THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER Promo Teases Middle-Earth's Fiery Future; New Trailer On The Way

Prime Video has released a new 15-second teaser for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, though a minute-long version was shared exclusively on the streaming service (don't fret if you're not a subscriber, though, as you can find it below).

Neither version gives too much away, though that's probably because a full-length trailer is coming on July 14. Ents have been added to a scene previously shown in the Super Bowl sneak peek, while we also get to take a closer look at a number of the show's lead characters.

Among them are Morfydd Clark's Galadriel, Benjamin Walker's High King Gil-galad, and comedian Lenny Henry as Sadoc Burrows. However, what's interesting is that these characters and races are currently united in the sense that they're all transfixed by the comet that's heading to Middle-earth.

We know The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will tell Sauron's origin story, so is it possible that this will somehow tie into that fiery villain's sinister powers? Time will tell on that front, but as this teaser notes, "The skies are strange." Something tells us things will only get stranger from here for these characters as Middle-earth braces for some seismic changes.

The show, adapted from J.R.R. Tolkien's iconic series of novels, is set to take place during the Second Age, thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. This story is set to follow a cast made up of established and new characters as they "confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth" (a.k.a. Sauron).

The series boasts a massive ensemble, while J.D. Payne & Patrick McKay are set to serve as showrunners. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power premieres on September 2, later this year!

It really bothers me that the younger elves seem to have short preppy style hair.

It's amazing how one artistic choice by the creators nearly cripples the whole show. SHORT. HAIRED. ELVES. Looks absolutely ridiculous. Stupidest decision ever.

@Super12 - if the length of a character's hair ruins a show for you, I think you have other issues to deal with.

The thing with modern shows and TV is that they can throw all the money and CGI they want at it as well as the fanciest sets, but that magic and craftsmanship of movies from 2010 and before, can’t be captured again.
