Plot - Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D is said to indeed be a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s 1974 original film which follows Heather (Alexandra Daddario), who along with her friends, travel to Texas in order to collect an inheritance.

Gunnar Hansen - "It's a true sequel to the original. The opening of the movie is the last scene of the original movie. So it starts right at the beginning," The opening of the movie is the last scene of the original movie and so it starts right at the beginning. In fact, they're using some of the footage of Leatherface, of me, dancing, at the beginning. They're using that footage as the opening shot, I think. I read the script, it looks pretty good. I can say that because I'm extremely critical of the sequels and the remakes. This one, you know, is not what I would have written, but I didn't write it."

The first minute and a half Gunnar makes the quote from above and he also has some harsh words about the producers of the 2003 reboot. If you're a fan of the original you should watch the full video for some fascinating behind-the-scenes information. Included is a bloody story about a prop knife that wouldn't work properly and an actor forced to strike a woman with a broomstick for real.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D will slice into theaters October 5, 2012. John Luessenhop is filming from a screenplay by Adam Marcus, Debra Sullivan and Kirsten Elms, with Dan Yeager, John Dugan, Bill Moseley, Alexandra Daddario, Sue Rock, Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Gunnar Hansen, Tobe Hooper, Paul Rae, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, Ritchie Montgomery, Trey Songz, Marilyn Burns, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry and Richard Riehler.

The popularity of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre film-series and of its main character, Leatherface, led to the publication of several comic books based on the franchise. In 1991, Northstar Comics released a miniseries titled Leatherface — a loose adaptation of Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III — that ran for four issues. In 1995, Topps Comics released Jason Vs. Leatherface, a three-issue miniseries that had Jason Voorhees of Friday the 13th fame moving in with Leatherface and his cannibalistic family.- wikipedia
