Marvel Int'l President Dishes Out IRON MAN 3 Spoilers?

Seemingly confirming another Tony Stark ally that'll suit up in the forthcoming Iron Man threequel, hit the jump and check out a couple of potential spoilers reportedly via Marvel's International president!

According to Brazilian entertainment site Omelete, Simon Philips, President of Marvel Ent. International and Consumer Products, recently attended a presentation in São Paulo, where he offered details for the highly-anticipated Iron Man 3 movie. With a spoiler warning, read on below!

A transcription of the spoilerific report, via Protocida, reveals that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) will eventually have an underground Hall of Armors with at least 16 new armors, including a few classic designs from the comics. Simon Philips also revealed, or confirmed, that Virginia Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) will indeed get in on the action, this time by donning her own suit of armor; similar to doing so with the ‘Rescue’ suit in the comic books.

In addition, the report also captioned a scene from last month's teaser trailer, where Tony Stark is seen lying on a hospital bed, seemingly readying an operation. As expected, Philips apparently confirmed that it's during that scene that Stark is being injected with the Extremis virus. And as a result, he'll be able to create new armors from leftover pieces of older ones. For example, as Protocida notes, Stark will use arms and legs from previous models to create a new design.

Omelete is somewhat credible with several interviews and other exclusive material in the past. And the possibility of Pepper Potts suiting up in the Shane Black-directed actioner wouldn't exactly be something unforeseen. Marvel Studios head Kevin Fiege & Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau teased the idea earlier this year, saying they almost went ahead with the idea in the previous films. And the Hall of Armor bit will likely be seen during the film's penultimate sequence. What do you think?

Marvel Studios’ “Iron Man 3” pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man? Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley, “Iron Man 3” is directed by Shane Black from a screenplay by Drew Pearce & Shane Black and is based on Marvel’s iconic Super Hero Iron Man, who first appeared on the pages of “Tales of Suspense” (#39) in 1963 and had his solo comic book debut with “The Invincible Iron Man” (#1) in May of 1968. “Iron Man 3” is presented by Marvel Studios in association with Paramount Pictures & DMG Entertainment. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing & Jon Favreau, Louis D’Esposito, Stephen Broussard, Victoria Alonso, Alan Fine, Charles Newirth, Stan Lee & Dan Mintz are executive producers. The film hits May 3, 2013, & is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

So the plan for Iron Man 3 is to jump the shark. Brilliant, his armor should have "super pursuit mode" as well.

Looking forward to seeing Pepper clumsily operating a suit. It will be a nice reprise of Tony's own "run before you can walk" scenes in the first movie.

Well she did have a go at designing her own tower at the end of Avengers, so the next step would be to design her own suit. Beats being damsel in distress again.

Ugh. How about in the next Avengers we just give everyone a suit? Hawkeye, Black Widow, heck why not Hulk too?

This is a stupid idea.

My feelings will be so mixed over this film, on the one hand it looks set to have the best story and acting, but on the other hand I think it'll be over-saturated with armors, and that was my main problem with Iron Man 2.

honestly its way better than the damzel in distress crap we ssee in very other movie. and im sure its not going to be anything to crazy they will probably use it as a cute and humerous moment when she takes out a henchman or something. and even though it doesnt happen in the comic i hope she dies. they need more deaths in these movies. hell even the villains live in all these films.

Well think about it - Tony wants Pepper to be safe, and has access to the best personal protection technology ever - what would you do?

Can't we just get more barefoot/short-shorts Pepper, like in The Avengers?
SwingsetKnight

While I agree that too many people flying around in Iron Man suits kind of dilutes Iron Man's "superhero" status, it does become increasingly tough, in terms of what we understand of Tony's character, to explain why he WOULDN'T give her one of the dozen suits he has lying around, particularly given any sort of dangerous situation.

Sure, make Pepper into Rescue. Just...two things, Marvel:

1: It stops with Pepper.
2: Please don't be tacky about this and give it a boobplate. I mean, come on. Even women who wore historical armour did not wear boobplates. Gwyneth Paltrow, lovely lady as she is, does not have size F knockers to necessitate a big fat bulge in an Iron flight suit just to show that "wow, this is a GIRL suit".

"reveals that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) will eventually have an underground Hall of Armors with at least 16 new armors, including a few classic designs from the comics."

Ooooo! So does that mean we'll see, oh, I don't know....

Aaaaaaaaand, drum roll, please.....

I hope so! :)

First news from this movie I do not like. Hope it's not true. But who knows, maybe it will turn out awesome in the end. I am of the mind that too many armored people devalues Iron Man himself.
