The second season of Prime Video's The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has added eight more cast members, and some of them might be playing "other ring-bearers" and Nazgûl...

The second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power recently added seven new cast members (including a replacement for Joseph Mawle as Adar), and Prime Video has now announced that eight more actors have joined the ensemble in recurring roles.

Oliver Alvin-Wilson (Wonder Woman 1984, The Huntsman), Stuart Bowman (Alex Rider, Bodyguard), Gavi Singh Chera (The Undeclared War, The Lazarus Project), William Chubb (The Sandman, Vampire Academy), Kevin Eldon (Game of Thrones, Shadow And Bone), Will Keen (My Lady Jane, The Crown), Selina Lo (Boss Level, Hellraiser), and Calam Lynch (Bridgerton, Derry Girls) have all been added to the already sprawling cast.

No details on any of their characters were revealed, but Deadline's report mentions that the second season "is expected to introduce other ring-bearers, including Dwarf-kings and Nazgûl, who may be played by some of the cast additions."

Check out some head-shots in the Twitter thread below, along with an updated synopsis.

The Rings of Power brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth's history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness.

Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared reemergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the farthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

Season Two of the series is produced by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne & Patrick McKay. They are joined by executive producers Lindsey Weber, Callum Greene, Justin Doble, Jason Cahill, and Gennifer Hutchison, along with co-executive producer Charlotte Brandstrom, producers Kate Hazell and Helen Shang, and co-producers Andrew Lee, Matthew Penry-Davey, and Clare Buxton.
