“Maleficent” is the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the 1959 classic “Sleeping Beauty.” A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal—an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom—and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well.

Maleficent is being directed by Robert Stromberg, based on a screenplay by Paul Dini and Linda Woolverton. The cast includes: Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, Sharlto Copley, Juno Temple, Sam Riley, Miranda Richardson and Imelda Staunton. Will land in theaters May 30, 2014.

Funny, I was just talking about this earlier. Here's an idea. The Disney Princess movies are for little girls. Frozen was a huge hit, as was Tangled. My daughters will not see this movie. Looks to scary. And frankly, as an adult, I don't want to see this either. Why not redo all the old Disney Princess movies like Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast in the same animation style as Tangled and Frozen. Update the story a bit so kids want to go see them.

Frozen has a cameo of Repunzell and Flynn in it. There are websites and boards for the movie fans. These fans try to connect the Princess movies to all be in the same universe and time. Why not redo the old ones, and then Disney follows suit with the Marvel movies and team up a bunch of the Princesses together. Maybe have the villians team up or get a new villian that brings certain elements from the movies together. My daughters would go ape for that and I bet fans would to.

@wookiefit76 I'm in for the movies remake in the same style of Tangled and Frozen! I don't like the crossover idea though.

I just hope to see this movie in live-action:

Well as an adult I'm excited to see it and I know alot of people are excited to see it. Maleficent is one of my all time favorite Disney villains and her look is also one of the best Disney villain looks.

Wookiefit76@ They probably decided to give her actual horns to give her a legit reason as to why she has these horn shaped things on her head.
