Mariah Carey's latest sing, "Almost Home," was officially released today. It is the theme song to the upcoming Disney film, Oz: The Great and Powerful. The song was produced and written by Mariah, Stargate, Simone Porter, Justin Gray and Lindsey Ray. The music video will make it's debut March 8, same day as the film is released in theaters.

The 43-year-old singer is currently working on her new album, which is expected to hit stores in the Spring. Her last album came in 2010, "Merry Christmas II You."

Disney's fantastical adventure "Oz The Great and Powerful," directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum's beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he's hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone's been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well. The film lands in theaters March 8, 2013!

If you don't want to face legitimate criticism for posting unrelated fluff for a Disney movie, disable comments. This is not a story I would even care about other than "Why is this here?". You guys have a lot to learn about your own demographic.

In case some of you have missed it somehow by having your head stuck in the sand, this site covers more than just comic book movies...fantasy, science fiction, etc. now, though there are Oz comic books.

So...this is no different than posting an article on Zimmer's music for a film. No one seems to bitch about that.

Say what you want about Mariah, but she has one of the best vocal ranges ever in the industry and the sale of her music speaks for itself.

Great. Now I know NOT to waste my money on a ticket to this horseshit movie. If they got HER to do a song, then the movie has to be utter crap. Not that I was holding out for great theater or anything, but a Mariah Carey theme song screams poster project bullshit to me.

Yeah, because having a 34-time nominated and 5-time winning Grammy artist recording one song for your film means it will be utter crap. *face palm*

^^^ I have heard of an Oz comic without googling it and it is painfully obvious you have no clue what Big G's vision is because he has already included movies like Oz in that vision. If you paid any attention to the site here you would know that.

And once again the comments section for an article such as this one does not disappoint.

We have a tendency in this country to build people up, but want to see them fall(in some shape form or fashion) when they do reach the top. Mariah is a human being like the rest of us. She understands the pros and cons of being an entertainer, but do people HAVE to try and find fault? If you like her, fine. If you don,t there are other artists out there. No one hits a home run every time at bat. She has a great voice, married(happily to a great guy, Nick Cannon)with kids, and give 110% to her art. It seems like people are more supportive of the ones that exibit bad behavior than the ones that try to do right. Remember what Jesus said "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone".
