JUMANJI: THE NEXT LEVEL First Trailer Sees Some Surprising New Players Enter The Game

The first trailer for Jumanji: The Next Level is now online, and it promises another fun romp through the jungle... as well as several other potentially lethal locations.

The main players from the last movie are all back for this new adventure, but this time a couple of older gentlemen played by Danny DeVito and Danny Glover enter the game as Doctor Smolder Bravestone (Dwayne Johnson) and Franklin Finbar (Kevin Hart), respectively. Meanwhile, Fridge (Ser'Darius Blain) is now Professor Shelly Oberon (Jack Black), and Martha (Morgan Turner) once again takes the Ruby Roundhouse (Karen Gillan) avatar.

In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect. The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape the world’s most dangerous game.

What do guys make of this first trailer for Jumanji: The Next Level? The action comedy sequel hits theaters on December 13th, 2019.

Literally losing my mind. The first one (not the OG, which i also love) is SO funny. Great cast all around, Jack Black pretending to be a teenage girl was golden. The first genuinelly funny wiener jokes in cinema. This looks just as [frick]. So excited!!

Some how this looks even funnier than the last one. I don't know how they did it, but my god!

Looks...fine. The most enjoyable part of the trailer was Kevin Hart's off but somewhat spot-on impression of Danny Glover (probably as a response to people thinking he was too Kevin Hart-like in WTTJ).

We'll see, but so far, not much to get me hyped and definitely feels like a definitive example of a forgettable sequel.

The black kid is now in the body of Jack Black.

So... is that technically whitewashing?

So wait, 2 out of 4 kids are going to be in the game this time?

What about Spencer? From the trailer I would say his avatar will be a surprise. Or he will be Nick Jonas this time. Can't wait to find out.

Haha, pretty funny and good trailer. Looks like it might be better than Welcome to the Jungle.

Whoever’s idea it was to make Danny DeVito play as The Rock deserves a pay raise.

This movie looks awesome.

@regularmovieguy - I like how they're not just going bigger like most sequels do, they're inversing the premise. Looks pretty cute, that last one was surprisingly clever; it's the only one of these Sony re-quels to actually be good.

@tmp3

Agreed. It’s a fun play on the premise. My expectations for the first one were so low but I had a blast with it.

Seems like Sony saw they had a good thing after the first made a billion and didn’t want to [frick] it up with a lazy sequel.

Good on them.

Once again, just like with its predecessor, this movie has no business looking as much fun as it does. Maybe I'm just a sucker for this video game type world and the comedy from The Rock and Kevin Hart, but this looks hilariously awesome.
