We should have known this was coming, but in the final trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Sony finally teases the return of the original Ghostbusters in their classic uniforms. They stop short of a full-blown reveal, but this nostalgia-heavy sneak peek should be enough to excite even the biggest sceptics.
This is also likely to help with ticket sales, of course, and early reviews for the movie have been positive.
2016's Ghostbusters was not well-received and came under fire (unfortunately) for having a predominantly female cast. Ultimately, it wasn't a particularly good addition to the franchise, and the hope is that this instalment will serve as a true follow-up to those classic first couple of movies.
From director Jason Reitman and producer Ivan Reitman, comes the next chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe. In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, when a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind. The film is written by Jason Reitman & Gil Kenan.
The movie stars Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and McKenna Grace, while we're expecting to see original cast members Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Sigourney Weaver.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife arrives exclusively in theaters on November 19.
