Arrow returned to the CW tonight, and the network has released the official description for the fourth episode of the second season; "Crucible". It sounds as if we should expect to see Stephen Amell's 'Oliver Queen' come face to face at last with Caity Lotz's 'Canary'. Check it out!

OLIVER MEETS THE CANARY — Oliver (Stephen Amell) discovers a man who goes by the name “The Mayor” (guest star Cle Bennett) is bringing illegal guns in to The Glades, so Oliver sponsors a “Cash for Guns” event to help clean up the city. Unfortunately, The Mayor crashes the event with his gang and seriously injures Sin (guest star Bex Taylor-Klaus). The Canary (Caity Lotz) is furious when she learns her friend is in the hospital and sets out for revenge. Meanwhile, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) stuns Oliver with a bit of information about the Canary, Donner (guest star Dylan Bruce) asks Laurel (Katie Cassidy) to dinner, and Diggle (David Ramsey) reconnects with an old friend. Eagle Egilsson directed the episode written by Andrew Kreisberg & Wendy Mericle (#204).

tonights episode was AWESOME
Everything I wanted the writers to address was addressed and the action was on point. Stephen Amell has embraced Green Arrow and I hope he is rewarded with a role in Justice League.

i thought this was a good episode though i felt like the comic con trailer had given the whole episode away,i got really excited at the end!! and guys please stop comparing this to agents of shield,keep this arrow related and keep the AOS articles related to that show,AOS just fricking started,its 3 episodes in while this show now is in its second season,if aos was is its second season then you could discuss which one is better,i like AOS,it can and probably will get better ,this show took awhile to get going too so just calm down and stop with marvel and dc crap!!

That episode was awesome. AoS's problem is that it is connected to the MCU. I mean it's cool that it is connected but at the same time they can't introduce the characters that we all want to see because Marvel isn't sure of where the show is going yet. Marvel needs to introduce some heroes soon on that show or it will most certainly fail. No one wants to watch a Marvel show about non-super heroes/shield without superheroes being involved in some fashion.

Ha if they say Emerald Archer or just Arrow- I will be slightly disappointed. Green Arrow needs to be said out loud. It was stupid enough on Smallville with that BLUR bullshite.

It was an okay first ep. A little too much melodrama and forced angst for me and the hoods were uninspiring as bad guys. The best part was Black Canary. It was a fair start to a new season. Hope the next ep is better.

They need Jessica,Luke Cage,Danny Rand,Simon Wonder,Cloak and Dagger and possibly the Power Pack because 24 episodes of just Coulson and co. will get boring quick.

AoS needs a main stay super hero on the team. It needs a hero that doesn't require too much CGI and that would be dynamic on the show

Get Daredevil, MoonKnight, Punisher, Elektra, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Hawkeye, etc. like Marvel REALLY needs some big factor brought in or some sort if continuous plot cuz AoS needs to be amped up

MAybe this canry dies then Lauren takes up the name of the Black Canary. I am just wondering if she is going to have super powers. Part of me wants some super powers but another part of me doesn't want powers in the show. I love the atmosphere this show has and introducing super powers would kind of ruin that.

ok,i was the guy saying to keep arrow and AOS seperate but here i go,i think AOS is marvels test for tv and if it works, we will get more shows that will be based on superheroes just like how Arrow has been the test for dc so just give it sometime,look we get to care for characters as they go on so why cant we let AOS that courtesy?

Imagine that first episode of the season and we already get a new character and next week another or possibly two.

Wait I thought when this show started that Laurel was Canary because her name was Laurel Dinah Lance...Canary's real name, her father on the show is Detective Lance. And now they are bringing someone else in for Canary's role???
