James Gunn Says GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 Is A "Story About Fathers"
While speaking with Vulture Guardians of The Galaxy director, James Gunn , discussed the story for his sequel, and reveals whether he has any plans for a third installment. Check it out after the jump.
One plot thread in Guardians of The Galaxy left hanging for future films was Peter Quill's mysterious father. While speaking with Vulture James Gunn discussed the story of Guardians of The Galaxy 2, and teases a resolution to that plot thread.. "There's a lot of stuff I'm excited about in the new movie," the director told Vulture, "Listen, I'm still excited about Star-Lord's character and where he goes. At its heart, Guardians is a story about families, and if the first film was about him and his mother, this is a story about fathers. So it's exciting to go there." It may be worth noting that Gunn says "fathers" rather than "father", so perhaps we'll see the sequel explore other fathers like Thanos and his "children", Drax's past with his daughter, or someone else entirely.
The Guardians director also revealed that not only did he have an idea for the sequel while making first Guardians, but he also has plans for "the third one!"
