X-MEN ONLY NEED A PARTIAL REBOOT!

The X-men for X-MEN 4 or "X4" don't need to be completely rebooted!
PROF-X is great with Patrick playing him. You can Never count
Xavier out.

CYCLOPS is just fine with James portraying him. Its simple to bring
him back. The comics do it all the time.

JEAN is presumed dead. STORM can just be gone visiting a friend in
a certain African Nation.

Thus they need only to replace BEAST (With someone a little younger
for a new trilogy, 4,5 & 6.), and ROGUE, ANGEL, ICEMAN and KITTY
(With people a little older.).

WOLVERINE needs someone younger and way shorter but muscular to play
him. Wolverine is listed at 5'3" in his Marvel bio.

And they need to bring GAMBIT & CANNONBALL into the mix.

And finally...bring a new main villain in for crying out loud!!!

My X-MEN 4 Fancast:

X-MEN:

PROFESSOR CHARLES XAVIER - PATRICK STEWART

CYCLOPS (SCOTT SUMMERS) - JAMES MARSTERS

WHITE QUEEN (EMMA FROST) - JOLENE BLALOCK

WOLVERINE (LOGAN) - CHRISTIAN KANE

ROGUE (ANNA MARIE) - ELIZA DUSHKU

GAMBIT (REMY LeBEAU - JAMES FRANCO

SHADOWCAT (KITTY PRYDE) - SCOUT TAYLOR-COMPTON

ICEMAN (BOBBY DRAKE) - SEANN WILLIAM SCOTT

ARCHANGEL (WARREN WORTHINGTON III) - TEDDY SEARS

BEAST (HANK McCOY) - DOUGRAY SCOTT/PARTIAL CGI

NIGHTCRAWLER (KURT WAGNER) - CILLIAN MURPHY

CANNONBALL (SAM GUTHRIE) - MIKE VOGEL

COLOSSUS (PIOTR RASPUTIN) - DANIEL CUDMORE

MAIN VILLAIN:

MISTER SINISTER - JASON ISAACS

DDD @ For someone that said he wasn't doing anymore, your not doing a bad job lol! ; D

Great casting dude, though the WHITE QUEEN looks like that SPOCK chic in STAR TREK lol.

HELL YES to ANGEL dude!! An CLOPS, X, MR SIN, etc etc, not sold on DUSHKA as ROGUE but thumbs up from me man an P.S, you forgot CABLE!! : p

Hell CABLE'S gotta be in it to right all the wrongs in X3 lol! : D
DDD
DDD - 1/3/2010, 3:10 AM
I'm savin' Cable for no.5 Leee@! Also I want to bring
BISHOP into no. 5 but I probably won't have time to do it
for a long long time.

I had time to do one more fancast before the weekend is
over and I gotta go back to work on monday! I didn't
think I had time during the vacation to do anymore
but my vacation plans changed and I had some spare time
on my hands. I've been making hay while the sun shines
so-to-speak. After this I will only be working on the
big fancast and probably no more for a long while.

I'm bummed out about it but oh, well, at least my
business is growing! And I will still be able to come
here and look at all you guys and your fancasts and
comment on them every once in awhile.

Don't like Cyclops, Shadowcat, Ice-Man, or Nightcrawler, but the rest are very solid.

Your best is Franco as Gambit.

But I don't know your White Queen pick.

I understand wanting a shorter actor to play Wolverine, but why a younger actor?
DDD
DDD - 1/3/2010, 3:30 AM
Kenny@ Wolverine is a mutant and his aging process is slowed down because of his healing factor. It seems to
me like Logan would not look very old is all. Maybe in his mid to late 30's.

Jackman is getting old and he has always been a giant by comparison!

DDD @ Cool buddy! Well hope you had a great vacation man!

And hey, CABLE is a time traveler, how else can he gonna come back an save CYCLOPS in X3 lol? ; D

Kudos dude!

TYLER @ CYCLOPS is a solid pick an the guy hit SCOTT SOMMERS on the head dead on!

Gotta admit @ DDD, your WOLVIE pick is big time growing on me, ive used that actor in my KINGDOM COME casting but back then it didn't come into my head for him as LOGAN, and it screams it, great stuff!!
DDD
DDD - 1/3/2010, 3:36 AM
Tyler@ my White Queen was the Vulcan on Star Trek
Enterprize. She was the only good thing on there.

And you don't like the Cyclops from the original
movies? Interesting 'cause I thought he did a fine
job. It was the script that had him as an a-hole
that portrayed him wrong.

I myself really hated Cummings Nightcrawler. It was
a silly portrayal. Nightcrawler is not a religious
freak or timid! I thought the potrayal was hammy!
But it was Singer's way!
InTylerWeTrust
InTylerWeTrust - 1/3/2010, 3:39 AM
Marsden was annoying, douchey, whiney, weak, boring, and I could go on. He was an awful Cyclops. No to him returning and making Scott a second-rate character on the team again.
DDD
DDD - 1/3/2010, 3:58 AM
I see where you're coming from Tyler@!
DDD
DDD - 1/3/2010, 4:27 AM
The reason I chose Cillian for Nightcrawler
is beacause Nightcrawler is a little bit creepy
and very wild and kick ass. He's very agressive
when he's fighting and confident in his abilities
from relying on himself most of his life! I thought
of Cillian while watching Sunshine on DVD awhile
back. He just struck me as Nightcrawler.

Nightcrawler's strong of character and doesn't take
to heart people thinking him a freak!
Totally unlike the timid Nightcrawler in X-men 2.
DDD
DDD - 1/3/2010, 8:54 AM
Tyler@ that is the way Singer and his scriptwriter
wrote Cyclops. That is how James was supposed to act
like. It wasn't Marsters fault.
InTylerWeTrust
InTylerWeTrust - 1/3/2010, 11:22 AM
I do acknowledge that Singer wrote Cyclops kind of that way, but Marsden's extremely weak performance still had a big hand in making Cyclops suck.

Hey guys whats a reboot anyway? please tell me!!!!!!!!!!
Ryden
Ryden - 1/3/2010, 1:12 PM
@DDD- I like the cast, but I think if you’re going to start re-casting people then you need to do a whole reboot…partial reboot wouldn’t really work…I like the Wolverine choice although I prefer Stephen Moyer myself and Beast. It’s ironic how you chose the guy who could have been Wolverine for Beast

@ledger20- A reboot is when an old franchise is re-made or re-invisioned and has no tie ins with the previous series. They start a fresh. Like Batman Begins or The Incredible Hulk.

TYLER @ CYCLOPS was [frick]ing perfect nearly, the guy was SCOTT SOMMERS, sh1t you want [frick]ing SUPERNATURAL boy playing CLOPS wtf is that lol, now that would be sh1t from carboard boy JARRED himself! : D

Lee: It's Summers, not Sommers.

Could you give me a reason as to why Whiney Marsden was perfect, or are you just going to keep saying he was perfect without explanation?

I think Padalecki would be a great Cyke, you don't like Supernatural anyway so I don't really care. There are other people I would want as Cyclops besides Padalecki too, such as Scott Porter, Chris Pine, Garret Hedlund, etc.

And it's Jared, not Jarred. If he's so cardboard, why do you always say he's the perfect Nova?
InTylerWeTrust
InTylerWeTrust - 1/3/2010, 3:18 PM
MTL: Like I said, I acknowledge that the script wrote Cyclops like that, but Marsden still have a very weak performance. It didn't impress me at all to want to give him another chance with a juicier role.

To be honest, I've never been all that impressed by Marsden's acting chops. He's just so uninteresting IMO.
Ryden
Ryden - 1/3/2010, 3:22 PM
@MTL- They can play other characters, especially when they'd do a great job.
TheMyth
TheMyth - 1/3/2010, 4:21 PM
Vanessa Ferlito for Rogue!

MTL, I don't see how Cillian playing a character from the DC universe should hinder him playing a role in the Marvel Universe.
Ryden
Ryden - 1/3/2010, 4:53 PM
@TheMyth- Exactly, if Murphey is good for either role (with I think he is) I don't see any problem in casting him.

It's good to see you around man ;)

@Tyler- I prefer him as Toad
InTylerWeTrust
InTylerWeTrust - 1/3/2010, 5:27 PM
I prefer Andy Serkis as Toad (well, an older one, can't think of a choice I like for a younger Toad) :)
DDD
DDD - 1/3/2010, 6:33 PM
Hey, Great to see you TheMyth@.
MYTH@ & RYDEN@ that's what i thought.
Its OK for Cillian to play both parts.
I like him for NITGHTCRAWLER for reasons
I already stated.

Monaghan seems too weasely to play
Nightcrawler. Both Monaghan and Serkis
would be good for Toad, though I think
Serkis would do a better job.

Ryden@ I know its probably best to totally
reboot the X-men but I really like Patrick
Stewart as Xavier. Stephen Moyer is too
skinny and narrow-built to play Wolvie, IMO.

Shelee@ Jared Padalecki is just a little too
young-looking to play Cyclops but he does
have a better leadership presence than Marsden.
But he is 6'4" tall and Scott Summers is listed
on his Marvel bio as 6'3" so he has the
physical attributes of Cyclops. I like Jared
as an actor so I would have no problem with him
playing Cyclops.

Naomi Watts is too flat-chested to play
Emme Frost. Odette Yustman has too much of
a nicey-nicey persona to play Cajun thief
Rogue I believe. That's why I chose Eliza
'cause she has a more dangerous bad-girl
persona. Plus I just like looking at her!
:D

DDD
DDD - 1/3/2010, 6:48 PM
Ryden@ It wasn't only Ironic that I chose Dougray for Beast.
I did it on purpose 'cause he looks beast-like and
he deserves to be in the X-men somewhere! But I think
he's way too tall to play Wolvie, just like Jackman.

Wolverine is a wide-bodied 5'3" dynamite in a small
package! That is his persona and that's how he
should be portrayed. Christian Kane is a wide body in
a small package. His personality is just like Logan's
on TNT's LEVERAGE! Heck he was like that too on the
last segments of Angel where he turned into a good
guy warrior from the evil Lawyer for Wolfram & Hart.
AGame67
AGame67 - 1/3/2010, 7:07 PM
Sweet cast dude. Its really good. I like all of them except for Wolverine and even him I can deal with.
Ryden
Ryden - 1/3/2010, 8:45 PM
@DDD- Well consdiering that he is an actor I'm sure he'd bulk up for the role, and although he isn't as short as Christian Kane the last time I checked he was around 5,6 or 5,7 I mean you see him standing next to Anna Paquin and he's only slightly taller.

Plus I don't really like picking actors because "they've doen that before" I think that's just type-casting, I'd rather see an actor diversify.
DDD
DDD - 1/3/2010, 10:01 PM
Ryden@ Moyer is 5'10" tall which is a bit too tall for
Wolverine in my opinion and he's slight-built.
Even if he bulks up he'll never be Logan size.

I'm a bodybuilder and have trained with one of
the Mr. Americas. He said you can't make a thin-build look
thick, heck he said I could never be a
bodybuilder competitor 'cause my muscles are too
long in the biceps to ever get that cut look.
At least he was honest with me and kept me from
wasting any more of my time trying for competition.

Christian Kane is an actor too and has done all kinds
of different parts. But the main reason I chose him
was not for typecasting but because I know he can
play Logan 'cause he's a good enough actor and also
he's physically built like Logan. Moyer is also 40 years
old and I think he's a little too old to do a new X-men
trilogy.

Why is it everyone thinks that casting someone who
looks and can act a certain superhero is wrong to
play that character? I think they need to typecast
a little bit because comic book characters have such
specific physical and personality characteristics.

DogsOfWar
DogsOfWar - 1/3/2010, 10:35 PM
Agree DDD.

Kane can do a reboot as Wolverine for sure. I thought he was good in Angel as well.

Actors certainly need to have a close look when playing supes although there are the few that just pull off the embodiment of a character so well, you don't notice differences-see Keaton as Batman

As far as height, it really doesn't matter in Hollywood, they can adjust height for everyone in movies very easily. Like you said though, DDD build is much harder to pull off.
DDD
DDD - 1/3/2010, 11:14 PM
Dogs@ I don't know about everyone else but it was
totally evident to me that the actor was too tall for
Logan the first time I saw X-men. The whole dynamic of
Wolverine is his dynamite in a small package! That is
what makes him unique, that and his adamantine skeleton
and claws.

But Wolverine is a very specific character! Jackman is
the same height as everybody else or even taller. They
didn't even do much to disguise it! Marvel lists Logan
at 5'3" for a very narrow specific PURPOSE!!! It's what
makes him way cool. Small but very deadly!!!

Jackman (6'2") is almost a foot taller than Logan
should be (5'3"). I can see using camera angles but
that is just ridiculous to me! Not that I didn't enjoy
Hugh's performance 'cause I did! But of all the
superheroes out there Wolverine is the one known runt...
well maybe there's some dwarfs out there like PUCK
but Logan's a very short yet normal guy. That's what
makes him so cool, able to take giants down with his
short height!
TheMyth
TheMyth - 1/4/2010, 2:17 AM
DDD, I think the Nightcrawler cast is one of te best on the page. Cillian Murphy rocks! He even made that shit movie 'Red Eye' fun for his part. The more I see it, the more I love Franco for Gambit. Also, I wouldn't say Wolvie's height is his defining characteristic, lol, but you are right in a sense of his shortness is being a part of who he is. Hugh does an astounding job AND loves the character. I'd be scared to attempt replacing him.
DDD
DDD - 1/4/2010, 11:01 AM
Myth@ I really like Jackman as Wolverine myself!
I just wanted a shorter guy than 6'2" to play a 5'3"
Logan!
