The Oscar buzz over Mickey Rourke’s turn in The Wrestler left his involvement in Iron Man 2 in doubt, but perhaps we shouldn’t count him out just yet.

After being hassled by the paparazzi—and being way cooler about it than I would have been—Mickey finally gives up a bit of information. When asked if he will be involved in Iron Man 2, Mickey responds, "You bet your ass."

Just what role Mickey would play in the sequel to Jon Favreau's blockbuster Iron Man (2008) is still in doubt, but rumors are circulating that he will play Whiplash, a minor Marvel villain. With filming expected to begin in April, we should know the answer before too long.

Stallone is talking about using him in Rambo V along with him in that new Merc movie with Jason Statman.

Yeah, I love Mickey! I hope he does this flick and keeps on rolling! He better not pass on Marv...

According to the IMDB page on Iron Man 2, the villains are Whiplash and Justin Hammer, with no mention of the Mandarin.

It's supposed to start filming soon, but I don't see how that's likely at this point.

I heard Mandarin will be in the backround again, and will be built up for the 3rd movie. But, Favreau already said he wants the 3rd to be the Avengers movie so he can avoid "the curse". IDK, I don't think anyone knows anything, including ME!!!!!

Hooray he's involved. Boo that the it seems we're doomed to a retarded villain. I seriously hope Whiplash isn't supposed to carry this as our main antagonist *weeps*. I am still crossing my fingers for Crimson Dynamo.

What Marvel Hero could he play though? Hmmm. Cable comes to mind.
