After the amazing The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey teaser trailer that debuted back in December, many fans have been expecting to see a new trailer this summer (possibly with The Dark Knight Rises, which arrrives in cinemas next week). But that won't happen, as Peter Jackson says:

Don’t expect a new trailer. That’s not coming until September.

But there's some good news too. He says:

A new production vlog that should soon be ready, including behind-the-scenes footage of their experiences at Comic Con, and perhaps bits of the Hobbit Reel that will be showcased there too.

Andy Serkis (who plays Gollum in the highly anticipated prequel) adds that some new footage will be presented exclusively to 6,500 people at Comic-Con:

It’s kind of vignettes of various different scenes from the first movie and then kind of focusing in on the characters… introducing you to all the Dwarf characters. It’s about eight-and-a-half minutes introducing the characters.

Jackson is also screening the Hobbit reel at 24 fps in 2D. He says that:

When we screened only the 48fps reel at CinemaCon a few months ago, some bloggers focussed stories, not on the content, but on their negative reaction to 10 mins of high frame rate footage. This reaction convinced me that the only fair way to experience 48fps, is to sit down and watch a complete feature length movie, with a narrative, not quick trailer cuts.

Release Date: December 14, 2012 (3D/2D theaters and IMAX)
Studio: Warner Bros. Pictures
Director: Peter Jackson
Screenwriter: Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens, Guillermo del Toro, Peter Jackson
Starring: Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, Elijah Wood, Evangeline Lilly, Andy Serkis
Genre: Adventure, Fantasy
MPAA Rating: Not Available

Disappointed!? Be sure to share your thoughts in the comments. And as for the presentation, it is happening in Hall H at Comic-Con between 2.30pm PDT and 5.30pm PDT.

It would probably make More sense not to use the higher frame rate for the whole movie but only for certain scenes.

A bit disappointed that they couldn't have a trailer ready for The Dark Knight Rises, but I'm sure it will be amazing when it hits in September.
