The reviews have been pretty solid across the board and if all goes according to plan, Sony Pictures should have a bonafide hit on their hands this weekend when Paul Feig's Ghostbusters finally graces silver screens worldwide.

In a recent interview with Collider, Feig chatted about the initial cuts of the film, revealing that the editor's first cut ran around four hours and fifteen minutes and that he was able to trim that raw version down to a much more manageable three and a half hours. Like any major motion picture, they went through a number of different iterations, with the goal of bringing it down to under two hours, before settling on the current theatrical cut, which runs just under two hours at a smooth 1 hour and 56 minutes. Considering where they started and where they ended up as well as the combined comedic talents of his cast, it's easy to wonder how much great material was left on the cutting room floor and how much fans will get to see when the film hits Blu-ray later this year.

Well, as it turns out, Feig planned way ahead and has already completed an Extended Cut for the film's eventual release on Blu-ray & DVD: “We actually just finished [the extended cut] so it’s about another 15 minutes longer, but I will also include a lot of the deleted scenes and extra material that we have on the DVD.” He also goes on to promise that all additional scenes will have completed VFX work and that the ghosts featured will look as terrifying in the Extended Cut and bonus content as they will in theaters this Friday.

So, what do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Erin Gilbert (Wiig) and Abby Yates (McCarthy) are a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real.
