Stephen Amell spoke to Spoiler TV about what the rest of season 2 has in store for viewers. On episodes focusing on the supporting cast, Amell stated, "Some of our best episodes in our second season have been episodes where I wasn’t really the primary focus. Episode 6 was very much David Ramsey’s episode. Episode 8 is Grant Gustin’s episode as Barry Allen. Episode 11 is very much Katie Cassidy’s episode. Episode 13 is very much the Lance family. And I’m talking about episodes that we haven’t gotten to yet. But building the world is important because [...] one person cannot carry a show. We have a phenomenal supporting cast, and giving them more to do makes my life way better.”
But just where is season 2 headed? Is it towards a showdown with Slade (Manu Bennett)? Or will Malcolm (John Barrowman) step out of the shadows? "We don’t say a character’s name unless that character is going to factor in," teased Amell. He continued, "We don’t hint at something unless we’re going to pay it off. So I know that at the end of episode 14, we end in a spot where we get our first glimpse on where we are going to end after 23 episodes. That’s what I’m most excited about because I want people to see it. What we are building towards in the second season is very much one giant group on one side and one giant group on the other side and just, [a collision of groups], coming head‑to‑head. So we are populating our world in the second season for a very specific reason, and I can’t wait to see the results.”
Very interesting. Oliver's camp is already full with Roy (Colton Haynes), Diggle (Ramsey) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), although the latter isn't a fighter. Assuming Slade leads the other group, along with Brother Blood (Kevin Alejandro), who gets added to their roster? Chyna White (Kelly Hu) and Bronze Tiger (Michael Jai White) are not completely out of the picture and Ra's Al Ghul's daughter is on the way, played by Spartacus alum Katrina Law. Arrow returns from mid-season hiatus tomorrow with episode 2x10. We'll need four more weeks to get to episode 14 and see just where season 2's endgame is headed per Amell's hint. What do you want to see?

"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine." |
