Green Lantern was set to begin filming this year in November. However the deceit of the Australian government has delayed this film's shooting early next year. Where you may ask? This is from Insidifilm.com:
"Warner Bros is understood to be preparing to shift its Green Lantern production to Mexico from Australia, where the booming currency has blown out costs."
Why did I say deceit? Because the Australian government says to Warner Bros: hey take a trip to the land down under, mate, where filming movies will cost you less to make because of our awesome government tax breaks we will give you." Once Warner Bros gets there, the first thing that is handed to them is a fat bill noting the inflated currency rate, making the production in Australia no longer profitable and forcing Warner Brothers to scout filming locations elsewhere. Next up Mexico.
First "The Green Lantern" was filming in Australia, then it was rumored to be filming in Louisiana, and now Mexico? Well, if they are trying to beat the currency exchange rate issue, Mexico would be the place to go. I do know one thing, "Green Lantern" better get made. Australia is starting to remind me of what the Madden video game does to the star that is on the cover, cripple them. "Justice League" started in Australia and never got off the ground. No more Australia connections. I want Green Lantern filming now!
