I though the first Hobbit movie was just ok. I went into this one think "meh might as well see it". I came out of it going "Wow that's the best movie I've seen all year".

i'm gonna watch it while i'll be at home for Christmas.
Hope it's better than part 1, more fast paced. With tighter editing. First one was ok. Good movie. Could be a lot better, but there were to many scenes that made it kinda boring. Last action scene was way too long. Also kinda ... meh.

still better than Return of The King.

It was great, I loved it. That Barrel ride on the rapid river scene was so crazy...and Smaug was BOSS!!!!!
and the cliffhanger owned...."what have we done?!?"

The holiday will give this movie some pretty damn long legs. Box office Mojo seems to think it will top out at 250-270 million bucks domestically, 900 and change worldwide. Not bad at all.

It probably won't reach a billion, but it's certainly within reach. While there are a whole bunch of films coming out around the holiday, other than 47 Ronin, there isn't much competition for that kind of big-budget "event" market.

Loved it and my friend did as well. She thought it was much better than the first. I would say this is the first film I have watched in 3D that I felt the 3D really added to the experience.

I'll see the film next year. I'm glad the film is making money.
