Looks like we have our first new Guardians Of The Galaxy recruit, as according to THR relative newcomer Pom Klementieff has joined the cast of the James Gunn-directed sequel in what seems to be a major role, but one that shall remain a mystery for the time being. The only clue we have is that the part is apparently ethnicity specific, as the site reports that "Marvel conducted a wide search for its mystery part, which called for an Asian actress, doing several rounds of chemistry reads."

Any established Marvel characters of Asian decent that could be drafted into space to fight bad guys with Star Lord and his team of intergalactic A-holes?

Shooting on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 commences early next year, for a March 5, 2017 release.

I'll be the first and only one to guess Moondragon, since Gunn said the next film is "a story about Fathers" Plural. So Star Lord's pops and...Drax?

But that it implies it is Mantis, but Gunn said he wanted Peter to be the only human, the article says it is supposed to be ethnically specific to an asian ethnicity, so the character is DEFINITELY going to be asian(human), at least according to the article. It would honestly be really cool if Mantis was a part of it but I was expecting something more along the lines of Quasar, Adam Warlock, or moondragon, heck even Angela is a realistic and awesome possibility. Although, I do love the character of Mantis if that is indeed the case, also more diversity and girl power.

Or maybe, just like that alien race with the name that means clitoris, it's just an obscure alien mentioned off-handedly in some obscure comic from the 60's. James Gunn is in WAY too deep with GOTG lore.

I really hope Moondragon is in this. After all, its been said GOTG vol. 2 would be about fathers....maybe Drax will learn the truth about his past life.

I would much rather have Quasar/Martyr Phylla-Vell than Moondragon or Mantis join the team.

The guardians need more visual diversity and Phylla's powers can do that

i think moondragon then it can tie into the them of fathers, quill and his dad, gamora and nebula with thanos and drax with moondragon.

I would've thought so myself but Mantis seems more appropriate based on her ethnicity and the info in the article, but Moondragon makes sense for the story, it is just that they are two character have no relevance to one another, if Gunn adds two character it is most likely either moon dragon and phyla vell because they're in lesbians with each other, or adam and phyla because that would complete the original 2008 roster perfectly. Dang, I hate speculating............ JUST TELL US WHO IT IS, GUNN!!!
