The Wrap is reporting that 2x Primetime Emmy-nominee Brian Tyree Henry is in advanced talks to join the cast of Paramount's
A Quiet Place sequel in an undisclosed role.
Henry joins a cast that features returning stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe - who all reprise their roles from the 2018 horror blockbuster - and fellow franchise newcomer Cillian Murphy (
Batman Begins), who will play a man with mysterious intentions that joins the family unit.
The first film grossed over $340 million on a modest $17 million production budget, which gave Paramount Pictures all the incentive needed to fast track a sequel.
John Krasinski will return to the director's chair, utilizing his own script, while Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, and Michael Bay will serve as producers.
Henry is best known for his role as Paper Boi on the hit FX series
Atlanta and has also starred in
This Is Us,
Vice Principals,
Hotel Artemis,
White Boy Rick,
Widows,
If Beale Street Could Talk, and the Academy Award-winning
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. He also has an exciting upcoming slate with roles in
Child's Play,
Superintelligence,
The Woman in the Window,
Joker,
The Outside Story, and
Godzilla vs. Kong.
Filming is slated to begin this summer with a May 15, 2020 release date in mind.
