A Quiet Place Part II star Emily Blunt remains a fan-favourite choice to play Sue Storm in Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot. Unfortunately, it's not a role the actress is particularly interested in, and she emphasised that point during a recent interview with CinePop.
When it was mentioned that fans want to see play a superhero, Blunt was quick to dismiss the idea by pointing out that her roles in the horror sequel and Mary Poppins Returns are basically just that. "Really? This is my superhero. Mary Poppins is a superhero. I’ve done it."
The interviewer didn't stop there, though, and asked if there are any specific heroes or villains aside from the Invisible Woman Blunt would be interested in tackling. Again, she doesn't seem overly interested!
"I don't know," the actress confessed. "I'm not well-versed enough on it. I'm going to let the fans cast it because I don't know much about it."
While there's still a slim chance that John Krasinski might consider suiting up as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Mister Fantastic, chances are he won't be joined by his real-life wife as Sue Storm. Blunt came close to playing Black Widow once upon a time, but any interest she may have had in joining superhero franchise has clearly waned (and that's bad news for Fantastic Four fans).
