT MCNAIRY
(Non-Stop, Argo)
EDWARD NIGMA: Edward Nigma is a detective with the GCPD, the replacement of Crispus Allen after his death during the Arkham Incident. Nigma has always loved puzzles and riddles and this has attributed to his great detective skills. He isn't fond of the Batman, and feels that he should turn himself in to the law. He's a smart asshole. Put the high school nerd and the high school bully together and you get him.
SCOOT MCNAIRY: I think this type of role is right up McNairy's alley. He's played roles like this before, and I'd love to see him do it again. IMO he was the best part of Argo (other than the directing and script) and I'd love to see him work with Affleck again.
ALSO CONSIDERED:
none
VICKI VALE - JESSICA CHASTAIN
(Zero Dark Thirty, The Help)
VICKI VALE: Vicki was a reporter for the Gotham Gazette, whose job it was to report on the Batman. She was frequently romantically attracted to Batman and Bruce Wayne as well.
JESSICA CHASTAIN: Chastain is a wonderful actress. I'd love to see her as Vicki Vale and she is not too much younger than Ben Affleck.
ALSO CONSIDERED:
Bryce Dallas Howard
LUCIUS FOX - FOREST WHITAKER
(The Butler, The Last King of Scotland)
LUCIUS FOX: Lucius Fox is the current CEO and President of Wayne Enterprises and a sought after businessman all over the corporate world. He is a great financial officer and a good friend/ally to Bruce Wayne.
FOREST WHITAKER: Forest Whitaker is an amazing actor who I think could give us not only a great, but a fresh performance as Lucius Fox. I'd love to see him in this role and I think he could wonderfully follow up Morgan Freeman's performance.
ALSO CONSIDERED:
Jamie Foxx
Omar Epps
BLACK MASK/ROMAN SIONIS - GIANCARLO ESPOSITO
(Breaking Bad, Revolution)
BLACK MASK: Roman Sionis, AKA the Black Mask, is a ruthless Gotham City-based mob boss and leader of the False Face Society. At various times he has been the supreme leader of the Gotham criminal Underworld. Possessing an extreme hatred for Bruce Wayne, and a sadistic talent for torturing his victims, makes the Black Mask one of Batman's most dangerous adversaries. His parents dying in a fire when he was young, after moving form foster home to foster home he turned to a life of crime. He rose up the ranks of the Falcone's before starting his own gang in the False Face Society. People suspect he's slightly insane, but no one has the courage to tell him.
GIANCARLO ESPOSITO: Giancarlo Esposito would be AWESOME as Black Mask. He's an amazing actor and played a similar character in Breaking Bad. You may be thinking "Why would a black guy have the name Roman Sionis?" To that I say Giancarlo is half Italian and half African-American, that explains his name and that could apply to the character as well.

THE PENGUIN/OSWALD COBBLEPOT - JAMES SPADER
(The Blacklist, Avengers: Age of Ultron)
THE PENGUIN: Intelligent, rich and sophisticated; Oswald Cobblepot puts up a gentlemanly front, but behind closed doors he is the angered, power hungry criminal known as The Penguin. He shows flashes of compassion sometimes, but that's his way of getting close to you before taking you out. He is dominated by a desire to be respected and to control those around him.
JAMES SPADER: James Spader is a VERY talented actor. His performance in the Blacklist convinced me he could be extremely intimidating and evil and I'd love to see him bring that intensity to the role. I think he'd be perfect for Penguin and would do the role justice!!!
ALSO CONSIDERED:
none
MR. FREEZE/VICTOR FRIES - MATTHEW FOX
(Lost, Alex Cross)
MR. FREEZE: After his wife became terminally ill, Dr. Victor Fries devoted his life to saving her and used cryogenics to freeze her to get time to find a cure. After being attacked by his boss Ferris Boyle and exposed to some of his chemicals, Fries could only survive in sub-zero temperatures and built a special suit to keep himself alive, becoming Mr Freeze.
MATTHEW FOX: Matthew Fox is a great actor. His performance in Alex Cross stole the show and he did an excellent job playing this creepy serial killer. That is not at all what or who Victor Fries is, but i think if he brought that intensity to this he would KILL it.
ALSO CONSIDERED:
none
DEADSHOT/FLOYD LAWTON - JOEL KINNAMAN
(RoboCop, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo)
DEADSHOT: Deadshot is one of the world's finest assassins, well-known for his expert shot and near perfect track record.
JOEL KINNAMAN: Joel Kinnaman is a good actor. With his deep voice and a look like the one above, he could look and sound very intimidating. He not only looks like how I'd picture Lawton under the mask, but could bring the intensity to the role that's needed. When there were action scenes, Kinnaman was a badass in RoboCop. I'd love to see him do more action. I think he could pull it off easily and is a great choice for the role.
ALSO CONSIDERED:
Jason Statham
Jeremy Renner
ANARKY/LONNIE MACHIN - KODI SMIT-MCPHEE
(Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Paranorman)
ANARKY: The first person to don the identity of "Anarky," Lonnie Machin, is The Joker's biological son. He possesses a genius-level intellect, and is particularly skilled at computer hacking. Anarky is also an adept martial artist, brilliant inventor, gifted strategist, and tireless crusader against authoritarianism.
KODI SMIT-MCPHEE: Kodi is a great young actor. I think he could play a very convincing Anarky. He's very talented and I think could bring everything needed to the role.
ALSO CONSIDERED:
Leo Howard
EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS - MICHAEL USLAN, CHARLES ROVEN, GREG BERLANTI
EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: An executive producer (EP) enables the making of a commercial entertainment product. He or she may be concerned with management accounting and/or with associated legal issues (like copyrights or royalties). An EP generally contributes to the film's budget and may or may not work on set.
MICHAEL USLAN: Michael Uslan is a HUGE Batman fan that has been a part of basically all Batman projects on TV and film since the release of Tim Burton's first film with the Caped Crusader.
CHARLES ROVEN: Charles Roven has been behind all of the (good) DC films since Batman Begins. Not only that, but he also has produced other great films and has been awarded two Producers Guild of America awards, an Oscar, and more. He's invested in the DCCU (producing MOS and BvS: DoJ) and I'm sure he'd be happy to continue in it.
GREG BERLANTI: Greg Berlanti is the creator of the CW/DC show Arrow. He had done an amazing job with the series and I think adding him to the production team on a Batman film would be a great addition.
PRODUCERS - BRUCE TIMM, GEOFF JOHNS, BRUCE BERMAN
PRODUCER: Film producers prepare and then supervise the making of a film before presenting the product to a financing entity or a film distributor. They might be employed by a production company or be independent, yet either way they help the creative people as well as the accounting personnel.
BRUCE TIMM: Bruce Timm is an amazing guy who should be a producer on the next Batman film. He did wonders for the DCAU and I'd love for him to have his hand in this universe as well.
GEOFF JOHNS: Geoff Johns is a head honcho over at DC comics and has done works for the company. He's created some of the best stories and should definitely be involved in the production of the DCCU films.
BRUCE BERMAN: Berman has been a producer on many great films (The Matrix, Great Gatsby, Sherlock Holmes) and would definitely not be a disadvantage to this one. He even has experience with Batman, producing The Lego Movie.
COSTUME DESIGNER - MICHAEL WILKINSON
COSTUME DESIGNER: A costume designer is a person who designs costumes for a film or stage production. The role of the costume designer is to create the characters and balance the scenes with texture and color, etc. The costume designer works alongside the director, scenic, lighting designer, sound designer, and other creative personnel. The costume designer may also collaborate with hair stylist, wig master, or makeup artist.
MICHAEL WILKINSON: Michael Wilkinson is one of the best costume designers out there. I chose him for his work on Tron
: Legacy, but when I saw the rest of his resume on IMDB he happened to already be working on BvS: DoJ and worked on MoS
. He's showed that he can create a range of costumes and does great when tasked with doing it.
COMPOSER: A film score (also sometimes called film music, background music, or incidental music) is original music written specifically to accompany a film. The score forms part of the film's soundtrack, which also usually includes dialogue and sound effects, and comprises a number of orchestral, instrumental or choral pieces called cues which are timed to begin and end at specific points during the film.
STEVEN PRICE: Steven Price is an amazing composer. Gravity was a great film (IMO) and the score was one of the best parts. I believe it to be on par with the effects. It added to the overall experience of the movie SOOO much more than most movies I see and I'd love to see him do a movie like this.
PRODUCTION DESIGNER - JAMES CHINLUND
PRODUCTION DESIGNER: In film and television, a production designer or P.D is the person responsible for the overall look of a filmed event such as films, TV programs, video games, music videos or adverts. Production designers have one of the key creative roles in the creation of motion pictures and television. Working directly with the director and producer, they must select the settings and style to visually tell the story.
JAMES CHINLUND: James Chinlund is the amazing production designer behind Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Avengers. DotPotA had AMAZING production design. The look of San Fransisco and the the ape's Red Woods home were amazing. San Fransisco looked like it would look in real life if a deadly virus wiped out the majority of the population and they lost power. The apes' home was so amazing in the little space it took up. With that as well as the great work he did on Avengers, I'd love to see his take on Gotham.
SCREENWRITERS - RICK JAFFA, AMANDA SILVER, CHRIS TERRIO
SCREENWRITER: A screenplay writer, screenwriter for short, or scriptwriter or scenarist is a writer who practices the craft of screenwriting, writing screenplays on which mass media such as films, television programs, comics or video games are based.
RICK JAFFA and AMANDA SILVER: These two are behind some of my favorite films of the 2010s. Both Rise and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes have had great reviews, great following, great directors, and most importantly a great script. Their work on the Apes on Horses franchise have convinced me that they would be perfect candidates to write a Batman film.
CHRIS TERRIO: Chris Terrio revised David Goyers script for BvS: DoJ and has won an Oscar for his screenwriting. I think him combined with Jaffa and Silver could make the ultimate Batman film.
CINEMATOGRAPHER - RODRIGO PRIETO
CINEMATOGRAPHER: A cinematographer or director of photography (sometimes shortened to DP or DOP) is the chief over the camera and lighting crews working on a film, television production or other live action piece and is responsible for achieving artistic and technical decisions related to the image. The study and practice of this field is referred to as cinematography.
RODRIGO PRIETO: Prieto is an amazing Cinematographer. The cinematography seen in Argo and the Wolf of Wall Street are both remarkable. Wit ha great director behind him he could do wonders for a movie. I'd love to see him do a Batman film.
DIRECTOR: A film director is a person who directs the making of a film. Generally, a film director controls a film's artistic and dramatic aspects, and visualizes the script while guiding the technical crew and actors in the fulfillment of that vision. The director has a key role in choosing the cast members, production design, and the creative aspects of filmmaking.
BEN AFFLECK: I think it'd be a mistake not to have Ben Affleck direct a Batman solo film. I personally believe that this was a part of the deal when they signed him on. Not only is he a huge Batman fan, but he also has not yet directed a bad film and has directed and acted in two of his 3 films. I think Affleck is THE PERFECT (and most logical) choice for directing a Batman movie.
NOTES:
-
This movie takes place 6 months after Batman: Arkham in the winter.
-
6 months prior, Jason Todd was killed and Barbara Gordon was rendered wheelchair bound for the rest of her life.
-
Dick Grayson is in Bludhaven and on bad terms with Batman.
-
The Penguin does not have a huge collection of birds, but a few would be nice.
-
Black Mask's "employees" where mask when on jobs.
-
Batman is very brutal and hardened.
-
Alfred does not like the turn Bruce is taking.
-
Catwoman has her own personal vendetta against Black Mask.
-
Mr. Freeze would only accept Penguin's offer to kill Batman because Penguin promises to fund the research he is doing to save his wife.
-
Deadshot simply wants his money and sees Batman as a fun challenge.
-
Anarky appears in a sequence where Batman saves 4 hostages from Anarky and brutally beats him and his thugs, scaring the hostages.
-
The movie ends with Penguin and some of his thugs bursting in to Victor Fries' laboratory (before he went to Blackgate), and find his formula for cryogenically freezing a human being. He holds it in his hands as his thugs destroy the lab and he whispers to himself "The court will be proud". We then zoom in on his ring. It has an intricate design. Soon everything, but the design on the ring goes black and the designs manipulates into the head of an owl. We then fade to black and "TO BE CONTINUED" appears on the screen.
