F4 cast haven't seen the finished movie yet

The cast of the rebooted Fantastic Four film have not yet seen the finished film (five days before it's released!) - does this spell doom for the movie?

In an interview with the BBC, the cast revealed they had not yet seen the final version of F4, just five days before it's released.

Miles Teller ("Reed Richards") also commented on the eventual reviews/ratings for the film, saying, "This is not a movie we're going to go on...Rotten Tomatoes and it's going to be at 80 or 90 per cent."

Read a bit more from Teller at the source.

So, does this interview affect your expecations for the film?  Sound off below...

I know everybody is gonna use this to shit on the movie but I'd like to point out.

Paul Bettany never saw any of the MCU films he was in (or voiced to put it better) until he was gonna play Vision in AOU

Not defending Fant4stic just saying.

@DrunkenMadNukem

They say that their movie doesn't have a chance at getting an 80% on RT? I don't see that very often at all

Here's what's gonna happen with Fant4stic. The truth.

It will make money. It will get a sequel. It won't flop. It will get between a 65%-85% on Rotten Tomatoes.

It will be a film critics likes. Why? Because critics don't care about comic book accuracy, they care about if it fits the qualities of a good movie.

The GA will like it like they did MOS and TASM.

Comic book fans will be very divided on the film and it won't end up being as bad as it thinks but it could have been a whole lot better.

That's the truth. Guarantee. Too much people here put on the fanboy cap and not the realistic cap.

I can't speak on actors not seeing the movie before it is released, because I do not know what the norm is for that. His comment on the other hand is the part that is weird. Just say that families will love it, or w/e. Don't say it's gonna get bashed before it is even released.

Levi just said that Bettany didn't see any Marvel movies before he was cast.........he didn't say he never saw AoU before it was released.......

2 totally different things, but w/e

@AsgardianHobo

Well Paul played Jarvis and he never saw any of the films he voiced as Jarvis in the MCU. When he heard he was going to play Vision, he watched all the MCU films including the ones he was in which he never saw.

@LEVITIKUZ

So he never watched the movies because he had an extremely limited part that he could voice in 1 day of recording. I have no idea how that is related at all to actors NOT BEING SHOWN the movie at all before release. Bettany chose to not to go to the premiers......

I am one of those people that are more possitive towards this movie. They show some really talented cast for this movie, and i have liked what i have seen of the trailers. Mostly after the second one.

But even i can admitt that their review embargo (on the recent Colider Heroes, acording to John Campea, they had even yet to show it to the press yet.) and stuff like this makes me worried about this movie.

If this movie would fail, i hope Marvel and/or WB take Mara, Miller, Bell and Jordan on other roles, since i think they are to good actors for just become wasted

Pretty sure Bettany doesn't bother with screenings and whatnot because he's a family man, it's got sod all to do with anything else.

I started out apprehensive for this film. I basically thought it was going to be pretty bad, but that I would definitely watch it, because I have to, I'm a comic book nerd.

Then the first trailers came out and I went from apprehensive to downright definite that I would watch this movie. It looked great to me, there was that eerie sci-fi kinda vibe to it, we got a decent basis of what the story of the movie was gonna be and all that other stuff.

Fast forward another wee while and the thrid trailer drops. My expectations are lowered again. I didn't like the sound of Thing's voice, and the TV Spots had a completely different tone to the trailers. Sill, I wanted to see the movie based on that initial trailer.

Now, withj the review embargo being set for lifting only TWO DAYS before the movie is released, I have no interest whatsoever in watching this movie. If the Studio is holding out on the sharing of critics opinions, or even just the opinions of the people at the premiere, I reckon the executives haven't got any faith whatsoever in this movie.

And now we're hearing that the main cast of the film haven't even seen a finished cut of the film yet. Either that's because there isn't a finished cut, or they haven't had the chance to see it. Either way, none too reassuring to me, and I will only see this film if, once it's released, it gets a good reception from fans and critics, or just fans, or just critics. As long as someone enjoys it, I'll consider that I might enjoy it as well.

Well this is embarrassing. An actor shouldn't talk/care about the RT score of a movie he is in. FoX's PR department has been smokin' pot lately.

@KurtWagner1225 Yea when I first read this it just said Miles and he wasn't at the screening. Then I went to the source and saw comments from Mara and Jordan. I'm not high on this movie but the original article is old or strictly put up to create bad press for the film.

Will FF4 be the first critically praised CBM ever made by FOX that isn't Xmen or Xmen related like The Wolverine ?

We will see.

But, regardless of all the controversy surrounding that reboot, the rumors, ect, with such bad track record in the non Xmen CBM, the odds are more on the rotten side than the other way around.

To me that movie 'success' will rely heavily on the critical reception to draw masses in the seats. Otherwise, another rotten FF4 will further erode even more the core value of this property.

After all, if people were questioning and criticizing Nolan before BB release, just because of Batman and Robin and Forever Batman, without taking into account that Nolan had a vastly Superior resume, that WB has had previous successes with Burton's Batman, if poeple are already criticizing a potential IM4 movie, despite a stellar IM and just because of M2 and IM3 though they are head and shoulder vastly superior to any Fox FF4 movie, then it is even more legitimate and even more valid to feel concern and have doubts about this FF4 movie with nothing than two previous duds and zero critically praised CBM but the Xmen movie in the hands of Fox.

The only thing that movie has as an asset is Trank's Chronicle but even that is weak as ypu can draw a tendency out of one single movie.

Uhh...

"Rarely are films of this size critically well received," he said. "This is not a movie we're going to go on (review website) Rotten Tomatoes and it's going to be at 80 or 90 per cent."

Let's take a look at just the last couple years for these types of films on RT...

Ant Man - 79%
Age of Ultron - 74%
Guardians of The Galaxy - 91%
X-Men Days of Future Past - 91%
CA: Winter Soldier - 89%
Thor: The Dark World - 66%
Iron Man 3 - 79%

All are pretty well received by critics... Sounds to me that he has no faith in this movie, and saying not to expect much

I can't wait till Fantastic 4 comes out.

Fantastic 4 will surprise everyone and become a major success; not only financially but also critically.

And it will be 10x better than that Failed Comedic Heist Borefest of a movie Called "Ant-man".

I'm not one to troll - long time reader of CBM, and saw this article and decided to register and post it b/c of Miles' comments about RT. They surprised me...
