Where & how the CW should've gone: GOTHAM!

As Smallville & Arrow are to their respective icons and, hopefully, as Amazon will be to its icon, the one thing missing is perhaps the most intriguing one, GOTHAM! Here, I outline how easy it would be to layout, season by season. Meant for fun consideration but hoping the DC lurkers who troll these sites see it & have an epiphany!

GOTHAM
The Life & Times of Bruce Wayne

Season 1
Ep. 1-3: We get introduced to the key players, dive into the intricacies of the Wayne family, and culminate with the shooting of Bruce's parents.

Ep. 4-6: We go through the funeral, get inroduced to a rookie cop named Gordon assigned to the case, and explore the trauma & memories of an 8 year Bruce.

Ep. 7-10: We explore the relationship of Bruce & Alfred, see Bruce begin diving into completing his education through private tutors quickly with an eye on criminology & related fields & revenge, and witness the beginning of his physical training.

Ep. 11-16: We watch Bruce complete high school & college with four degrees, master four martial arts, and bid Alfred farewell on his 18th birthday to travel, learn, and grow.

Ep. 17-24: We witness the beginnings of many illustrious villains in their pre-villain days(The 1940s crew-Catwoman, Joker, Riddler, Mad Hatter, Prof Strange, Penguin, Scarecrow, Doctor Death, Cavalier, Crime Doctor, Two Face, Clayface, The Monk, & Prof Radium), venture into the seedy world of Gotham crime facing off with a fast rising Sgt. Gordon, and follow Bruce through training with many mentors.

Ep. 25: We find Gotham a cesspool of crime & corruption with the Falcone Family, Moroni Family, Rupert Thorne, & the Chemical Syndicate unstoppable, Lt. Gordon earning a reputation & a mark on his head, and see Bruce standing at the gates of Wayne manor on his 23rd birthday.

Season 2
Ep. 1-6: We watch Bruce assimilate back into his life & assuming the mantle of owner & head of Wayne Enterprises, observe Bruce begin his vigilante career at night when the criminals are out and about, and find Bruce seeking a disguise to bring fear to the criminals when he falls into a series of caves & a great cavern beneath Wayne Manor.

Ep. 7-15: We find Bruce starring at the swarm of bats he disturbed while marveling at the great cavern, witness the first of many early Batman costumes, and follow Batman taking down his first criminal, Alfred Stryker, and on his first story as he takes down the Chemical Syndicate.

Ep. 16-20: We find Bruce reconnecting with old friends Harvey Dent and Lt. Gordon and begin dating Selina Kyle, witness the opening of Arkham Assylum under the directorate of Hugo Strange & his assitants, Jonathan Crane & Harleen Quinzel, and find Batman taking on Falcone, Moroni, & Thorne nightly.

Ep. 21-25: We discover new criminal elements rising up with the three major crime lords occupied with Batman & Gordon as Dent becomes DA, get a glimpse of a true cat burglar who eludes Batman, and get introduced to Oswald Cobblepot, owner of the Iceberg Lounge, who gladly informs Batman on activities of the other crime lords after Batman saves him while running his own devious crime ring that Batman is unable to track to its boss.

Season 3
Ep. 1-8: Joker's Wild Storyline: Intros with origin The Joker and ends with Joker being sentenced to Arkham for evaluation and includes more escapes by Catwoman from Batman and activities by Penguin's gang Batman dubs the Bird Bunch.

Ep. 9-12: One Shall Stand: The fall of Falcone and Moroni at the hands of Batman & Gordon thanks to the mechanations of Thorne & Penguin as Dent becomes a feared DA and Gordon makes Captain.

Ep. 13-16: Cat Scratch Fever: The bat and the cat come face to face and Batman is finally able to bring her in revealing her to be Selena Kyle while continuing his war on the criminals of Gotham.

Ep. 17-18: Heart of Clay: Batman swoops in to help Gordon on the set of a movie remake that is seeing its cast killed for real instead of acting while still reeling from the truth of Selina.

Ep. 19-20: Of Thornes & Roses: Gordon brings down Thorne but the judge dismisses the case on technicalities which enrages Dent while Gordon's daughter makes her debut about to start junior high.

Ep. 21-23: A Penguin Cannot Fly: Penguin is double crossed by Thorne allowing Batman to bring him down and committed to Arkham for evaluation as Gordon is made Commissioner and he and Dent finally declare Batman a public hero.

Ep. 24-25: The Doctor is IN: Doctor Death unleashes havoc on Gotham and Batman walks a thin line to bring him down as Bruce begins allocating Waynetech under Luscious Fox to develop Bat-gear and Gotham prepares to welcome The Greatest Show on Earth featuring the legendary Flying Graysons in a few months.

Season 4
Ep. 1-6: Rise of Supervillains: Batman encounters and brings in The Cavalier, Prof. Radium, and The Monk only to see them all confined to Arkham for observation making Batman overly concerned.

Ep. 7-12: Heads or Tails: Thorne goes about bringing down Dent resulting in the acid disfigurement that creates Two Face leading Batman to go hard after Thorne but winds up having to take down Two Face who is committed to Arkham while reconstructive surgery is explored.

Ep. 13-16: Doctor of Crime: Batman begins a running battle with Thorne and in the process brings down the elusive Crime Doctor who is revealed to be Thorne's brother but who refuses to betray his brother.

Ep. 17-20: A Riddle in Time: The Riddler attempts to gain revenge while matching wits with Batman only to be outsmarted and left a babbling mess trying to figure out how Batman did which gets him put in Arkham, which raises red flags with Batman but Gordon assures him it is quite secure.

Ep. 21-24: A Mad Mad Mad World: Mad Hatter begins pulling ingenius crimes as Batman is occupied with Thorne but the hat and hat finally cross with Batman winning but witnessing another super criminal committed to Arkham for observation.

Ep. 25: The Greatest Tragedy on Earth: The Flying Graysons fall to their death in front of thousands of Gothamites and a young Dick Grayson, Gordon discovers it was no accident, and Bruce offers a home to Dick.

Season 5
Ep. 1-5: Justice and Vengeance: While Batman & Bruce are doing their own thing, Dick is left alone at Wayne Manor with Alfred to work through the pain and finally Bruce must confront his own past to help Dick deal with his anger, grief, and confussion.

Ep. 6-10: Secrets Revealed: Within Arkham Strange is driving the villains deeper into their dillusions trying to explore their minds as Crane is performing experiments in terror unsupervised and Quinzel and Joker develop a strange relationship while Dick discovers the Batcave and Bruce must make a difficult decision.

Ep. 11-15: A Thorne in the Side: Batman and Gordon finally bring down Thorne as the children of Falcone and Moroni take their fathers' place and revive the crime empires.

Ep. 16-20: Training of a Hero: Bruce trains and teaches Dick while providing the best tutors and instructors after Dick agrees to Bruce's terms and Dick enrolls in high school.

Ep. 21-24: Falcone & Moroni bring in Deadshot to take out Batman while Batman must also deal with the arsonistic Firefly trying to blackmail Gotham.

Ep. 25: Dick debuts as Robin on his first night out with Batman as the take down some small time crooks while Dick meets Barbara Gordon in Chemistry class and a mutual crush forms.

Season 6
Ep.1 -4: A Menace to Gotham: The Monarch of Menace hits Gotham hard and plunders banks, jewelers, the wealthy, and more, always one step ahead of Batman and just when it seems like Batman has him all he has is note thanking Batman for letting him leave with a veritable fortune.

Ep. 5-8: Under a Spell: Spellbinder targets the wealthy to gain access to their fortunes and secrets and nearly gets Bruce but Robin foils him and Batman brings him down only to see him whisked to Arkham.

Ep. 9-12: Horrorscopes: Zodiac Master sets his sights on Gotham and does remarkably well until Batman and Robin foil his plan and take him down but he is taken to Arkham as well while Batman is determined to uncover Arkham's true purpose.

Ep. 13-16: Terror Targets Gotham: Thanatos sees Gotham as a prime example of all she fights against and unleashes her Death's Head organization on the city pushing Gordon, Batman, & Robin to their limits before defeating her.

Ep. 17-20: Fear Fear: Scarecrow unleashes a plague of fear on Gotham that nearly takes down Batman and Robin but they are able to fight through and take down Scarecrow, revealing him as Crane, Strange's assistant, and a judge orders him to Arkham, prompting Bruce to plan an undercover operation into the Assylum, as Selena Kyle is paroled.

Ep. 21-24: Into the Insanity: Bruce goes undercover as new security at Arkham and slowly uncovers Strange's madness, Crane's experiments, and the new level of mental depravity the inmates have been pushed to but Strange nearly uncovers Bruce's secret while Quinzel adopts her Harley Quinn persona and liberates Joker in a night escape.

Ep. 25: Cry Havoc: As Batman presents the evidence he found at Arkham to Gordon and the new DA, Harley and Joker return to Arkham, beats Strange down, and releases the psychotic super villains on an unsuspecting Gotham.

Season 7
Ep. 1-8: The Fall of Gotham: As the villains amass their own gangs, Falcone and Moroni decide to flee Gotham while Batman, Robin, and Gordon are hard pressed to reapprehend the villains and Gotham falls as a Joker, Harley, Riddler, & Penguin seize City Hall and others seize strategic locations in the city.

Ep. 9-16: Nightfall: With the criminals falling in league under The Fearsome Four, Gotham suffers greatly as outside help is kept at bay and Batman and Robin recover from their wounds and Barbara Gordon decides there is something she can do.

Ep. 17-24: The Dark Knight Lives: Deciding a direct assault on City Hall the best course, Batman and Robin load up and head off but are joined by Batgirl just in time while Gordon leads his force on the other villains en masse and an unexpected new ally, Catwoman, tips the scales to victory.

Ep. 25: Batman: With the villains and criminals taken down, Gotham must now recover as Dick and Barbara discuss their mutual attraction as their Senior year begins, Batman and Catwoman entertain possibilities, and Gordon finally recieves the budget he has been demanding thanks to large donations from Gotham's elite, led by Bruce Wayne. Batman, Robin, & Batgirl meet atop a large building where Batgirl reveals their identities and they reveal hers, all agreeing Gotham is safer with all three of them working with Gordon.

So, there you go. Seven seasons of Gotham. Hope you enjoy it.
