Listen To Billy Boyd's Song For THE HOBBIT: TBOTFA - "The Last Goodbye"

Billy Boyd (Pippin in the LOTR trilogy) sang a song for Faramir as he led his men to certain death on the battlefield in Return Of The King, and Peter Jackson called on the actor once again to write and perform this lovely tune for his final Hobbit flick..

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” brings to an epic conclusion the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield and the Company of Dwarves. Having reclaimed their homeland from the Dragon Smaug, the Company has unwittingly unleashed a deadly force into the world. Enraged, Smaug rains his fiery wrath down upon the defenseless men, women and children of Lake-town. Obsessed above all else with his reclaimed treasure, Thorin sacrifices friendship and honor to hoard it as Bilbo’s frantic attempts to make him see reason drive the Hobbit towards a desperate and dangerous choice. But there are even greater dangers ahead. Unseen by any but the Wizard Gandalf, the great enemy Sauron has sent forth legions of Orcs in a stealth attack upon the Lonely Mountain. As darkness converges on their escalating conflict, the races of Dwarves, Elves and Men must decide – unite or be destroyed. Bilbo finds himself fighting for his life and the lives of his friends in the epic Battle of the Five Armies, as the future of Middle-earth hangs in the balance.

Starring Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Evangeline Lilly, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ken Stott, James Nesbitt, Cate Blanchett, Ian Holm, Hugo Weaving and Orlando Bloom, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is set to be released on December 17th.

Nice sentiment. Probably end credit only.

I really enjoyed how "The Edge of Night" was used in RotK.
This is fine, but I doubt it will underscore such an emotional scene

I hope this is the last Hobbit Movie… They sure are boring with great FX and scenery…
Hope we see some Dwarf ladies naked in this one.

The song in ROTK was good, didn't get a chance to listen to this before it got taken down but Boyd has a good sad voice.

Hope the final hobbit movie is good, the other two were pretty awful. But with this one they can actually make a real movie and not have to leave more for another, which should make a big difference.

Loved that they used his song in the trailer. That was one of the most powerful, and moving scenes in the series, and a lot of that is due to the haunting way Boyd sang the song, and the foreshadowing/foreboding message the lyrics had with it. This is a great song too, and I'm happy Boyd got to be brought back in some way. Pippin was a lot of fun!!

Doesn't play. Don't make me venture out into the internet to look for it.

But it sounds like PJ just wanted all his family around when making these flicks.
