GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE Final Trailer Is Heavy On Nostalgia And Teases Some Big Surprises

Sony Pictures has dropped the final trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and there's plenty of nostalgia to be found here along with the promise that we could also see some major surprises in the movie...

We should have known this was coming, but in the final trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Sony finally teases the return of the original Ghostbusters in their classic uniforms. They stop short of a full-blown reveal, but this nostalgia-heavy sneak peek should be enough to excite even the biggest sceptics.

This is also likely to help with ticket sales, of course, and early reviews for the movie have been positive.

2016's Ghostbusters was not well-received and came under fire (unfortunately) for having a predominantly female cast. Ultimately, it wasn't a particularly good addition to the franchise, and the hope is that this instalment will serve as a true follow-up to those classic first couple of movies.

From director Jason Reitman and producer Ivan Reitman, comes the next chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe. In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, when a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind. The film is written by Jason Reitman & Gil Kenan.

The movie stars Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and McKenna Grace, while we're expecting to see original cast members Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Sigourney Weaver.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife arrives exclusively in theaters on November 19.

My complaints about Ghostbusters 2016 is not the cast. It's the writing. It was low hanging fruit humour, and everyone of those actresses was better than that movie. Paul Feige is the one who really [frick]ed it

@TheMapleSyrup - The only winner was Chris. It didn't really affect the rest of the cast one way or the other, which is good. I like them, but that film just rubbed me the wrong way.

SPOILER ALERT
As cool as that last shot it, i am pissed they're doing Winston dirty AGAIN. Presumably, that' Stanz and Venkman in that final shot. If you pause, you can see Winston is there on the right side, half his body cropped out of the shot, AND in shadow. Dr. Zeddemore gets no respect.

@TheFinestSmack - To be fair...

All kidding aside, it's just a trailer. It would be extremely dumb to do that in the actual film.

Wonder if they would ever do a Ghost Busters tv show, Would need a decent budget but with stuff like Ash VS Evil Dead, it is possible to do stuff like that on tv

I don't care it's a nostalgia trip (I don't even have that much nostalgia for the originals at all), but I sure as hell gonna enjoy all the callbacks and whatnots

Looks great. Simple nit pick but I hope they explain why the kids can wear those Proton Packs cause in the originals the grown men had a little trouble wearing them cause of their weight. Maybe they’re newer with modern lightweight technology. 🤷‍♂️
