Variety reports that Twilight and The Grey actor Joe Anderson has joined the cast of Hercules as, "a marathon runner who brings Hercules news of enemy Rhesus' movement before the battle." The actor will next be seen opposite Daniel Radcliffe in Horns. The Brett Ratner helmed move - which ditches the well-known supernatural elements of the titular character - still has plenty of star power in the form of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, and John Hurt. The film is based on the Radical Studios graphic novel, Hercules: The Thracian Wars. President Barry Levine of Radical Studios is a producer and Executive VP Jesse Berger is an executive producer on the film. How do you guys feel about the way the cast is shaping up so far?

Everyone knows the legend of Hercules and his twelve labors. Our story begins after the labors, and after the legend. Haunted by a sin from his past, Hercules has become a mercenary. Along with five faithful companions, he travels ancient Greece selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. But when the benevolent ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail… he must again become the hero he once was… he must embrace his own myth… he must be Hercules.

I didn't know this was based on a graphic novel. I thought studios would've learned by now not to have Brett Ratner touch any comic medium.

Great actor, and yes he is the spitting image of Kurt but he's too old to play him in a flick I'm afraid.

Hercules without the whole son of zeus and superhuman strength thing is pointless. Sounds like it will just be a Conan movie.
