Some revealing photos from the set of James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 recently found their way online, and while this latest snap doesn't actually feature any cast members in-costume, it might just give us a first glimpse of a character that's yet to be officially confirmed as being part of the movie.
It's widely believed that Peacemaker actor Chukwudi Iwuji will play the High Evolutionary in the MCU threequel, and while there's a chance this artwork depicts a completely different character, it certainly resembles the villain's comic book counterpart.
Of course, even if this is the High Evolutionary, Iwuji will probably look significantly different in live-action, but this does give us some idea of how the character will be portrayed.
Vol. 3 is set to hit theaters exactly one year from today, and Gunn shared the following Tweet with a BTS shot of his Vol. 2 cast.
GOTG Vol. 3 story details are still a closely guarded secret, but a few nuggets have been revealed over the past year or so. We do know that Gamora (Zoe Saldana) will be a big part of the movie, and a recent report indicated that her relationship with Nebula is going to be the main focus. Of course, this Gamora is a Variant of the original who doesn't know any of her teammates, so we can probably expect a very different dynamic between the "sisters" this time.
Saldana and Gillan will be joined by the returning Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Dave Bautista (Drax), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Sean Gunn (Rocket/Kraglin), and Sylvester Stallone as Stakar Ogord/Starhawk, with Will Poulter on board as Adam Warlock.
