FANT4STIC Actor Jamie Bell On Potentially Returning As The Thing: "I Don't Think Anybody Wants To See That"

Jamie Bell played Ben Grimm, aka The Thing, in 2015's disastrous Fantastic Four movie, and while the British actor is looking forward to the MCU reboot, he has n interest in reprising the role!

2015's Fantastic Four (often stylized as Fant4stic) is widely considered to be one of the worst comic book movies ever made, with reported on-set strife and studio interference resulting in a messy, disjoined disaster that tanked the franchise before it even got going.

Nobody involved with the project has had anything good to say about it over the years, so it's hardly surprising that the cast would have very little interest in revisiting their respective characters should the opportunity arise.

During an interview with ComicBook.com, Jamie Bell was asked if he'd be up for reprising the role of Ben Grimm, aka The Thing, and while it sounds like the Rocketman actor is very much looking forward to Marvel Studios' take on the iconic superhero team, he doesn't think "anyone wants to see" him back as The Thing.

"I don't think anyone wants to see that, to be honest. I'm excited for it," he said of the upcoming reboot. "I can't wait to see that, for that to come to life. I can't wait to see that movie done, fully realized in that Kevin Feige way, it's going to be fantastic."

Michael Chiklis, who played the same character in 2005's Fantastic Four and its sequel Rise of the Silver Surfer, recently weighed in with his own thoughts on the planned reboot, and he believes that the project will "fail" of they try to make it "dark and brooding."

As of right now, all we really know about the new FF movie is that it'll be helmed by Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts, but casting is expected to get underway later this year.
