GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Vol. 3 Set Photo May Give Us A First Look At [SPOILER]

Another photo from the set of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been shared online, and while it doesn't actually include any cast members, the imagery appears to feature... a certain character!

Some revealing photos from the set of James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 recently found their way online, and while this latest snap doesn't actually feature any cast members in-costume, it might just give us a first glimpse of a character that's yet to be officially confirmed as being part of the movie.

It's widely believed that Peacemaker actor Chukwudi Iwuji will play the High Evolutionary in the MCU threequel, and while there's a chance this artwork depicts a completely different character, it certainly resembles the villain's comic book counterpart.

Of course, even if this is the High Evolutionary, Iwuji will probably look significantly different in live-action, but this does give us some idea of how the character will be portrayed.

Vol. 3 is set to hit theaters exactly one year from today, and Gunn shared the following Tweet with a BTS shot of his Vol. 2 cast.

GOTG Vol. 3 story details are still a closely guarded secret, but a few nuggets have been revealed over the past year or so. We do know that Gamora (Zoe Saldana) will be a big part of the movie, and a recent report indicated that her relationship with Nebula is going to be the main focus. Of course, this Gamora is a Variant of the original who doesn't know any of her teammates, so we can probably expect a very different dynamic between the "sisters" this time.

Saldana and Gillan will be joined by the returning Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Dave Bautista (Drax), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Sean Gunn (Rocket/Kraglin), and Sylvester Stallone as Stakar Ogord/Starhawk, with Will Poulter on board as Adam Warlock.

@GirshwinDavies - most def, they’re really weird big furless black chihuahuas with raccoonish hands that supposedly roam in packs, I’ve only ever seen one in a cage. Alive. On tv but still. Some guy caught it

I’m not familiar with the High Evolutionary character what so ever. So everything about this movie will be brand new to me.

Never heard of the actor before Peacemaker but I really enjoyed his character and his performance.

I love it. This, and the images of hybrids with animal faces on the set, makes me think that the Guardians traveled to the world of the High Evolutionary, where he proclaims himself the god of creation. Something similar to the island of Doctor Moreau.

I wonder if High Evolutionary will be operating on Counter Earth while manipulating Warlock to believe he’s his father or something like that. If the series continues, I’d love to finally have Magus and the Universal Church of Truth.

@Benjamitesandwich - I think Gunn will change the High Eveolutionary's origin just like he did with Ego to better fit the story.

Universal Church of Truth is definitely something I wanna see too though

@Benjamitesandwich - I can see Magus as a residual entity fighting to take over Adam's body. When Adam is weakened at the end of Vol. 3 and he is unable to stop his dark namesake, the Magus takes control of Adam's body in a post-credit scene.

Also, I can imagine Phyla Vell leading the new Guardians fighting the Universal Church of Truth.

Five years already since the last one? Time sure feels like it's moving weird. 2017-2020 felt like five years already, whereas 2020-2022 only feels like half a year.

Either way, look forward to this one. I thoroughly enjoyed both Guardians movies and Peacemaker, so I hope this is gonna turn out great.

I do hope Guardians 3 introduced Galactus but doesn't bring him into the fray so fast. I think he needs to be built up through The Eternals 2, Guardians Vol 3, The Marvels, and then set up Avengers 4 with Fantastic 4 with Galactus as the villain.

Looks more like Apocalypse because of the big lips, prominent brow, and chin.
