Official synopsis:

Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) is the son of LA’s most prominent and respected media magnate and perfectly happy to maintain a directionless existence on the party scene — until his father mysteriously dies, leaving Britt his vast media empire. Striking an unlikely friendship with one of his father’s more industrious and inventive employees, Kato (Jay Chou), they see their chance to do something meaningful for the first time in their lives: fight crime. But in order to do this, they decide to become criminals themselves — protecting the law by breaking it, Britt becomes the vigilante The Green Hornet as he and Kato hit the streets.

Using all his ingenuity and skill, Kato builds the ultimate in advanced retro weaponry, The Black Beauty, an indestructible car equal parts firepower and horsepower. Rolling in a mobile fortress on wheels and striking the bad guys with Kato’s clever gadgets, The Green Hornet and Kato quickly start making a name for themselves, and with the help of Britt’s new secretary, Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz), they begin hunting down the man who controls LA’s gritty underworld: Benjamin Chudnofsky ( Christoph Waltz). But Chudnofsky has plans of his own: to swat down The Green Hornet once and for all.

In the first new still, we get a glimpse at some of the awesome gadgets under the hood of "The Black Beauty." (Shouldn't it be green? I'm just saying...)

In the second new still, we get our first look at Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) as Chudnofsky.

And, in this promo video from Splash, we get a few glimpses of action from the movie, as well as some behind-the-scenes footage of the action as it is being filmed.

This is gonna be Pineapple express without the Pineapple express. I hope Red and Matheson's in it

@tea: Ha! That does look like a boob! Leave it to you to point that out!

I'm...not too sure about this movie. I like Rogen's humor in movies like Pineapple Express, but I don't know if it suits a "superhero" movie.

Plus, what's with the "double" action going on here? Two guns on the Black Beauty, two barrels on Chudnofsky's gun...seems like someone was like, "How can we make Chudnofsky cooler? Oh, I know, let's give his gun two barrels?" That's the kind of logic that sunk Jonah Hex.

Great article Brent! :)

I think the movie looks great and I'm a fan of Rogen's...this is definitely a very different sort of role to put him in though and it'll be interesting to see whether he can handle it as I'd love to see him do more than just comedies. (even though Green Hornet does sort of look like one!) I do hope he scales back the whole bumbling improv stuff as I just cant see that fitting in with this character at all.

Nice find. Ever since the trailer, I don't have high expectations for this movie.

As LEE once mentioned, it does look like a PARODY of the Green Hornet, but it still might be a fun movie to watch.

@Taboo

We can only hope

@DDD

I like Seth Rogen too, but i don't think that he was the right person for the role. Maybe he fits into the direction that this film is going for, but even that direction isn't exactly what a Green Hornet movie should be going for. But I guess we'll all have to wait till January to see if it all worked out.

Yeah, Supermario@ I wanted to see a more
serious take on GH with maybe a little
tongue and cheek humor like the old TV
show! But I didn't want a slapstick parody.

GH calls for someone more like Christian
Bale to play him than Rogen. But yep we
just have to wait and find out in Jan.

Rogen does look goofy, for say something, for this role but I think the trailer looks good I'll give it the benefit of the doubt to this movie.

Seth Rogen has been miscast to represent the Green Hornet,this is a major error. If they were making a movie about "Happy Days" and he was being cast as "Potsy" that would have been a good decision. Casting Rogen as the GH is like casting Davis Spade as "Thor".
