Fangoria have released a brand new teaser poster for Texas Chainsaw 3D (a new title for the film which for some reason has slashed "The" and "Massacre"), a new take on the popular horror series featuring killer Leatherface. Check out the poster down below and stay tuned to CBM for the trailer which should hit soon!

Lionsgate's Texas Chainsaw 3D continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace. The townspeople long suspected the Sawyer family, owners of a local barbeque pit, were somehow responsible. Their suspicions were finally confirmed one hot summer day when a young woman escaped the Sawyer house following the brutal murders of her four friends. Word around the small town quickly spread, and a vigilante mob of enraged locals surrounded the Sawyer stronghold, burning it to the ground and killing every last member of the family – or so they thought.

Decades later and hundreds of miles away from the original massacre, a young woman named Heather learns that she has inherited a Texas estate from a grandmother she never knew she had. After embarking on a road trip with friends to uncover her roots, she finds she is the sole owner of a lavish, isolated Victorian mansion. But her newfound wealth comes at a price as she stumbles upon a horror that awaits her in the mansion’s dank cellars…

Texas Chainsaw 3D opens in theaters on January 4, 2013. The horror thriller stars Alexandra Daddario, Tania Raymonde, Trey Songz, Keram Malicki-Sanchez, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry, Paul Rae, Scott Eastwood, Richard Riehle, Gunnar Hansen, Marilyn Burns, John Dugan, Bill Moseley and Dan Yeager.

American franchises are becoming more and more like Japanese ones. STREET FIGHTER has at least 1 TV series, 2 animated movies, and three animated direct to video releases, all of which are based off of the video game and none of which relate to one another. GODZILLA had a series of 15 films, then started over with only the first film still in continuity for a series which lasted 7 films. Then came 2 standalone films, 1 sequel to the first movie again, a standalone duology, and 1 final film that seemed to incorporate pretty much everything... or none of it, depending on your point of view. In america A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET had 6 films, then a standalone film, then another sequel to the 6 films, then a reboot. TEXAS CHAINSAW has had 3 films, a direct to video reboot, a theatrical reboot, a prequel to the theatrical reboot, and now a new sequel to the very first film again!

@AlexDeLarge87 - It's a sequel to the original film only, as if parts 2 and 3 didn't exist :).

@fettastic - Here's how I view the series thus far: I love the original for being such a fearless movie that was SO ahead of its time. I love part 2 for being everything that the original was accused of being, but wasn't. I am a so-so on part 3 (although I liked my workprint version I used to own a LOT better, even with most of the sound effects and all of the soundtrack missing). I completely loathed THE NEXT GENERATION. I thought the Platinum Dunes remake was serviceable, but not quite what I had hoped for. THE BEGINNING I thought was pretty much phenomenally good, with only one (semi-large) flaw holding it back from being perfect.

Very similar to Slipknot @Earzmundo and Miguels, I can see it. Do you guys think they'll be a law-suit; because of the "similarities" or no? And why 3D anyway?

awww they scare grif, HOW CUTE! anyone would know Corey from slipknot's first few masks were actually leather-face Halloween masks. why in 3d you ask ? so they can shoot bullets at you / throw knives and axes at you and possibly throw you up on a hook. I have a feeling the 3d will be used so you feel like you are the one being cut down with the chainsaw. I really don't see why they are making another tcm movie but what ever.........Hopefully it will be better than those ones from a few years ago...... the best horror movies are when you don't know [frick] all about the "killer" and he/she is more of a phantom instead of some butthurt tween who got her cellphone taken away. They ruin most characters giving them origins or spending way to much time on why they are who they are. you can explain it in a quick short scene not 45 mins of a film.
