Fox Cut The THING Divebomb Due To Budget Cuts

Previous reports on the Josh Trank and 20th Century Fox Fantastic Four fiasco gave intel on the reduction in budget that led to Trank losing three action beats in the film. One, was the Thing divebomb, but what were the other two?

One of the cooler TV spots for Fox and Josh Trank's Fantastic Four was the Thing, dive-bombing from a stealth fighter-jet into a terrorist camp.  According to Entertainment Weekly, that scene was cut due to the budget reduction by Fox, which slashd the Trank's budget from $150 M USD to $120 M USD.  It has been previously reported that the $30 million dollar budget cut led to Trank being forced to remove three main action beats from the film.

Scenes that don't make it into the final cut of the film appear in marketing material all the time, but generally speaking, the money shot that you frame your marketing campaign around typically makes it into the film.

Fantastic Four, starring Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Miles Teller and Jamie Bell is currently playing in theaters.

FOX should have cut the whole film.

Someone on the site posted a screenshot awhile ago of someone who was supposedly Trank himself on 4chan claiming that the scene was cut for that exact same reason. I dismissed it as fake because it said that Tim Blake Nelson's character was Harvey Elder when that wasn't the case, but this has me reconsidering. Perhaps he really was supposed to play Harvey Elder, but it was changed in reshoots/rewrites as I suggested.

I guess the FF news is getting rather old at this point. I say we lay off for now until news inevitably comes out that Miles Teller was [frick]ing Trank's wife. C'mon, you know you'd believe it!

At this rate FF4 won't even match GL domestic weekend gross, let alone Antman one, at the end of its domestic run.

This movie keeps on imploding. From epic financial loss to all the dirty laundry behind the scene, it just keeps on freefalling without parachute !

Like I said on another article, this movie was in trouble since the reboot was announced back in 2009! Think about it.

Strap yourselves in, boys. Disney have been pretty show-y with D23 so far this year. Lots of stuff announced and shown yesterday. Hopefully we get the same sort of deal today.
