Looking at all of the trailers (especially that dialogue)I had very low expectations for this film.

I was actually really surprised that the first reviews were all positive, but then out of nowhere they all turned negative, ...phenomenon

...oh, and all these pseudo-intellectual, pretentious self-important tools who try and pass themselves off as mainstream and contemporary speaking for the 'masses-at- large', duplicitously asserting altruism for our wallets are full of pomposity and arrogance.

You can't trust the 'fake news media' in ANY of it's forms.

Go see this.

I'm reviewing it. I'm NOT getting paid to do so, so I have no ulterior motives or an agenda.

I just saw a great film. If you go see 'John Carter', then you will also have seen a great film.

Man, I just watched it and I have to say that is too much different than I thoought it would be. I thought it were like Transformers or Prince of Persia, but the movie has too much things. I understand the director's intention of create a new cinematic saga. The CGI has some troubles to me, but the art direction is simply awesome, the actors are great and there are moments of complete magic.

I will watch it again on cinema, defintely, and I recomend!!!

Not a huge fan of Taylor Kitch and I felt like I was watching a movie in the desert, not Mars. But not bad. Instant points because Lynn Collins is smoking hot. I have it 3.5 out of 5.

72% of people liked it on Rottentomatoes despite the critics review being split 50/50%. I say screw critics and go with your own opinion because in the end that's what really matters, you don't watch a film to agree with some idiot who gets paid to watch stuff he has no interest in and wouldn't see if they had to buy the ticket out of their own pocket change!

Anyone backing out of watching this movie based simply on reviews by critics seriously needs to grow an original self opinionated brain cell!

Been a fan of this site for a while; figured I'd finally sign up so I could comment.

So here goes comment #1!

Anyways, just got back from seeing John Carter. Gotta say, I was pretty disappointed. The movie is a mess. It's like they took elements from across the books and threw it in a blender to see what would come out.

Worst part is how they changed Carter from a guy who sticks up for his friends and for the underdog and acts without thinking into the reluctant hero type. So now he has no motivation for doing any of the things he does.

My kids (boy 8, girl 10) went to see it last night. It was definitely entertaining. Not much will be made of the Thurks only because Avatar preceded it, but they were particularly well done. Not much will be made of the arena battle because SW Episode II preceded it, but again, well done. Story is a bit difficult to understand for the younger set but they got enough to enjoy the sorta twist ending.

I learned not to trust the critics/media long ago. And who cares (other than the investors and people getting paid that made the film) how much a movie makes? That should have zero weight on how much YOU personally enjoy a movie. A Hannah Montana or Zac Efron movie probably has/would out perform any of my favorite movies every time. Eff the critics. Stick with what you like and stop giving a sh!t what other people say.
