In the midst of some talk about the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie taking place before the events of Avengers: Infinity War, director James Gunn has taken to Twitter to set the record straight...

In an attempt to make fans believe that the superhero body-count in Avengers: Infinity War will stick, several people involved with the Marvel epic - including writers Steve McFeely and Christopher Markus - have suggested that some of the upcoming sequels that have already greenlit could feature new takes on the heroes, or be set before "The Snap."

More recently, Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo and star Chris Pratt have echoed this, insinuating that the upcoming GOTG Vol. 3 could be a prequel.

Well, just in case you may have been taken in by that, here's the film's director to set things straight:



No big surprise there - though it is interesting that Gunn isn't playing coy about this like some of his colleagues. Perhaps he's simply aware that nobody would buy it!

Now, if we could just get confirmation that an Andy Griffith hologram and The Blue Man Group won't be replacing the core team members...
